Meaning of MARK MY WORDS - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles #shorts

So you don't often hear the phrase, "Mark my words!", in everyday English, but you do

hear it a lot in English movies or on English television.

And it's usually said just before the character predicts something that will happen in the

future.

So you might have someone say, "Mark my words!

I will have my revenge someday!"

So maybe you're watching a movie where the main character has had something done to them

and by someone else and they're saying, "Mark my words!

I will have my revenge!"

So they're basically saying I'm going to predict that I am going to get revenge someday.

You might also hear this when someone predicts something amazing that they think will happen.

You could have someone say, "Mark my words!

We will go to the moon again someday!"
