The 1-Sentence English Fluency Course - How To Speak English Like A Native

Students often ask me how long it takes to get fluent.

Or they want to know how many words they need to know to speak confidently.

Well, I get these questions because traditional English teachers in classrooms, and even here

on YouTube, misunderstand fluency.

So it’s not your fault if you’ve learned English for years, but can’t yet express

yourself smoothly and automatically.

Fortunately, it’s actually fast and easy to become a confident speaker, once you understand

the TRUTH about how to learn languages.

In 1687, Isaac Newton published his laws of motion and universal gravitation.

His theory of gravity was that all objects in the universe pull on each other.

But in 1915, over 200 years later, Albert Einstein published a new theory that said

gravity was really caused by warps and curves in the fabric of space and time.

Einstein’s general theory of relativity proved to be the better explanation.

Much like how Einstein gave us a better way of understanding gravity, here’s better

way to understand fluency that can help you become a better speaker in days, instead of

months or years.

Now, before I share the sentence, let’s quickly look at the traditional theory of

fluency to understand why most lessons really STOP you from speaking.

It’s traditionally believed that you can only learn a second language through your

first.

So most English teachers put a series of “filters” between the student and the real, SPOKEN language

of movies, TV shows and native conversations.

Examples of these filters are translations, confusing explanations, rules taught out of

context, slower, clearer speech, formal, “textbook” words and phrases instead of more natural

vocabulary, and often teacher accents that train learners to mispronounce words.

The HOPE is that after many YEARS of learning this way, you become fluent.

So why doesn’t the traditional way work for most students?

The first problem is that language learning “filters” transform the REAL English natives

speak into a different language.

This is why so many students have trouble understanding the fast speech, accents and

conversational vocabulary of natives.

The second, and even more frustrating, problem is that when you LEARN through filters you

must also use these same filters when you SPEAK.

So it’s no surprise that countless students must think about rules, translate and prepare

sentences in their heads in conversations.

Ultimately, this old approach teaches you a lot of words and grammar, but DOESN’T

help you become fluent.

So what’s the better theory of fluency?

Here’s the ONE SENTENCE that can change everything about the way you learn English:

“Fluency is built instantly – not over months or years – by learning English DIRECTLY.”

By removing the filters of traditional English lessons, you can understand and USE the real

language automatically.

Here’s an example of direct learning:

These leaves are falling DOWN.

But this tree is falling OVER.

So is this water falling down, or falling over?

Right!

It’s falling down.

You just learned the difference between fall down and fall over DIRECTLY, without any explanations,

translations, grammar tables or any other “filters.”

So, you can now correctly SAY fall down and fall over in your conversations without thinking

or hesitating!

Pretty cool, right?

Of course, you don’t instantly get fluent in the WHOLE language by learning this way.

But because direct learning helps you understand and use individual words, phrases and grammar

points correctly the FIRST time you learn them, you can learn something once, remember

it forever and get fluent much faster than with traditional lessons!

The best part about direct learning is that it works with ANY vocabulary or grammar.

The KEY is to learn all in English, and with understandable, natural examples.

If you can’t understand a lesson directly, it’s probably because the lesson is too

difficult, like it contains too many words you don’t know.

So, always learn with native content that’s at the right for your level, even if this

means TV shows or books for children.
