Housework: Phrasal verbs with Georgie

I'm Georgie. Let's get into it.

I want to make some food.

So first, I turn on the hob and put the frying pan on top.

Next, I pick up some ingredients and put them in the frying pan.

After cooking and eating,

I pick up the plates, I throw away

OK, let's look at these verbs

'Turn something on' means 'to start or give power to something electric

'무언가를 켜다'는 '전기적이거나 기계적인 것에 시동을 걸거나 전력을 공급하다

or mechanical'. You can turn on the TV, the light, the tap.

'라는 뜻입니다. TV, 조명, 수도꼭지를 켤 수 있습니다.

'Turn off' means the opposite.

'끄다'는 그 반대의 뜻이다.

Both of these verbs can be separated.

이 두 동사는 분리될 수 있습니다.

'Pick something up' means 'to grab something and lift it'.

'Pick someone up'은 '무언가를 집어 들어 올리다'라는 뜻입니다.

This verb can also be separated. 'Clean up' means 'to make something clean'.

이 동사는 분리될 수도 있습니다. 'Clean up'은 '무언가를 깨끗하게 하다'라는 뜻입니다.

You cooked,

I'll clean up. The verb

doesn't need an object:

it works on its own,

but you can use it with an object as well.

'Throw something away' means 'to dispose of

'버릴 것'은 '

or discard something'. We mostly use this when we put something in the bin.

무언가를 버리거나 버리다'라는 뜻이다. 우리는 주로 쓰레기통에 물건을 넣을 때 이것을 사용합니다.

This verb can be separated. 'Wash something up' in British English

이 동사는 분리될 수 있습니다. 영국식 영어로 'Wash Something Up'은

means 'to wash the dishes, cutlery and pots and pans'.

'접시, 수저류, 냄비와 팬을 씻다'라는 뜻입니다.

It can be used with or without an object and it can be separated.

물체와 함께 사용하거나 분리하여 사용할 수 있습니다.

'Put something away' means 'to put something in its original place

'놓다'는 ' 어떤 것을 사용한 후 원래 자리에 두다

after using it'.

'라는 뜻입니다.

It can also be separated.

분리도 가능합니다.

'Take something out' means to remove something from somewhere

꺼내다'는 것은 어딘가에 있는 것을 꺼내서

and put it in another place'.

다른 곳에 두는 것을 의미합니다.

If you take the bins out,

쓰레기통을 꺼내면

you take them from the house and put them outside.

집에서 꺼내서 밖에 놓는다.

'Hang something up' means you suspend it above ground.

'Hang Something Up'은 땅 위에 매달아 두는 것을 의미합니다.

So if you hang up your clothes,

그래서 옷을 걸어두면

you put them on a washing line.

빨래줄에 널어 놓게 됩니다.

It can be separated. Remember:
