I've got lots of adjectives, lots of nouns

and lots of slang phrases as well.

It's really easy and really effective.

Take a book that you have already read in English

or a book that you would like to read in English

and read that book whilst listening

to it's audiobook counterpart on audible.

Reading alone will not help with your pronunciation.

القراءة وحدها لن تساعدك في تطويرمهارات نطقك

And obviously not with your listening either.

The way a word is spelt in English or written in English

الطريقة التي تهجئ اوتكتب الكلمة بالانكليزية بها

doesn't really give you much indication

لا تعطيك دلالة كافية

as to how it's pronounced in English.

عن كيف تنطق الكلمة بالانكليزية

But if you listen to a word as you read it,

لكن اذا كنت تصغ الى الكلمة وانت تقراها

your brain will start making connections

and the next time you see that word,

you'll know exactly how it's said,

how it's meant to be said.

Right, let's get started with the lesson.

Firstly, let's take a look at some adjectives.

اولا لنلق نظرة على بعض الصفات

I'm sure you'll know some of them

انا متاكدة بانك ستعرف بعضا منها

but I've included some more advanced ones as well.

لكني قمت باضافة بعض الكلمات الجديدة ايضا

Obviously the one we all know is beautiful, beautiful.

بالطبع الكلمة التي نعرفها جميعا هي "جميل"

But we also have pretty, pretty.

لكن لدينا ايضا "جميل"

It's normally used to describe somebody feminine.

بالعادة تستعمل لوصف شخص انثوي

You can have a pretty man.

يمكنك ان تقول "رجل جميل"

But you are saying that he is beautiful in a feminine way.

لكنك تقول بانة جميل بطريقة انثوية

Gorgeous, gorgeous, this means completely beautiful.

خلاب, خلاب هذا يعني جميل جدا

Stunning, stunning, again very beautiful.

مذهل, مذهل ايضا جميل جدا

That's probably top notch for beauty.

هذا على الارجح اعلى مستوى من الجمال

But can also have cute

يمكنك ايضا ان تقول "لطيف"

but this is far more common in America.

لكن هذا شائع اكثر في امريكا

So if you say someone is cute in the UK,

فاذا قلت بان احدهم لطيف في المملكة المتحدة

you'd be saying that they are very sweet

بانه حلو جدا

or childlike maybe.

او بشكل طفولي اكثر

Or like a cat or a dog might be cute.

مثل كلب اوقطة لطيف

In America they use cute to describe

في امريكا يستعملون "لطيف" لوصف

somebody that's good looking.

شخصا يبدو جميلا

I remember an American girl telling me when I was young

اتذكر فتاة امريكية اخبرتني عندما كنت صغيرة

that she thought my outfit was cute.

هي اعتقدت بان ملابسي كانت لطيفة

And I remember thinking, I don't want to look cute,

واتذكر بانني فكرت لا اريد ان ابدو لطيفة

I want to look grown up.

اريد ان ابدو ناضجة

But to her cute meant very very nice.

لكن بالنسبة لها "لطيف" بمعنى "جميل" جدا

But to me it meant oh I look like a child.

لكن بالنسبة لي ابدو كطفلة

Another one that we do use a lot is adorable, adorable.

وكلمة اخرى نستعملها هي "بديع"

Attractive, attractive is also an option.

"جذاب" ايضا خيار اخر

One that I use a lot is lovely, lovely.

والكلمة التي استعملها كثيرا هي "محبوب"

You look absolutely lovely.

تبدو "حبوبا" للغاية

If somebody just looks 10 out of 10,

واذا كان شخصا ما يبدو ممتازا

then you can say perfect, she's perfect.

يمكنك ان تقول "مثالي" انها مثالية

Everything about her or him is just beautiful.

كل شئ عنها او عنه جميل

We also have a lovely one which is radiant, radiant.

وايضا لدينا كلمة اخرى وهي "متألق"

This means somebody has a beautiful glow

وهذا يعني بان احدهم يبدو مشرقا

about them, radiant beauty.

جمال متألق

Another word especially if somebody

وكلمة اخرى خاصة اذا كان احدهم

looks really good in their clothes

يبدو جميلا جدا في تلك الملابس

or we really like their figure,

او يعجبنا فعلا شكله

we can say you look fantastic, fantastic.

يمكننا ان نفول تبدو "مذهلا"

Good-looking is also an option.

"مظهر جميل" هو ايضا خيار جيد

She's a very good-looking woman.

هي امرأة مظهرها جميل

He's a very good-looking man.

هو رجل مظهره جيد

Handsome, handsome is used to describe

"وسيم" تستعمل لوصف

more masculine beauty.

جمال ذكوري اكثر

You can say a handsome woman but you are describing

يمكنك ان تقول امراة وسيمة لكنك بذلك تصف

masculine beauty in that woman.

جمال ذكوري في تلك الامرأة

So we are more likely to use handsome

اذا نحن نستعمل "وسيم" اكثر

for men but not always.

للرجل لكن ليس دائما

Breathtaking is another really nice one.

"خاطف للانفاس" هو خيار لطيف

Someone is so beautiful they take your breath away.

شخصا ما جميل جدا لدرجة انة يخطف انفاسك

You look breathtaking tonight.

تبدو خاطف للانفاس اليوم

Or captivating, captivating.

او آسر

This means that they hold your gaze

هذا يعني بانه يجذبك للتحديق اليه كالسجين

captive like a prisoner.

A very feminine one is dainty, dainty.

كلمة انثوية اخرى هي رقيق

This describes small and feminine beauty.

