near my food, I become rather angry.

All of the flies are beginning to hatch out, and of course it does not help

with the fact that we live very close to a lot of farmland,

and we do have some cattle at the moment at the back of the house as well.

I don't know about you, but sometimes certain

dishes, certain meals

taste better when you reheat them,

when you heat them up again.

Steve's Chilli Hong Kong is a very good example of that.

So I don't know why, but when he makes it on Sunday, or Saturday.

So quite often we have it at the weekend.

It tastes nice. Don't get me wrong.

It does taste good.

However, when you reheat

the meal, you heat it up again.

It tastes even better.

I think all of the flavour, all of the flavour in the sauce

and all of the spices and the garlic.

So when you think of saving money, when you think of

because the prices of everything are rising.

They are all becoming more expensive.

Food, electricity, gas,

heating, vegetables,

grain, rice, all of these things

are all becoming more expensive for various reasons.

Some of the things are in short supply.

You can't get hold of them or maybe they are becoming scarce

for various reasons.

And of course things are becoming more expensive because of the general state of the economy.

Around the world, including here as well.

Things not looking good.

So many people are talking about how to live

without spending too much money.

And one of the things, of course, is eating.

Eating certain types of food.

A lot of people like to go out and have a meal.

Maybe it's a restaurant or a fast food chain.

Maybe now and again you like to treat yourself

to a McDonald's or a KFC.

But many people

now are finding that they can't afford to go out to eat.

They can't afford to actually eat in the restaurant.

So there are ways now of of using food,

buying food, certain types of food

that you can use for maybe two or three days

to reheat food or reuse your food.

But we believe in that.

Steve love doing that.

We hate throwing away food.

So quite often we will keep the food in the refrigerator

and then reheat it and then eat it later.

So there are many ways of doing that.

But saving money

is something everyone is thinking

about, including us, including probably you as well.

We are all trying to tighten our belts.

If you tighten your belt, it means you are spending less money on things.

So everyone at the moment is watching their pennies and their pounds

because things

are going a little bit crazy

as far as the economy is concerned.

But since then the economy has been slowly building back up.

We've had many cutbacks as well here in the UK over

the previous ten years for various reasons.

So everyone is still recovering from that physically.

And financially.

And then on top of that,

we now have

political situations that have that have taken over many people's lives.

We have Ukraine being invaded by Russia.

A lot of people feel strongly about that in various ways.

So I suppose all of these things are slowly coming together

and that is the reason why we are in the mess that we are.

Oh, the other thing that we have here that you don't.

Is Brexit, of course,

that is now back in the news

so everyone once again is talking about Brexit.

We are talking about the war in Ukraine.

We are talking about the end of lockdown on and people now going back to work.

And some people don't want to go back to work.

They want to stay at home.

And then the price of everything is starting to go up.

Fuel, food.

It's a crazy time.

What a time to be alive.

I still don't quite know how I am still able

how I am able to stand here and do this

without collapsing on the floor.

So there is a baby alpaca.

Lots of people in the UK like to keep alpacas as pets.

But they can be rather difficult to.

To look after because they make lots of mess.

And they also like lots of room to run around, and

they need lots of space.

So this is a well, what is this?

I thought it was Mick Jagger.

But it isn't.

It's. It's an adult alpaca.

So this is what an adult alpaca looks like.

Very unusual creatures.

Very strange.

Something more familiar.

Near where I live, we have lots of these animals

running around in the wild, lots of deer.

So where I live, I'm very close to some forests and lots of open area.

And you will often see deer,

especially early in the morning.

If you are lucky to wake up early in the morning, you can often

see the deer running around

Oh, here's another familiar animal.

This particular bird, a heron.

We sometimes get herons flying over the house.

They are beautiful birds, and they are so big as well.

So this particular heron is a real one.

And the reason why I say that

is because in my garden, I have a fake

heron made of plastic,

which lots of people often comment

about because they think it's real.

Here's another one.

Oh, another cute animal.

Look at those eyes and the cute nose

and the little whiskers.

I think that otter

has a better moustache than I do,

so I am a little bit jealous, to be honest.

So there is an otter.

