English Addict - LIVE from San Gimignano in Italy 🍕 - Sun 16th June 2024

a very good afternoon to you from Italy we  are currently in a beautiful Town high up on  

a Hill Called San jimani and we are here Live  on YouTube I hope you are having a good day it  

is Sunday afternoon here in Italy I don't know  what time it is where you are because I'm not  

there at the moment I'm right here well I'm  not right here I'm just off camera but now  

I am right here hi everybody this is Mr Duncan  in Italy how are you today are you okay I hope  

so are you happy are you feeling happy I  hope you are feeling good on this lovely  

L Sunday we have had such a busy morning we  arrived here early this morning and there have  

been all sorts of festivities taking place lots  of loud trumpets and drums and all I can say is  

my head is now pounding with the beat of the  drums and I think I may have lost my hearing  

as well by the way can I just say we are standing  right next to a condom machine and just to prove

it so I don't know why we've decided to use this  particular point but yes so now you know that is  

where we are so we have all of our supplies ready  just in case because you never know when in Italy  

you have to be prepared for all of these events  and situations also joining me here of course  

he's just over there in fact it's Mr Steve hello  hello wonderful viewers from across the globe  

hello Mr Duncan hello Mr Steve we are now live in  a lovely place called San jimano sanano and it's a  

wonderful place it's been busy this morning lots  of festivals taking place lots of celebrations  

for various things and of course we have to  remember it is Sunday so in Italy Sunday is  

of course a very sacred day so they had lots  of things happening some religious but also  

other things as well lots of performances parades  there were acrobats there were jugglers the whole  

street was full of all sorts of things and we have  filmed some of it so we will show some of what we  

saw probably next Sunday on the live stream by the  way this is our final day of our holiday isn't it  

Steve yes uh it is it is our final day today  our final full day um but yes the festivities  

that we just saw I mean there must have been  hundreds of performers people waving flags  

and throwing Flags in the air trumpets drums drums  especially my poor my poor ears are still ringing  

from the drums it went on for about an hour we  weren't quite certain what it was it l looked  

like very it looked like a Medievil uh celebration  you thought it might have been different regions  

of um Italy yes I think it refers to the time when  Italy was divided so there were lots of different  

regions and I think different uh regions that  were ruled by different groups of people that's  

how I look at it I'm sure someone is going to  say Mr Duncan you stupid man you're wrong but  

I think that's what it was because Italy used to  be very divided in that way well if there's anyone  

uh Italian watching maybe they could tell us what  this celebration in San jimino was today well if  

you're here uh yes if because we'd like to know  there were no leaflets there were lots of people  

wearing medieval clothing it all looked as if it  was from medieval times and I am saying right now  

I think it it refers to those those days when  Italy was a little bit more divided there were  

juggling juggling actors while people juggling  balls there was there was a there was a a girl  

who had like three crystal balls in each hand and  she was juggling them and moving them around it  

was quite spectacular we' got it all on film yes  I said we we will show some of that next week yeah  

the way she handled those balls it looks as if she  had lots of experience of handling balls it was a  

very good act it was just spectacular but uh Mr  Dungan has filmed it all and he will be editing  

it all together okay and uh we'll show you in  uh in in another lesson so this is so this is  

final day here in Italy I do feel sad because  we have had the most amazing time not only San  

jimo here in Tuscany because that's where we are  the region we are in is Tuscany one of the most  

beautiful places in Italy if not the world  so we're in the uh the main Square here and  

uh everybody was watching the there were probably  about two or 300 people watching this performance  

and now they've all gone to eat so that's what  everybody is doing they're all eating at the  

moment I'm starving so as soon as we finish  this live stream we'll be off for our favorite  

meal with which we've had many of while we've  been here which is the good old lasagna we are  

having lasagna today as a way of saying farewell  to Italy so we do go back to England tomorrow  

and if you are watching in England how are  you enjoying the weather is it nice there I  

believe you've been having lots and lots of cold  weather and Rain isn't that a shame well I think  

we're going to bring some good weather back with  us because apparently the weather forecast for  

next week is very good in well it's better I mean  they are describing next week in England now don't  

laugh the the news uh in England is that next  week it is going to be 25° they've described it  

as a heat wave a heat wave now we we had a heat  wave in Rome about 4 days ago when it was 36° and  

we were standing we were standing in the middle  of the Coliseum and it was so hot we were all  

collapsing on the floor in fact I think I may have  been suffering from heat exhaustion I think you  

were I looked it up and you were suffering from a  lot of the symptoms of heat exhaustion uh which is  

quite dangerous uh because we went from England  at sort of 12° to Rome at 36° so it was quite a  

shock we were walking around all day in the hot  sun and even our two lovely companions Francesca  

