Melkote vlog in English

We hit the road to Melkote which is around 150 km from Bangalore. We stopped at a

restaurant for breakfast. We ordered idly vada and Set-dosa. According to WHO, idly is

considered the healthiest breakfast food. After washing our hands, the kids spotted

calves and decided to offer them ladoos. They were scared to go nearby. I prepared ladoos

for us, but we didn't have anything else to provide the calves. So, we decided to offer

them the ladoos. It is also said in Hindi

So be it. After this, we headed towards Melkote. We reached the border of Melkote.

From here, we can see the temple on the top of the hill of Melkote. We reached

Melkote and had a beautiful Darshan of Lord Cheluva Narayan Swami. After that we

tracked to the mountain to have the Darshan of Lord Yoganarsimha. Tracking was a good

experience for the kids. They were specifically excited about this part of

the journey. They only watched tracking on TV. But this time experienced it in

person. It was wonderful. There were stairs to climb. We reached the Temple of

Lord Yoga Narasimha Swami Temple. At the Gate of the temple, a monkey approached

us and caught hold of my husband's right leg and wasn't ready to leave him. He

offered him a few bananas. We thought of offering the bananas first to the Lord

but instead we decided to offer him as the saying goes

So be it. After this small incident, we headed to the main Temple. We

took a coupon for the archana. This Temple is ancient. It is said that a great devotee

Prahlad Maharaj came here after Lord Narasimha killed his father. He was very sad

to lose his father. Then Lord Narasimha approached him and taught him a series

of yoga postures and gest of life. After the darshan of Lord Yoganarasimha, we paid humble

obeisance to Lord Hanuman. After I came out of the temple, another monkey grabbed my

dress. I was too scared to move. We reached a spot where we could see the

entire Melkote from the top. We could see the beautiful Kalyani Pond from here. We also

clicked a few photos with a stunning view in the background. On the way down

the kids were tired and wanted to rest on a big rock. A cow also reached here I

don't know how but it's probably because of the food as the saying goes there is

a will there is a way the cow had a will so she found the way we spotted monkeys

taking a bath in a small pond we came down and had our delicious lunch the

lunch was served on the banana leaves after lunch we rested at Kalyani

Pond from here we could see the Yoga Narasimha Swami Temple the kids wanted to

sit closer to the pond and touch the water Havisha was their leader they made

their way to the pond they enjoyed themselves there for some time after

that they came back and moved around the Kalyani Pond the beauty of the steps

leading to water and the mandapas built all around are such that it has been

captured in many Indian films one of the songs of the Hindi Blockbuster film
