Learn the English Phrases TO COVER FOR and COVER TO COVER

In this English lesson, I wanted

이번 영어 수업에서는

to help you learn the English phrase "to cover for".

"to cover for"라는 영어 표현을 배우는 데 도움을 드리고 싶었습니다.

Now this phrase has two meanings.

이제 이 문구에는 두 가지 의미가 있습니다.

It can mean that you lie for someone

그것은 누군가가 나쁜 일을 할 때 당신이 누군가를 위해 거짓말을 한다는 것을 의미할 수 있습니다

when they do something bad.

Maybe my brother, when I was younger,

would like to steal cookies

At work, sometimes another teacher is sick,

The second phrase I wanted to teach

it means that you really, really liked it.

If you've just recently read a book

최근에 책을 읽었고

and you really liked it, you could say,

정말 마음에 든다면

"Ah, the book was amazing.

"아, 그 책은 정말 멋졌어. 처음부터 끝까지

"I read it cover to cover."

읽었어."라고

Now when you read a book cover to cover,

it means you read the whole thing,

but when you read a book,

you usually do read the whole thing.

So it's, I guess, just a way to emphasize