and Christina uh were saying it was too hot so  if it's too hot for and Italian it's definitely  

too hot for Mr Duncan and Mr Steve talking of  which last Sunday if you remember we were in Rome  

doing our rendevu so we did have a lot of people  together so hello there if you are watching and if  

you were here with us last week in Rome we are now  in a different part of Italy but still enjoying  

ourselves I suppose today we should reflect  a little bit on our experience here in Italy  

reflect on what has happened I suppose we can talk  about the things that we like and the things that  

we maybe didn't like about Italy so that I think  there there are more good things than bad things  

so anyone watching in Italy we are not going to  say bad things but the might be some things that  

we were not entirely happy with well I would say  overall nine out of 10 uh there there aren't many  

bad things what what is nine out of 10 in Italian  because Steve can I also say how impressed I have  

been with Mr Steve and his amazing Italian you  have tried your best at every opportunity to use  

Italian wherever you could and I have to say if  I had my little machine that could play Applause  

then I would do it oh there goes the jester that's  one of the performers yet another fool that we saw  

earlier he was uh playing a strange instrument  which is obviously a very old traditional Italian  

instrument strument a big horn probably from  the Middle Ages uh lots of little groups and  

bands all doing performances it was very exciting  it's a shame we can't show you uh but we wouldn't  

have been able to show you live because it was  so loud well it was so crowded we couldn't we  

couldn't actually see for most of the time because  everyone was in front of us and of course you know  

what happens everyone holds up their phones it's  a bit like being at a pop concert everyone goes  

along to the pop concert and what's the first  thing they do they get their phones out and  

hold them up so all the people behind them can't  see anything Giovani Giovani rete is here hello  

hello hello live chat we haven't said hello to  the live chat yet hello live chat it's nice to  

see you here we are live live as live can be from  Italy now I suppose one of the things I have to  

say that I found I found a little bit annoying but  please don't be offended so we we we are talking  

about some of our impressions of Italy one of the  things that that was annoying for me especially  

at the moment because I'm suffering from hay  fever I've noticed that a lot of people in Italy  

still enjoy having a cigarette so in the UK we've  kind of almost cut out public cigarette smoking  

but here in Italy it seems that everyone is still  doing it and the problem with me because of my hay  

fever and everything is very sensitive When the  Smoke goes up my nose it is really really painful  

and also I start sneezing everywhere again we're  just talking little problems here overall I would  

say No 9 and 1 half I'm going higher 9 and 1 half  out of 10 okay a wonderful scene the the wine the  

attractive men and women of course I would I would  say seven out of 10 s I'm being realistic now  

Mr Steve is just trying to get favor from other  people but I'm being real you get the real thing  

from me seven out of 10 the smoking sometimes  annoying but fortunately of course people don't  

do it in public places or indoors so that's good  thank goodness for that another annoying thing  

is the hotel we're staying at is amazing but they  that for some reason they they put next to us one  

of the worst human beings that has ever existed  on the planet I don't know what he was doing but  

he was making so much noise he spent most of  the day on his phone shouting and screaming I  

think it was Italian but he he just would not  stop moving and banging around in the room and  

I think one night I think one night he had he  had a lady a lady in his room most of the time  

he was actually on his own but one night he had a  lady there we know he had a lady there because we  

could hear them let's just say the sound proofing  between the rooms uh was not optimal and it didn't  

help the fact that our bed the bed the the head  board where we were lying our heads or laying our  

heads let's not start that again start that one  let's not start that again debate the toilet was  

right behind us so every time they they went  to the toilet you could hear everything they  

were doing and I mean everything they were doing  yes it wasn't really their fault it was the uh  

problem with the sound proofing between the rooms  in the hotel that we staying but anyway we weren't  

there very much and for some reason I'm doing my  usual thing which annoys some people I start a  

sentence don't finish it and then start another  one Mr Steve is very good at doing that he will  

start he will start a sentence and then he will  interrupt himself halfway through the sentence  

with something else and I don't know anyone else  who can do that who can actually have a thought  

and then interrupt that thought whilst they are  expressing it it's a very unique thing so that's  

two things we mustn't give the impression though  that we uh talking all about the negatives no well  

there are negatives and positives England England  is a horrible place by the way never go to England  

it's much worse than anywhere else you see I'm  being fair so that's two things I suppose another  

thing well something positive before Mr Steve  starts getting worried a positive thing of course

is the food oh my goodness I cannot begin to tell  you how good the food is in Italy it is absolutely  

incredible isn't it Steve yes we haven't had a  bad meal actually that's not true um we did have  

one meal which we didn't like but that's probably  because I didn't we didn't like uh ravioli with  

blue cheese it the middle it was disgusting it  was ravioli little pockets of pasta but inside was  

this moldy green cheese it that wasn't very nice  it wasn't very nice if we knew that that's what  

was in there we wouldn't have ordered it so that  was we're talking minor we're nitpicking it is  

