Saying how you feel about something you see

expresses your view of the world to me,

If it is good or if it is bad, to hear your opinion always makes me feel glad.

Unless what you say has the opposite sight, then there could be a problem

and we might start to fight.

In our everyday lives,

we will often find ourselves in a situation where we have to express how we feel about something.

Generally speaking, there are two ways of expressing how we might feel

about each of the things that exist and occur in the world around us.

We can express a positive view

or a negative view.

We might express excitement or dread.

A person can be enthusiastic or reluctant.

There may also be an occasional third option,

which is when a person has no strong feeling either way.

That is to say their feeling is neither good nor bad.

They are indifferent, unmoved and apathetic.

They could not care less.

They don't care either way.

The level or strength of feeling

can be expressed in many ways, the stronger we feel about something,

then the more we want to express that feeling,

especially when describing an experience.

The feeling is personal.

It is what we actually feel about something.

These feelings are expressed in the form of words

that are either positive or negative.

Good or bad,

we might also express the level of pleasure we feel about something we have done

or will do in the future.

Then there are the things we did not enjoy

or a future event that we do not want to do.

A painful event or an unpleasant experience

will always be expressed in a negative way.

Something you did not enjoy and would never do again.

There are many words in English

that allow us to express the level of how pleasurable or painful an experience was or might be.

In the positive sense,

you might feel that something was OK.

It was not bad.

It was OK.

We are saying that the thing in question was not bad,

but also not memorable.

The party was OK, but not very exciting.

I had an OK time at the party, but it was nothing special.

You might say that the use of OK in those sentences

gives the impression that the party was neither good nor bad.

It was just OK.

There are many words that we can use to describe

something we want to do or are glad we did.

You might express how you feel before doing something

or after it has occurred.

It will be good.

It was good.

It will be exciting.

It was exciting.

It will be interesting.

It was interesting.

It will be fun.

It will be a pleasure.

It was a pleasure.

It will be great.

There are many ways of expressing a positive feeling.

It's OK.

I'm OK.

To feel excited about something you will do

can be described as enthusiasm.

It is the feeling of excitement about a future event.

Enthusiasm is the noun and enthusiastic is the adjective.

A person appears excited and enthusiastic.

They are looking forward to an event.

They can't wait for it.

They are expressing enthusiasm.

I can't wait to see my family again.

I can't wait for Christmas to arrive.

I really want to visit my auntie again.

I am enjoying my time with you.

You will notice that enthusiasm

can also be expressed as desire,

something you wish to do, something you want to do one day.

You are enthusiastic,

you express enthusiasm.

You are eager for something to happen.

You are hyped for it.

You are pumped for it.

You are stoked for it.

Of course, there is the opposite of enjoying

something that has happened or will happen.

The negative feeling of disliking or feeling unwilling to do something

can also be described in many ways.

You can express it in the form of an opinion... what you thought of something

you've already experienced or done, or how you feel

about doing a particular thing in the future.

It was bad.

It will be bad.

It was awful.

It will be awful.

It was dire.

It will be dire.

It was appalling.

It will be appalling.

It was horrible.

It will be horrible.

It was dismal.

It will be dismal.

It was terrible.

It will be terrible.

It was dross.

It will be dross.

It was shit.

It was dreadful.

A thing not yet done might make you feel unhappy.

You do not want to do that thing.

You are not looking forward to doing it.

I'm dreading going to the dentist next week.

I am not looking forward to going back to work.

I really don't want to meet my parents this weekend.

I don't feel like travelling that long distance.

I wish I didn't have to give that speech next month.

The thing you are going to do is making

you feel nervous, anxious or just generally unhappy.

You feel reluctant to do it.

You dread the arrival of that moment.

You do not want to do it.

You are looking for a way out of having to do it.

You don't want

to do it at all.

It would be fair to say

that each one of us experiences the world around us in different ways.

Sometimes these differences can lead to disagreement and conflict,

while others try to see both of the opinions expressed

and come to some sort of understanding.

one person's good experience might be someone else's idea of hell.

You really want to go to Disneyland,

while another person might hate the thought of going there.

One person's like might be another person's nightmare.

We all have different tastes and desires.

We may not always agree, but as long as

we are willing to share and express our differences

without wanting to fight and squabble,

then there is hope for all of us.
