3 Ways that English Speakers Say, "I do not know."

There will be times when you are having an English conversation where someone will ask

영어 대화를 하다 보면 누군가

you a question and you will not have the answer.

질문을 해도 답이 없을 때가 있을 것입니다.

And in that situation you will need to say, "I do not know."

그리고 그 상황에서 당신은 "나는 모른다"고 말할 필요가 있을 것이다.

They might ask a question like:

그들은

"Why is the sky blue?"

"왜 하늘은 파란색입니까?"와 같은 질문을 할 수 있습니다.

"I do not know."

"모르겠어요."

"Why did your cat run away?"

"당신의 고양이는 왜 도망쳤나요?"

"I do not know."

"모르겠어요."

"Why did you eat the last cookie?"

"마지막 과자는 왜 먹었어?"

"I do not know."

Now that is the slow, clear, and well pronounced version of that answer.

이제 그 답변의 느리고 명확하며 잘 발음된 버전입니다.

There are two faster versions and the first is proper English and it is contracting the

두 가지 더 빠른 버전이 있으며 첫 번째는 적절한 영어이며

words "do" and "not" into "don't".

단어 "do"와 "not"을 "don't"로 줄입니다.

So you'll have an answer like, "I don't know."

그래서 당신은 "모르겠어요"와 같은 대답을 하게 될 것입니다.

"Why did you get a speeding ticket?"

"왜 과속 딱지를 받았어?"

"I don't know."

"모르겠습니다."

"Why did you eat the last cookie?"

And the next version which is even faster is not really proper written English, but

you will hear it quite often in English conversation.

It looks like this and sounds like this, "I dunno."”

"Why did you eat the last cookie?"

"Why didn't you buy tickets to the baseball game?"”

"왜 야구 경기 표를 안 사셨어요 ?"

"I dunno."

"몰라요."

"Why did you get a speeding ticket?"

"왜 과속 딱지를 받았어?"

"I dunno."

"모르겠어."

Well that's the response, "I don't know."

글쎄요, "모르겠어요"라는 대답입니다.

"I don't know."

"모르겠습니다."

"I dunno."

"모르겠어."