Mr Steve's fault we're nit picking around the  edges because every Pizza we've had all right  

well we know I think people realize we're not  just criticizing Italy there are always good  

things and bad things aren't there yeah you said  well again you see somebody said that that they're  

sorry sorry that the hotel wasn't very the hotel  was lovely no the hotel was fantastic fantastic  

it was luxurious it had a pool it had two pools  not that we've been in any of them there were  

lots of people staying there some of them had dogs  please don't ask me why anyone brings their dog on  

Hos on holiday and the other thing is some of them  brought their babies who brings their little baby  

to a place like this and one or two of them was  screaming all the way from America one of them  

screaming well it's very hard to tell with with  with anyone from the US because they all scream  

and squark don't they really yes oh Mr Steve  agreed with me then can't have been very nice  

for the baby traveling seven or probably more  like eight or 9 hours on a plane uh you know a  

two 1 and a half half year or 2y old baby be very  nice for them that's even worse isn't it the worst  

thing being on an airplane Mr Steve and someone's  got a screaming baby and of course babies do not  

travel well on airplanes because their little  ears become painful because of the change in air  

pressure so if you are thinking of taking your  baby with you on an airplane don't just don't  

do it leave it somewhere else just just leave it  with relative don't take it with you please please  

please please because you will be spoiling our  breakfast somebody asked earlier on the live chat  

it's very difficult by the way it's very difficult  for us to see the live chat because um it's on Mr  

Duncan's very small phone we're filming this uh  broadcasting this live stream on a phone M can I  

say hello to the live chat we've got quite a few  people are you in Italy hello Mustafa we are Musta  

had asked earlier what is your favorite food  in Italy so it's going to be a tossup oh really  

uh if we say toss-up it means we haven't quite  decided one or the other a bit like tossing a coin  

a between um lasagna uh or just a pizza because  the pizzas here are gorgeous uh Francesca uh her  

favorite food is the um eggplant with Parmesan  cheese and we've had that and it is absolutely  

delicious in fact if you combine the two eggplant  and Parmesan with a lasagna you get I think the  

perfect meal that sounds great it's a bit like  do in Florence that's it so we have also been  

to Rome we spent about 3 days in Rome we had our  big Rondevu which we really did in enjoy very much  

even though Christina had a little drama talking  of Dramas I had one as well about 3 days ago I had  

a horrible fall you may have heard about it also  we went to Florence which was a strange experience  

because we we really didn't know what to expect  and when we arrived there we weren't very  

impressed my advice to anyone going to Florence  is if you go on the train and you come out of  

the uh station you go left all the attractions  are you come out of the station and go left but  

the first Square you come to here are some of  the uh performers coming by probably going for  

their dinner now okay Steve uh if you go left the  first Square you come to is absolutely horrible  

well I hope people are making a note of that  so don't forget you come out the gate you turn  

left you don't go right you follow all the other  people if in doubt just follow everyone else just  

follow everyone else and then go straight past  the first Square don't even stop and then carry  

on towards the the lovely churches and the the  many squares that are far more beautiful than the  

first one you're looking for the big square that  has all of the reproductions of the Michelangelo  

statues including his famous David statue as well  yes how strange maranne says did you see the David  

Statue from Florence a huge item of art we didn't  go in to see the real one I think the real one  

is slightly larger but we did see the one outside  and I think that is a reproduction that isn't the  

real one I don't think they would they wouldn't  leave the real one outside I think that's actually  

protected it's a bit like the monaa you wouldn't  put the monaa outside the museum would you unless  

you were crazy something like that anyway yes  Mr duner and Mr Steve how are you when did you  

go to Italy we've been here for where have you  been we've been here for over a week in Italy  

doing all sorts of things including our Rendevous  last week we had a huge rendevu last week we had  

a huge Rendevous so if you haven't seen that  there is a um a a a live stream that Mr Duncan  

has uploaded showing all the lovely friends the  YouTube friends that we met in Roma and there is  

a lovely video uh where we introduce everybody  we have a bit of chat and so do watch that if  

you haven't watched that yet for those wondering  where we are we will step aside for a moment and  

let you see what what is going on around us look  at this look at this so we are now at at the top  

of a hill in a place place called San jimano  and it is in Tuscany not very far away from  

another beautiful place called Sienna which is  very similar to this place and this particular  

place we are in now is famous for its Brownstone  buildings large squares but also its towers as  

well I might be able let's just see if I can do  it I might be able to quickly show you the tower  

there it is so there is one of the towers in  San jimo we are in sanano so wonderful views  

everywhere around except for right behind the  camera yes do you want to show the viewers the  

