Following the verb recommend, suggest, we do not want an object pronoun.

Me is an object pronoun.

The good news is there's a very easy way to fix this.

If you're at a restaurant, say, what would you recommend.

That's all you need to do.

Because grammatically, from a sentence structure, we don't want the object pronoun.

Now this is where students get confused, because they see you, I recommend you.

Because this you is not an object pronoun.

Now you'll notice here we have our verb recommend, and then following the verb recommend we have
