Well, hello.

Welcome to my annual Christmas message.

Actually, I haven't made one before, so I guess this

is my first annual Christmas message to all of you.

And I wanted to talk a little bit about this season.

I'm not sure if you celebrate Christmas or not,

but whether you do or not, this is a

time of year where people are generally happy.

A time of year when people visit family,

visit friends, and have a good time.

And I have a few phrases in the

imperative that I'm going to teach you today.

And it's going to sound like I'm telling

you what to do, but I think that's

okay because I think they're good phrases.

I think in the spirit of Christmas, you should be kind.

You should be kind and you should be nice.

I mean, you should be this way all the time.

But I think at Christmas it's especially important because even

though I said Christmas is a happy time for some

people, it can also be a sad time.

It's a time where people remember

loved ones who have passed away.

It's a time of year where even though most

of us spend time with family and friends, some

of us don't have people to spend time with.

So be kind. Be nice.

Those are the first two phrases.

The second phrase is the phrase be helpful.

I'm always trying to be a helpful person.

I'm not an amazingly helpful person.

In fact, I was just at school and someone asked

if I could help them move chairs and I said,

no, I have to go make a video, so I

guess I wasn't listening to my own advice.

But please be helpful.

If you see someone that needs help, please help them.

In fact, I should probably go back to school

in a few minutes and help that person.

They were setting up tables and chairs.

I think we're having a little Christmas dinner

for the staff, so maybe I'll be helpful.

When you're helpful, it just makes people happier.

It's just a good thing to do.

So be helpful and then be considerate.

I don't know if you know this word, considerate.

Be considerate.

When you're considerate, it means you try to think about

what someone else's life is like when you're talking to

them or when you're doing things with them.

I have a friend and I always like to

be considerate when I'm talking about visiting my mom

because his parents have both passed away.

So when you're considerate, it means you think about

another person's life when you are talking to them.

So that you don't say things that make them sad.

So be aware of other people's

lives and try to be considerate.

The next one I have here is, oh, I have a

list, by the way, if you're wondering what I'm looking at.

The next one I have is be good to yourself.

Now you should be good.

I don't know if you're familiar with Santa

and Christmas, but only good kids get presents.

But I also think you should be good as an adult.

But be good to yourself.

I think it's important to take care of yourself.

So make sure you go for long walks,

make sure you spend time with friends.

Make sure you take a break from work every once in

a while, be good to yourself, take care of yourself.

And then lastly, be thoughtful.

This is very similar to be considerate.

In fact, they have almost exactly the same meanings.

It means that think before you say things, try to think

about other people before you do things or say things.

You know, sometimes it's easy to be critical of other people.

It's easy to say negative things.

It's easy to judge people for what they do.

But try to be a little bit more thoughtful.

When you see someone act in a certain way,

there might be a good reason for that.

So try to be thoughtful.

Try to be kind, try to be nice.

Try to be considerate.

Make sure that you are good to yourself.

And did I forget one? Let's see.

Be kind, be helpful, be nice, be considerate,

be good to yourself and be thoughtful.