what we're actually looking at cuz we're a against  of War I already have I know but that was right at  

the beginning so maybe some people have joined so  this is the view that you have that ween that but  

we're facing a very different view this is the  other camera so let me put the other camera on  

and you will see what Steve means we have we have  a condom machine right next to us yes and no one  

has come to take any condoms out of the machine  because I suppose they are a little bit afraid  

to do it just in case we we broadcast it live so  that's the that's the what we're looking at you're  

looking at this wonderful view it's weird because  we don't have that we don't have that in the UK  

you can't just walk down the street in the UK and  they have condom machines everywhere so it's very  

unusual it's very unusual in this most picturesque  beautiful uh village town town I would say town  

it's a town to have a condom machine right in the  middle of the square but of course we are in the  

place that is passionate wow so I would imagine  because of the combination of the Heat and of  

course that blue or should I say red blooded male  testosterone going around the average Italian male  

body they are probably always ready for a bit of  Hanky Panky so you know you need to get your two  

at the rate how much are they €1 actually that's  quite expensive I suppose it would be worth it  

though some of the the larger ones are 15 oh right  okay we we we don't need those well yes maybe yeah  

I mean we haven't had any offers yet I mean if we  stand here long enough Mr Duncan uh we might get  

some Italian men coming along thinking that we're  actually you know available for let's just say a  

bit of action well we are standing right next to  the condom machine so it's not a very subtle hint  

is it we thought we thought it would be a very  good place to to stand because we knew that nobody  

else would stand here and thus we could  uh broadcast the live stream unencumbered  

unencumbered unencumbered if if if you say  unencumbered it means you are not Disturbed there  

are no obstacles around you you won't be bothered  by other things unencumbered it's a great word  

it's very very good so as as predicted we've had  absolutely no interference from the locals there's  

the police going by Mr there was a dog sniffing  me uh ice a dog just sniffed me right okay I  

can't I can't tell you where the dog sniffed me  but let's just say I have a very wet damp patch  

the dog is now uh get trying to get condoms out  of the machine so it must think that you're on

heat just a anyway hi everybody this is Mr Duncan  in England no not really I'm joking thank you Mr  

Steve for that thought so you've definitely got  the best view uh uh we're just looking at uh all  

sorts of different uh makes of condom okay Steve  you you seem to be quite fixated by the condom  

machine I don't know why so the place we are  in is ancient it is very old with lots of old  

ancient traditions of course most places if you  go anywhere in Italy one of the things you will  

notice is there are chapels and churches almost  everywhere every single place that's what we were  

told the other day by one of the locals because we  said there was there was a small Church in in the  

place where we were walking around and she said  that there are churches everywhere everywhere has  

a church you can't go very far in Italy without  finding a church or or a little area where where a  

miracle took place so we did notice that straight  away uh there's been no Miracles uh that we've  

seen since we've been in Italy uh there's still  plenty of time though we've still got at least  

another 24 hours the miracle I'm waiting for is  getting 100 viewers today but we only have 56 I  

thought there would be more people watching look  look at the trouble that we've gone to we're in  

Italy we're standing in the street surrounded by  people we could get kidnapped or or mugged a dog  

could bite my leg Anything could happen so another  positive thing Steve about Italy the motorists  

the drivers are so kind and considerate they are I  really want to live here just so I can walk around  

and and not get killed by a car yes well luckily  well I was going to rent a car wasn't I Mr Duncan  

but uh we were going to go and see Christina  who we know lives in genua but unfortunately  

we discovered that the trains would have taken  anything between four and 5 hours to get there  

so we abandoned that plan and I didn't bring my  driver's license with me so we couldn't hire a  

car uh but we will do that next time we go I think  because then we can do some more exploring another  

thing we like the trains the trains run incredibly  well paa with we went to Pisa station and that's  

where we went to from Rome to Pisa and I have to  say the station there is quite weird because as  

Steve said earlier you can't find your way out  it's a very strange station Rome Railway Station  

by the way is incredible it's the most amazing  railway station wonderful I think it's got 17 17  

platforms that's a big railway station yes and we  had to keep a a good watch on the uh announcements  

to make sure that we didn't get on the wrong  train Steve Steve keeps panicking if there's  

one thing I've noticed during this holiday Steve  has panicked a lot no about everything rubbish  

all the time rubbish Mr D although although Mr  Steve did have a little scare the other day we  

did have a little moment because I did fall  over you may have seen the video video or the  

the pictures on Facebook there it is look there  is one of my injuries but you might notice that it  

is now healing quite well because of all of this  wonderful fresh air and sunshine in Italy so my my  

wound or my wounds because I did injure everything  look look at my poor arm look what I did look what  

happened to me I got injured so I will always  remember this holiday today uh yes Giovani retti  

