Other Ways to Say "I don't understand"

The next time you don't understand  something try using one of these phrases.

I don't get it.

You lost me.

That doesn't make sense.

Or you can use a variation: Maybe  it's me, but that doesn't make sense.

I think I'm missing something.

If someone is telling a long, complicated story  or giving a long, complicated explanation,

you can say, "Sorry. I'm not following  you" or "Sorry. I don't follow you."

You could use this combination:  I'm not following you. You lost me.

Sometimes people don't speak clearly or say things  directly. This leads to confusion. You might say,

"I'm confused. You're going to  have to spell that out for me."
