Meaning of A BIT MUCH - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English when you describe something as being a bit much what you are saying is

that you find it to be excessive, usually in the negative sense of the word.

Maybe you remember being in school and you may have found all of the rules a bit much.

Maybe there were too many rules for your liking and you would, you would have described that

as that you thought it was a bit much.

You can also use this to describe people.

You could say that somebody is a bit much.

You might have a friend who talks a lot when you have a conversation.

Maybe when you have a conversation they talk more than you do and you could say that you

think that person is a bit much.

You could say when you have a conversation with them they are a bit much.

And basically what you're saying is that they're talking a little too much.

They're a little bit overwhelming when you have a conversation.

So we have the saying, "a bit much", you can also say that someone is too much.

You might have a friend or someone you know who, they're just so excited and they're so

energetic and they talk so much when you're with them you could say that they are too

much.

You could just say, you know my friend Joe, he is too much sometimes.

He is just a little bit overwhelming and he talks way too much.