we would like to visit one of the Lakes uh Lake  Garda or com KO um but we didn't have time there's  

so much to explore in Italy um that we will have  to save the Lakes I think for next time yes and we  

will go I think further north next time uh to  the mountains there some beautiful scenery to  

the coast um but we just haven't had time this a  holiday for us so we did want to relax the problem  

with Italy is it's very big and it's rather like  having a table of different types of food there  

are many different things you can sample on the  table and that really is Italy because you can go  

from one part of Italy to another part of Italy  and everything is very different you have the  

lovely Riviera you have Tuscany which is where  we are at the moment I have to say one of the  

most beautiful places ever you have the crazy the  crazy atmosphere of Rome Rome is an amazing place  

but I think if you are coming to Italy Steve  you've got to spend maybe two or even 3 weeks  

here in Italy so you can go around and look at  all the places yeah so if anyone watching would

doing their own holidays in fact Francesca is  uh I think in Romania mhm she's been to see uh  

Dracula's castle very interesting we actually saw  a a bit of video footage that Francesca filmed  

herself of Dracula Castle I know we said to her if  if if we find out that you're now working nights  

instead of days we know that uh Count Dracula's  got to you and you're now a vampire so he was he  

was actually based on was it Vlad the Impaler is  that true I don't know Mr duner but that sounds  

like it could be right another of our friends  uh lovely beatric uh is now in who's come from  

Argentina to see us in Roma is now in the UK yes  berries hello Beatrice we haven't said hello yet  

but hello I hope you are having a good time in  England I believe you are now in Bristol you were  

in Bath for a short time you were having a bath or  you were in Bath I'm not sure but now you are in  

Bristol so I hope you've settled in well with your  lovely lovely time in England oh we got Maran from  

Romania did you know that Francesca one of our  regular viewers was visiting your country uh only  

in fact I think she's still there now Franchesca  yeah Francesca was visit visiting Romania wasn't  

she yes yeah but we just had somebody on who  is from Romania oh I see if we uh if I better  

not uh if you go back one on the live chat Mr  Duncan we'll be able to see who it was learned  

any Italian gestures because a lot of Italians  will speak with their hands I agree I've noticed  

that Italians are very Maran expressive Italians  are I think Mr Mr Steve is having a separate live  

stream Italians talk Italians are very expressive  with their hands when they are talking they they  

smoke and they use their hands a lot sorry Steve  no I was saying it's Maran who's watching his name  

now is from Romania but Francesca uh is one  of our regular viewers and she is now in your  

country so it was Vlad the Impaler I was right  look at that I get the prize today for being the  

smartest person here well we haven't uh we haven't  asked anybody else yet so you know we don't know  

if that is actually correct I'm just wondering is  this a typical Sunday in San jimano is it is it a  

typical Sunday here because it's been absolutely  crazy with all of the festivities and all of the  

things happening we were standing around in  the in the heat watching this huge performance  

there were trumpets and drums and all sorts of  things going on we will show you some of that  

next Sunday I suppose I should mention quickly  we are back in England next Sunday 2: p.m. UK  

time one other favorite food and something we're  going to sample after this live stream uh is of  

course the ice cream which of course it's called  here what's it called Mr Duncan you I love gelato  

gelato oh my gosh oh can I just say the ice  cream here is amazing I am madly passionately  

in love with Italian chocolate and ice cream it is  absolutely delicious I think I may be returning to  

England slightly heavier than I arrived here in  Italy we definitely one thing we've discovered is  

that you see in the UK when you have chocolate ice  cream in the UK it's revolting it is chocolate ice  

cream here is just absolutely delicious because  they must use proper cocoa in it whereas in the  

UK it's some kind of fake horrible flavor it's  just cheap and horrible in the UK but here all  

of the ice cream the gelato is what they call it  it is absolutely incredible belisimo we'd still  

like to know what was going on here today in San  jimano uh was it some kind of special Festival  

uh or do they do this every Sunday uh maybe  Giovani you can look this up and see what was  

going on in San jimano today what I think was  happening today there were two things happening  

at the same time so I think every Sunday here they  have the religious service but also today was was  

something extra happening so I think we picked a  really good day to come here didn't we Steve we  

picked a really good day to come here absolutely  we didn't know it was just random we just turned  

up here and we could tell there's lovely red  flags draping hanging from the buildings and  

there was obviously some kind of special what's  what G what is Giovani saying there main cities  

it could be that for sure at the beginning of the  high season yeah that was I don't know if it was  

just for the tourists or whether it was I think  that I mean there were mostly Italians here yeah  

well as I said there was the religious ceremony  taking place and the other one at the same time  

yeah so yeah I think it was a combination it was  the the the the man said so the man who was doing  

all the comparing he actually said that yes he  was a very excellent compare very very expressive  

and uh he was speaking in English Italian I heard  some French uh so he was obviously playing to the  

crowd and uh it was delicious the Coco is full of  love it was made by children oh okay okay that's  

good Steve by the way can we can we have the the  live feed from the condom machine let's just see  

what is happening let's see if anyone is using the  condom machine is anyone using the condom machine  

no nobody no one's using we are standing right  next to this machine you know what no no one has  

used it yet no one's used it do you see that queue  go just go back that way Mr Duncan uh this the  

other way wa which way that way there we go can  you see that queue of people well oh can you see  

that long queue of people okay and they're behind  us as well yes you can move the camera back now Mr  

