I am right now performing an experiment.

Don't worry. It's not a scientific experiment.

It is a YouTube experiment.

I am at the moment streaming through my big professional camera,

using my mobile phone as the connection to the internet.

This is the first time I've ever tried doing this on one of my English addict lessons.

So this is now a live image.

One of the wonderful things about this, of course, is I can do everything through my big camera, which means

we can see more of the wonderful sights around this area.

So first of all, I can't resist doing this particular thing. I'm going to do it now.

I'm going to move the camera around,

and we are going to have a look at some cows in the field that are having a lovely afternoon.

So this will give you an idea of how powerful this camera actually is.

For those wondering, it is a hot day.

It's around about 20 Celsius and it's beautiful.

I did a short test earlier in the week just to see how well it functions, and it did seem to be okay.

By the way, I was out and about yesterday.

I spent nearly six hours outside yesterday doing a lot of filming for a big lesson that is coming up.

Maybe next week, perhaps at the end of next week.

it has been an international language, a language that is spoken everywhere by so many people.

And I also think that English is something that is useful to have.

on a hill, I'm actually on the side of Wenlock Edge.

So at the moment we are using the Ivy camera.

It's wonderful. I love this camera very much. In fact,

I sneak down in the middle of the night and I give my camera a hug.

I squeeze it tightly and I say hi, I love you, I a camera, I love you so much.

It also gives me a chance to remember Mr.

Steve's mum at the same time as well.

So lots of things are going on when I think of this particular piece of equipment.

We have a big event taking place in a few days from now.

We have the big Paris rendezvous taking place.

There will be myself, there will be Mr.

Steve and also some of you as well.

We'll be getting together and we will be having a look around Paris, and we will have a big rendezvous,

which is taking place on the 1st of June in Paris.

I won't give the location away because, well,

for various reasons, to be honest.

But it will be somewhere, somewhere in Paris.

Not an obvious place, by the way,

but it will be somewhere lovely where we can all spend a little bit of time and have some fun.

So that is happening on the 1st of June, and we will be going away towards the end of May.

So we are having a few days in Paris so I can rest and relax.

And of course I will be making some new English lessons as well.

There will be lots of new English lessons taking place as well during that time, so I hope you will join me for that.

If you can't be there in person, don't worry. Don't worry. If you can't be there

for real,

you can always join the live stream, which is taking place on Sunday,

the 1st of June 2025.

We might even do it again next year,

but not in Paris. I think next year we will do it somewhere else.

I don't know why when you are in the middle of nowhere, when you are in a place

that is far away from other people, it does feel as if you have the world to yourself.

It almost feels as if you are the only person in the world.

But of course, I'm not.

I don't mind sharing the planet with other people, to be honest.

I do have a very good camera. This camera by the way, just in case you are interested.

I know a lot of people are really bored when I talk about cameras and equipment, but this camera is not a normal camera.

This is actually used for television. Oh, Mr. Duncan,

fancy pants.

So it is a very good camera and it is able to do all sorts of things.

In fact, I'm still learning how to use this camera because it's very sophisticated, as you can see,

because I am able to broadcast life through it

with a wonderful picture as well, which is always nice.

A lot of people complain about YouTube sometimes when people put videos on, maybe they upload a video or perhaps they go live.

Quite often the picture might not be very good, or of course the sound might not be good.

And I think that is a very important thing to remember if you are ever doing anything as a performance.

Sound for me is the most important part.

The sound is always more important because that is what most people want to do.

They want to hear, they want to listen to something, maybe a song, maybe a poem being read out,

or perhaps you are learning English as a second language.

Yes, this is very similar.

In fact, it's the same camera.

There's a lot of TV stations used when they are gathering news or doing live broadcasts.

So yes, it is, but this is definitely an upgrade.

I suppose you would describe this as an upgrade to upgrade something is to go one step higher.

So this is an upgrade anyway.

I don't want to talk for too long about cameras because I'm sure

not everyone wants to hear about it.

Watching the Wrekin, it is something they enjoy looking at because it always reminds them that they live in Shropshire.

Having a drone in the UK

is not a good idea these days, because a lot of people don't like drones.

They don't like the fact that people fly over your house

or fly over private buildings and film as they go over.

So there are a lot of people who don't

like drones very much.

Mr. Duncan, any good news about those people in search of wild orchids out there?

There is an area in Much Wenlock that has been.

Well, it's a kind of reserve, a nature reserve.

So every year they allow all of the plants and all of the other

types of bushes,

hawthorn and I suppose heather as well.

They allow it all to grow naturally.

But of course once a year they also go up there and cut it as well.

They will trim everything back.

But yes, you are right, wild orchids.

They are not easy to find these days and some people do

go in search of them.

where I actually went to the top of the Wrekin.

As a way of getting fit, which of course is something I have to do.

I have to do that, you see, because I'm going to be in Paris and I will be running around the streets of Paris like a crazy person.

So I do have to make sure that I am 100% fit by then.

Shropshire is a county.

It is right next to Wales.

the internet connection is not great.

Well, I did bring something with me to show you today, but unfortunately, because the weather is so lovely

So if anyone wants to go to the shops, they have to get in the car and drive.

a couple of towns very close, very nearby, including Much Wenlock.

Here in Much Wenlock we have, we have about three supermarkets.

Good supermarkets. They're okay. They're not too bad.

So there is always a place to buy your groceries.

I always seem to find that we are always in a state

of running out of milk every single day.

There never seems to be enough milk in the fridge.

I think it's used for reinforcing

I remember seeing a video a few years ago where they were actually using bamboo

to, to put around a building that was being constructed.

They were actually using bamboo as scaffolding.

rather fascinating, to be honest, I'd never seen that before.

There is a cinema.

We have an art centre called the Edge Art centre, and there is a cinema, a very small cinema.

But yes, they do show films there,

but it isn't like one of those big cinemas.

It's not like one of those big

multiplex cinemas, nothing like that.
