of the top ten most dangerous words in english

why are they dangerous?

because if you mispronounce them they could be very very embarrassing

so this lesson was inspired for my time in Japan when I had to give a presentation about The United States of America

and I had to talk about the population in Japanese

so the word for population in Japanese "jinkou"

is very similar to another word that I would not want to say in presentation

so if are you are Japanese or you speak Japanese

you probably know what I'm talking about

so let me describe this word

because I don't want to say the actual word because YouTube doesn't like bad words or swear words or naughty words

so I don't want Youtube to think that I have a you know bad channel

I'm just here help you learn English OK?

but it's similar to the word for a man's private parts let's say

so let me tell you one thing I'm not gonna say any offensive words in this lesson

but if you are easily offended and you don't want to know

or have any kind of descriptions of bad words then then click out go somewhere else find another English lesson but this is not the one for you

so that you don't say really offensive things then keep watching

we are gonna help some fun and I'm gonna help you with your pronunciation

so number 1 sheet oh look at how I smile when I say this word that's how to say safe

because if you make the vowel a short vowel here

it sounds like a bad word for the thing you do in the bathroom

the thing you make when you go to the bathroom

similarly number 2

well sorry back up number one sheet cloud be like a piece of paper a sheet of paper

or it could be a bed sheet

number 2 is cheat which is very similar to number 1 ahh cheat

like if you do not follow the rule you are cheating

you might cheat one your lover hopefully not

or you might cheat on the test hopefully not

we don't want to cheat and we don't want to mispronounce cheat

if we make about the vowel sound short it sounds like the same thing you do in the bathroom

number 3

it's a beautiful summer day you might wanna go to the beach

the beach I love the beach

but if you make this vowel too short it is a very offensive word for women

so you don't want to say this especially around women

number 4 number 4 is the word focus

now we need to make this a long o focus and my jaw needs to drop focus

because if I don't say focus in this way

if the vowel sounds are too short

it sounds like a very offensive for a little word that also begins with F (fuc* us)

so be careful

focus on your pronunciation so you don't offend any one

number 5 and number 6 could both be mistaken for the same swear word

number 5 is crab you might eat crab like fried crab

or crab umm I don't know how do you eat crab it's been a long time sine I've eaten crab

but if you do not pronounce that B correctly

and you make the B a P with is something that a lot of Arabic speakers might do by accident

you end up with a swear word

also the same thing you do in the bathroom but you just another way to say it

number 6 is actually something that I really like ahh it's something from France

you might go out to breakfast or lunch and eat crepes crepes

so the pronunciation is slightly different than French

because we Americanize it

but crepe needs to have that A vowel sound

if it's shorter it also sounds that like that thing you do in the bathroom

definitely don't want to have any of those things for your next meal

number 7 French speakers listen up happiness happiness we have to make that H sound

other way you might shock your conversation partner

if you say something like all I want in life is "a p*nis"

similarly number 8 Thai speakers and some other languages

if you like peanuts in your recipes listen up how do you make "Pad Thai" what's the key ingredient well it's peanuts

make sure you have that "TS" at the end because if you don't it could sound like that same thing that I just talked about

peanuts ts excellent nobody wants a man's private parts in their "Pad Thai"

number 9 an animal, a very regal, majestic animal should not be offensive

a horse make sure that you make the s sound and not a z

because if you make it a z sound going to sound like very offensive word for a woman

and finally I've saved the best for last number 10 is coke

I remember I had a French speaking student in one of my English classes

and we are talking about our favorite things to drink and she said her favorite thing was a Coke

accept she said the vowel sounds a little bit wrong a little bit too short

and again this is a slang word for a man's private parts

so make sure that you say cooooke oooo coke

we are taking about to drink otherwise we could be very embarrassing