Duncan that long queue of people are queuing for  the gelat yeah so you can see how good the ice  

cream here is it's it's actually behind us now  so if you you can see people behind us they are  

actually in the queue to buy the ice cream it's so  good I know there's two shops here both claiming  

that they've got the best gelato in Italy both of  them have claims that that one shop and another  

shop just a few yards away one one shop says it is  the best in Italy and the other one says it is the  

best in the world yes so uh take your pick well  I suppose technically they are both the best in  

Italy if they if one of them is the best in the  world so it was will still be the best in Italy  

because it it includes everywhere in the world  it's a good job there are two shops because uh  

the quey would be twice as long at this one shop  there must there's obviously a lot of business  

for gelato um here in San jimano if not across the  whole of tourist places in Italy so if you needed  

an indication as to how good the ice cream is take  a look at the queue that is going all the way down  

there so all of the queue look there it is so all  of these people are queuing for the gelato yes so  

now we know how just how good it must be we could  interview some of them and ask them which flavors  

they're going to get I don't think we will do  that I think Mr Steve you need to improve your  

Italian quite a lot well maybe most of them are in  fact tourists uh but uh it it must be good they're  

all queuing they're not queuing for a bus well no  no we we've just said they're queuing for the ice  

cream they're queuing for the ice cream that's  and they're certainly not queuing for the condom

machine we're on the internet are you queuing for  ice cream yes yes see ice cream is it good ice  

cream I heard it's the best in the world what  flavor are you going for Pistachio Pistachio  

Pistachio it's not my favorite I I prefer mango  I like the mango you like mango don't you I do  

I do like mango I thought so she looks like a  mango girl I think so she's a girl that likes  

mango I like mango as well hello there we've got  interaction interaction anything can happen now I  

think okay Steve I don't really want to be taken  away in the police car I think we've got yeah I  

know it's incredible what's what's wrong they're  just queuing for the for the ice cream this is  

this is the queue so behind me there there are  around about 200 people now queuing for ice cream  

if you needed any recommendation for the ice  cream here in Italy this queue is proof of it  

yes oh we're having a lovely time here in San Jim  everyone keeps banging into me yes the trouble is  

now because there's a big queue that has developed  there's no space for for people to actually get by  

so we're going to have to get very close to the  camera Mr aren't we otherwise it's going to this  

might be the closest I've ever been we just spoke  then to some lovely American people who as we say  

are queuing for the ice cream uh pistachio is What  that particular lady wanted there must have a bit  

of pistachio see I like pistachio that's that's  the kind of nut isn't it and pistachios are very  

strange because when you get them they are they  normally have a little shell on the outside so  

you have to take the shell off and then inside you  have the little pistachio nut something like that  

anyway my stomach's rumbling with oh I'll tell you  I had a little story here I needed to go to the  

toilet Mr Steve needed the toilet just before the  live stream began I was just [Music] and well Mr  

Steve realized that there was a problem there was  a problem because uh we used this same toilet the  

other day you need one Euro to get into the toilet  to use the public toilets here in San J minaro  

um but I didn't have one Euro I I didn't have a 1  coin but I had lots of 50 cent coins but it didn't  

take 50 cent coin I couldn't put 250 cent coins in  to make Euro wow so uh I was so desperate I had to  

find a corner of a street Mr Duncan so are you  telling us Mr Steve now live on YouTube that you  

had a wee we in the street it's probably against  the law I probably could have been arrested but I  

was so desperate and we only had it was only five  minutes to go before the live stream I to relieve  

myself in in a public place do you realize there  is nowhere in the world that has legalized public  

urination I don't think there is any country  that where you can actually just openly have  

a wee wee so how dare you Mr Steve insulting the  the Italian culture by taking a little wee wee on  

the street was in a quite a Scenic area but I  had to be very careful to make sure that there  

was nobody coming at that particular point but I  was lucky I got away with it I just can't believe  