They live in water.

And you often find them in rivers

or lakes, and you will see them quite often where there are lots of,

I suppose on the riverbank, you will often see otters.

If you are lucky, they're not easy animals

to see or find because they are quite shy.

Here's another animal that's quite shy.

An owl.

We often see owls if we are lucky at night.

You will certainly hear them

owls.

We have lots of owls where we live and quite often at night.

If you go outside in the evening, you will hear

all the owls calling to each other.

And of course, we can't forget

our lovely little friend, the lamb.

Oh, and at the moment there are lambs running around everywhere.

There are many lambs running around

because this is the lambing season.

Normally, between the months of March and May,

You often find that many farms

will have lots of lambs in their fields.

So there is a lovely, lovely lamb, some cute animals for us to look at.

And the reason why I'm doing it is, well,

first of all, to cheer myself up

And also because we are going to talk about

animals in idioms and expressions,

all of that coming up in a few moments.

Here are some more animals for you to look at.

Some people say that philosophy is something

that comes to you naturally as you get older.

Age quite often brings with it wisdom

as you learn your lessons in life.

I think also philosophy is very good for

for teaching you lessons when you are young as well,

learning from other people's thoughts and ideas

about this crazy thing we call life.

So today we are looking at some expressions

to do with animals, some animal idioms

to take us through to the end of today's live stream.

Of course, if you want to say anything on the live chat, you can.

So we are looking at animal idioms

we will go through these one by one and I will explain

the meaning

Here's an interesting one.

An animal that you will never, ever want to get near

for obvious reasons.

Have a tiger by the tail.

If you have a tiger by the tail, this expression means

to undertake a task that proves more difficult than expected.

But must be completed.

So imagine

putting your hand

somewhere and then grabbing hold

of a tiger's tail.

But at that point, you have to continue because you have to do that job.

You have to do that thing.

The thing you are doing is something that must be carried out.

However, that particular thing

has become more difficult or more dangerous than you intended.

And because of that, we can

say that you have a tiger by the tail.

It is figurative.

It is saying that you are now doing something

that is more dangerous than you realised.

You have a tiger by the tail.

You have taken on something that must be done,

but it is now more dangerous

or more risky than you thought it would be.

Talking of risky things.

Here is another thing that is quite risky.

Put your head in the lion's mouth.

If you put your head in the lion's mouth,

not literally, of course.

We can say that you are doing something risky,

something that might have terrible consequences.

So to do something risky or that might or a thing

that might have terrible consequences,

you put your head in the lion's mouth.

And of course, many years ago,

we would go to the circus

and we would see

someone taming a lion.

The lion would be angry or ferocious.

And so the tamer would calm the lion down.

The lion would become tame.

And then he would go up to the lion.

He would open the lion's mouth,

and he'd put his head

into the lion's mouth.

Of course, people don't do that anymore.

For obvious reasons.

If you put your head in the lion's

mouth, you are doing something risky or something

that might have terrible consequences.

You put your head in the lion's mouth.

Here's another one.

So not all of these phrases are connected to lions,

but these are

to go into the lion's den.

Oh, if you go into the lion's den,

it means you are going in to a a hostile

or maybe desperate or dangerous situation.

Maybe you are going into a room to be punished.

Maybe you are going into a room

and you are trying to calm down an angry crowd of people.

You go in to the lion's den.

You go in to the place where you might come to harm

or where things might be hostile.

Sometimes in war, people will express

the the moment where you have to face danger

as going into the lion's den.

Here's another one.

Oh, by the way, this particular phrase

got my my lifestream blocked on YouTube earlier.

I don't know why, but they seem they don't seem to like that word for some reason.

I don't know why, but I did put this in my title,

the actual title of the live stream.

And guess what?

YouTube blocked it

They said it was using offensive

or sensitive language, so I had to change it to something else.

So here we go to pussyfoot around and a person

who pussy fits to do something cautiously,

possibly overcautious.

So if you are being careful if you are approaching

something carefully or cautiously,

we can say that you are pussy footing you pussy foot.

Imagine a cat walking along silently.

Maybe it is hunting for a bird or a mouse.
