The English language is a collection of words

အင်္ဂလိပ်ဘာသာစကားသည်

that must be used in a certain way,

အခြားဘာသာစကားများကဲ့သို့ပင် တစ်စုံတစ်ရာသောနည်းလမ်းဖြင့် အသုံးပြုရမည့်

just like any other language,

စကားလုံးအစုအဝေးတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး

English words follow rules that must always be observed and followed.

အင်္ဂလိပ်စကားလုံးများသည် အမြဲတမ်းလိုက်နာရမည့် စည်းကမ်းများကို လိုက်နာရမည်ဖြစ်သည်။

The general term for these rules is 'grammar'.

ဤစည်းမျဉ်းများအတွက် ယေဘူယျဝေါဟာရမှာ 'သဒ္ဒါ' ဖြစ်သည်။

Grammar rules are there to give order to a language.

ဘာသာစကားတစ်ခုကို အမိန့်ပေးဖို့အတွက် သဒ္ဒါစည်းမျဉ်းတွေရှိတယ်။

The grammar of a language relates to the way in which words must be used

and how each group of words function or work.

In English, the types of words are divided into groups

that define their simple use.

These groups are - nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs

as well as conjunctions with their own system of types and uses.

First of all, we have nouns.

ပထမဆုံးအနေနဲ့ ကျွန်တော်တို့မှာ နာမ်တွေရှိတယ်။

A noun is a naming word.

နာမ်သည် အမည်ပေးသည့် စကားလုံးဖြစ်သည်။

It names something.

တစ်ခုခုကို နာမည်ပေးတယ်။

It is what the thing is called.

ထိုအရာကို ခေါ်သည်။

The name of something is a noun.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခု၏အမည်သည် နာမ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

Basic nouns are things such as...

အခြေခံနာမ်များသည်... Apple

Apple. Tree. Cloud. Bird. Horse.

ကဲ့သို့သော အရာများဖြစ်သည် ။ သစ်ပင်။ မိုးတိမ်။ ငှက်။ မြင်း။

A name given to a person is a noun.

လူကို ပေးသောအမည်သည် နာမ်ဖြစ်သည်။

It is a person's name.

လူ၏အမည်ဖြစ်၏။

My name is Duncan.

ကျွန်တော့်နာမည်က Duncan ပါ။

Then there are verbs.

နောက်တော့ ကြိယာတွေရှိတယ်။

A verb is a doing word.

ကြိယာသည် လုပ်သောစကားလုံးဖြစ်သည်။

It describes an action.

လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တစ်ခုကို ဖော်ပြသည်။

Something being done will involve the use of a verb.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုလုပ်ဆောင်ခြင်းသည် ကြိယာတစ်ခုအသုံးပြုခြင်း ပါဝင်သည်။

Verbs include... Walk. Climb. Jump.

ကြိယာများပါဝင်သည်...လမ်းလျှောက်ခြင်း။ တက်ပါ။ ခုန်ပါ။

Sing. Throw. Sit. Eat.

သီချင်းဆိုပါ။ အရှင်သာရိပုတ္တရာ။ ထိုင်ပါ။ စားသည်။

Next, we have adjectives.

နောက်တစ်ခုကတော့ နာမဝိသေသနတွေရှိပါတယ်။

An adjective describes the appearance of something.

နာမဝိသေသနသည် တစ်စုံတစ်ခု၏အသွင်အပြင်ကို ဖော်ပြသည်။

How something looks.

တစ်ခုခုကို ဘယ်လိုမြင်လဲ။

What something appears like, or as.

တစ်ခုခုပေါ်လာရင် ဘယ်လိုဖြစ်ဖြစ်၊

The features of something being described

ဖော်ပြထားသည့်အရာများ၏ အင်္ဂါရပ်များသည်

will use adjectives to describe them.

၎င်းတို့ကိုဖော်ပြရန် နာမဝိသေသနများကို အသုံးပြုမည်ဖြစ်သည်။

Adjectives include...

နာမဝိသေသနများပါဝင်သည်...

Fat. Thin. Tall. Young. Old. Light. Dark.

အဆီ။ ပိန်တယ်။ အရပ်ရှည်တယ်။ လူငယ်။ အဟောင်း။ အလင်း။ မှောငျမိုကျသော။

The colour of something is described using adjectives.

တစ်ခုခု၏အရောင်ကို နာမဝိသေသနများဖြင့် ဖော်ပြသည်။

A red car. A blue ball. A white hat.

အနီရောင်ကားတစ်စီး။ အပြာရောင်ဘောလုံး။ ဦးထုပ်ဖြူ။ ပြီးရင်

Then there are adverbs...

တစ်ခုခုကို လုပ်ဆောင်နေပုံကို ဖော်ပြတဲ့

which describe how something is being done.

ကြိယာဝိသေသနတွေ ရှိပါတယ်။

The type of action and what it relates to is an adverb.

လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်အမျိုးအစားနှင့် ၎င်းနှင့်ဆက်စပ်သောအရာသည် ကြိယာဝိသေသနဖြစ်သည်။

Happily. Sadly. Merrily. wrongly. Rightly. Angrily. Peacefully.

ဝမ်းသာစရာ။ ဝမ်းနည်းစရာ။ ရွှင်လန်းစွာ။ မှားယွင်းစွာ မှန်တယ်။ စိတ်ဆိုးစွာ။ ငြိမ်းချမ်းစွာ။

We also have prepositions

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့တွင်

which are used to show the position of something;

တစ်စုံတစ်ခု၏ အနေအထားကို ပြသရန် အသုံးပြုသည့် ဝိဘတ်များလည်း ရှိသည်။

where one thing is; the position, the place.

အရာတစ်ခုသည် အဘယ်မှာရှိသနည်း။ ရာထူး၊ နေရာ။

Where one thing is compared to other things around it.

အရာတစ်ခုသည် အခြားအရာများနှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်ပါက၊

Under. Over. Behind. On. Between...

အောက်မှာ။ ကျော်လွန်။ နောက်ကွယ်။ ဂရန်။ အကြား ......

...are all prepositions.

ဝိဘတ်အားလုံး ဖြစ်ကြသည် ။

These are the main types of grammar

ဤအရာများသည် အင်္ဂလိပ်လိုသုံးသော

that are used in English.

အဓိကသဒ္ဒါအမျိုးအစားများဖြစ်သည်

Nouns - <i>naming.</i> Verbs - <i>doing.</i>

။ နာမ်များ - <i>အမည်ပေးခြင်း။</i> ကြိယာများ - <i>doing.</i>

Adjectives - <i>appearance.</i>

နာမဝိသေသန - <i>အသွင်အပြင်။</i>

Adverbs - <i>appearance and action.</i>

ကြိယာဝိသေသန - <i>အသွင်အပြင်နှင့် လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်။</i>

Prepositions - <i>place and position</i>.

ဝိဘတ်များ - <i >နေရာနှင့် အနေအထား</i>။

Remember, do not be afraid of English grammar.

အင်္ဂလိပ်သဒ္ဒါကို မကြောက်ပါနဲ့ သတိရပါ။

It is just another part of learning the language.