I can't believe you did it so is it uh is anybody  watching from Italy I know Giovani is watching is  

it illegal to urinate in public I can tell you now  Steve it is it is illegal nowhere do you honestly  

think for a minute Steve that there is a country  that allows people to just take we in the street  

well we did I anyway actually having said that in  France they have those little public toilets that  

you just go behind it's like a little piece of  metal and and they are almost almost public but  

not quite not quite so that's the only place I  can think of they're making a fortune here uh  

in the toilets I'll tell you because one is quite  a lot really when you think about it and uh there  

was a big queue people going in and out in and  out fascinating you can even use a you can even  

use your bank card you could what uh to get into  this particular toilet well why didn't you use  

that well because the lady in front of me couldn't  get hers to work uh she kept using it and she was  

sorry Steve why was there a lady in front of you  in the toilet well well because you get all go in  

the same way and then the men go to the right and  the ladies go to the left you haven't started you  

haven't okay Steve you haven't started using the  lady's toilet have you there isn't something you  

want to tell me no you you go in the main building  you put your one euro into the machine okay but uh  

it does accept credit cards and bank cards but  this young lady in front of me she can't have  

be more than 20 she couldn't get it to work she  hadn't got any coins and uh she couldn't get it  

to work so she went off with her legs crossed  um and I thought and I tried too Steve Steve  

can I just cut this story off because it has  already reached the point of being B of being  

very boring bedom very boring story so there are  lots of things we like here the the ice cream the  

friendly traffic and the friendly drivers they  are all all lovely I want to give every single  

driver every single motorist in Italy a big hug  and a big because you are so lovely give yourself  

a round of applause please and and the food is  great the food is lovely there are some bad things  

of course everyone smokes but that's it really I  might start smoking we've noticed that there is a  

um particular machine that people are using for  smoking here in Italy haven't seen it in the UK  

yet it looks like it's a vape machine it's like  a square box but you actually put the cigarette  

in in the top of the machine it it actually does  exist uh I've never seen these before but they're  

very popular here in Italy yes it's so you  can smoke you take the nicotine hit but you  

don't produce lots and lots of smoke around you  all right uh well it's looks very expensive uh  

I think I might try that good no one's offered  me a [ __ ] yet no if if you stand around here  

asking for a [ __ ] you might get something very  very different indeed to thisx machine okay Steve  

these are not funny things you're saying they're  just weird things Mr dunan I don't think we should  

stop doing the live stream until we can persuade  somebody to come and buy everyone everyone is  

banging into me they're all they will anyway I've  I've got to move on something else before people  

start tuning away which is what they're actually  doing I think it was the queuing for the toilet  

story that did it look Giani yes sorry Giovani I  think has put some information on about what was  

going on in San jinaro today okay if you scroll  up all right this could be very interesting right  

well interesting for who because I must say it's  very difficult for us to uh no that's about the  

toilet yes no it's legal only in the countryside  perhaps yes well I guessed that anyway I don't  

think any country would ever say that you can take  a Wei nobody no one anyway no one saw Mr Steve  

even though he has kind of confessed to it on the  internet and well maybe maybe they will stop you  

tomorrow at the airport because we are leaving  Italy tomorrow I know I know what you're going to  

say Mr Duncan you said you were going to come to  see us I can't see everyone we only have a a short  

time in Italy I'm afraid I'm ever so sorry about  that yes but as we say we're going to come back  

and we're going to go maybe up to the north next  time but of course that's for that's information  

for another time Mr Duncan I'm getting quite  hungry we are making plans for next year of course  

for those wondering because we have had a lot of  people asking about next year the next rendevu the  

next meeting for everyone and there will be one  taking place we don't know where yet we haven't  

decided but there are some plans up here in my  head it is going around and around but we will  

be back tomorrow in England we're going back  and then of course everything is back to normal

what happened Mr Duncan as soon as we arrived here  there were Street events uh there were there was  

the music the drums and I it really affected me  deeply emotionally and I'm not quite sure why I  

was quite unexpected but I I just wanted to burst  into tears it was just so wonderful uh I think  

that shows I've relaxed that we're having a lovely  holiday and that it was almost like a calling Mr  

Duncan something from deep within my genetic  memory was was being stirred by these medieval  

events and the music and the sound and the sights  and I became quite emotional almost uncontrollably  

emotional uh usually I'm very much in control of  my emotions Mr D so all of the feelings you were  

describing there the feeling of wanting to burst  into tears you are actually experiencing what most  

of our viewers experience every Sunday that's  the kind of derogatory remark I expect from you  

Mr Duncan but it's still funny it's still funny  we've been here for 52 minutes and now there is  

an ambulance there is an ambulance it's not coming  for us don't worry an ambulance is coming around  

move aside it's going to get very Coy here so  there is an ambulance one thing I've noticed  

the ambulances have the most amazing sound  it's like two sounds at the same time it's

like and

also playing at the same time so those two  sounds are actually happening at the same time  

you can't miss it it's it's an incredible sound  and once you've heard it you never forget it  

never ever forget it Mr Steve yes Mr Duncan what  are we going to eat today well I'm having lasagna  

there's no doubt about it followed by gelato when  this queue becomes smaller yes because now they're  

there there are well I think it might be about 150  people queuing for the ice cream there a a lot of  

them um they won't be disappointed you won't be  disappointed it is lovely ice cream we went we  

we were there the other couple of days ago uh and  it is spectacular but I think we'll try the other  

one because I don't know let's just try the other  let's just try let's just try it let's just try  

go to both let try let's just try the other one  Mr St let's try the other one dou you're right

to this one we're going to have we're going to  have lasagna first so first of all we will have  

some lasagna because I am also hungry like Mr  Steve is and then we will have a little bit of

about 5 minutes we will let you carry on with  your Sunday and we will carry on with the last  

day of our holiday because we are going back to  England tomorrow cold cold wet England everyone  

has been complaining in England about the weather  here it's been amazing if you look around today  

you can see it's sunny it's warm the highest  temperature we had was in Rome wasn't it it  

was 36° in Rome last week almost too hot today  it's around about 26 so that's not too bad it  

feels very comfortable we've managed to find nice  shade to stand in next to the condom machine yes  

obviously they don't want the condom machine  in the sun because the rubber uh will perish  

it will all it will all melt there's nothing worse  than a melted condom because you know what happens  

after that you don't want the rubber to perish in  the sun no because they will you will be spending  

the rest of your month worried about whether or  not you are going to have a Bambino on the way  

it's good to know though that they practice safe  sex in Italy it is very good good to know it's  

very good it's very good to know it's always a  good thing I always travel to countries where  

they they have condom machines everywhere in the  street I think we should end the live stream with

is very very strange but never mind we've had a  lovely time here and that's what counts maritzio  

says have a good trip to Much Wenlock very much I  don't know if we are going to enjoy the trip back  

to much wilock but I have to say if I had a choice  well to be honest I don't think I could choose I  

think it would be very hard to choose between  Italy and Much Wenlock because they both have  

good things and bad things just like everywhere  in the world so whether it is Italy or any country  

even England or the United States or any other  country in the world there are always good parts  

and bad parts there is an upside and a downside  well I would say there were far more upsid far  

more upsides to this holiday than downside I'm  giving it 9 and a half except for when M except  

for when Mr Steve was complaining which was a lot  I do a lot of that at home so you know obviously  

habits are very difficult to break but no we've  got to look at the overall picture of the holiday  

so how do we feel overall 9 and a half out of  10 that gelato has got to be worth that long  

queue because I I think people are queuing for  15 20 minutes are you still talking Steve we've  

got a lot of gen Z behind us a lot of generation  Zed behind us they're all getting very excited a  

lot more psychologically robust than we're led to  believe in the newspapers what J you're supposed  

to be snowflakes aren't they according to what  the media says well if if you believe everything  

people tell you on the television yes it isn't  always like that people we've created a lot of  

excitement so so people were waiting in the queue  but they didn't realize they were going to be on  

a live stream today Mr Duncan do you think that  uh is actually for us I think this guy this guy  

wants to use the condom machine are you waiting  are you waiting for the are you waiting for that  

no do you do that no no no we're just we're uh  it's okay you can go no one's come to use it here  

a good thing but very interesting to see that in  this lovely Square it's theil times it's the the  

Italians are so passionate you see exact they  can't stop coulden it could happen exactly sex  

it could happen at any moment that urge I haven't  had any I haven't had any office yet is this like

to us though oh interaction Mr dunan American did  you hear those accents American lots of Americans  

I think people could work that one out they did  sound like Americans yes you're right Steve well  

though it's good that we've got there's so many  people visiting here of different nationalities  

I think I thought they wanted to use the condom  machine you see that's why we were standing in  

the way but they didn't uh it's probably too hot  at the I'm very I'm very sure that I won't be  

using the condom machine I'm definitely sure so  we offer our our uh delicious lasagna Mr we are  

going to find a place to have something to eat  we have finished cheering up the tourists here

as well you see you get lots of other people  as well and they are somebody's trying to come  

through with a Bambino Bambinos coming through one  Bambino one Bambino coming through see maybe he he  

used one of those condoms from the machine that  had been in the Sun for too long rubber perished  

and it didn't work and then N9 months later  he had a Little Bambino unfortunately to take  

care of are you sure Mr Duncan that this queue  isn't for us uh for autographs it's going in  

the opposite direction oh oh well it was worth a  try I'm used to seeing people going away from me  

i' I'm not used to seeing people come towards me  it's always a very strange situation to be honest