هذا يصف جمال صغير وانثوي

You might describe someone's dainty hands

يمكن ان تصف احدهم لديه يدين رقيقتين

if they have small, feminine hands.

لديه يدان صغيرتان انثويتان

Dazzling is another really lovely one.

"مبهر" هي كلمة جميلة اخرى

Dazzling, someone whose beauty stops you in your tracks.

"مبهر" شخصا يوقفك عن ما تفعل لشدة جماله

Striking is another similar one, striking.

"لافت" هي كلمة مشابهه اخرى "لافت"

And the last one, one that I really like is dreamy, dreamy.

و الكلمة الاخيرة الكلمة التي احبها هي"حالم"

Normally used by teenage girls

تستعمل عادة من فتيات مراهقات

to describe their crushes.

لوصف الاشخاص المعجبين بهم

Oh my God, he's so dreamy.

يا الهي انه كما في الاحلام

Now I've got some informal adjectives.

والان لدي بعض الصفات الغير رسمية

A lot of these are describing general attractiveness

الكثير منها تصف الجاذبية بشكل عام

rather than beauty.

اكثر من الجمال

Someone could be attractive without being beautiful.

قد يبدو شخصا جذابا دون ان يبدو جميلا

And a lot of these are slang words.

والكثير من هذه الكلمات هي عامية

So if someone is very attractive, you can call them hot.

فاذا كان هناك شخصا جذابا جدا يمكنك ان تقول له"مثير"

Hot, oh my God, he's so hot.

يا الهي انه مثير جدا

A really slang one is banging, banging.

كلمة عامية جدا هي"مثير للضوضاء"

She's got a banging body or he is banging.

لديها جسد مثير للضوضاء او هو مثير للضوضاء

Be careful with how you say it

احذر عند استعمالها

because if you say he is banging,

لانك اذا قلت انه مثير للضوضاء

it doesn't sound like an adjective,

ذلك لا يبدو وصفا

it sounds like a verb.

يبدو كفعل

But we use it with a certain tone of voice,

لكننا نستعمله بنبرة صوت مميزة

you are banging.

انت مثير للضوضاء

Another one if someone's really hot, sizzling.

كلمة اخرى اذا كان شخصا ما مثير جدا "حراق"

He is sizzling.

يبدو حراقا

If somebody is a cunning beauty,

اذا كان شخصا يبدو جميلا ببراعة

you can call them foxy, foxy.

يمكنك ا تقول له "ماكر"

Or smoking, this normally comes before hot,

او "داخنا" نقول ذلك في العادة قبل "مثير"

you are smoking hot in that dress.

تبدين مثيرة بشكل دخاني في ذلك الفستان

Now three slang ones,

الان ثلاث كلمات عامية

I had to ask my friends for these.

يجب ان اسألل اصدقائي عليهم

What do the young people say nowadays?

ماذا يقولون الاشخاص الصغار هذه الايام؟

Apparently peng is a slang word that is used.

على مايبدو "مدهشا" هي كلمة عامية

I actually think it's quite old now,

اعتقد بانها اصبحت قديمة الان

it's been awhile for awhile.

تبدو كذلك

But if you hear someone say oh my God, he is peng.

لكن اذا سمعت احدهم يقول يا الهي يبدو "مدهشا"

I just don't feel right saying it.

انا لا اشعر بخير بمجرد قولها

I always feel really cringe worthy when I say slang words.

انا دائما اشعر بالتملق عندما اقول كلمات عامية

So if someone's peng, then they're very attractive.

اذا كان هناك شخصا "مدهشا" اذا فهو جذاب جدا

The same for tidy.

وكذلك "مرتب"

Oh my God you are tidy.

يا الهي تبدو "مرتبا_نيقا"

And we also have the absolute classic, fit.

و بالطبع لدينا كلمات كلاسيكية" لائق"

I've been saying this since I was a child.

اذا اقول هذه الكلمة منذ ان كنت صغير

Oh my God he's so fit, she's so fit.

يا الهي انه لائق- ممتاز جدا انها لائقة - ممتازة جدا

You look so fit.

تبدو لائقا

So you might see British people commenting

ربما ترى الناس البرطانيين يكتبون

on their friend's photos just saying fit.

على منشورات اصدقائهم يقولون ملائم

It doesn't mean they're in shape,

لا يعني ذلك في الشكل

it just means you look great.

هذا يعني بانك تبدو رائع

We also have some informal nouns

لدينا ايضا بعض الاسماء الغير رسمية

that you can use to describe someone who's very attractive.

التي يمكنك ان تستخدمها لوصف احدا جذابا جدا

For example a stunner.

مثلا مذهلا

If someone is a a stunner and they are stunning,

اذا كان شخصا يبدو مذهلا فهو مذهل

you are an absolute stunner.

انت بالطبع مذهلا

Or a hottie.

او مثير

She's a total hottie.

انها مثيرة الى اقصى حد

He is a complete hottie.

هو مثير الى اقصى حد

We also have a babe.

وايضا لدينا عزيزي

This can also mean that someone's a nice person.

هذا ايضا يعني بان الشخص لطيف

If I say oh he's such a babe,

اذا قلت اه انه لطيف جدا

I might be saying oh he's such a lovely guy

يمكن اناقول اه كم هو رجل محبوب

rather than such a hot guy, it depends.

بدلا من كم هو مثير ,حسب الموقف

We also have a goddess.

لدينا ايضا "الهي"

You can say god but I swear that a goddess

يمكنك ان تقول "اله" لكني اؤكد لك بان "الهي"

is much more used than a god.

اكثر استعمالا من "اله"

And obviously it's used mainly for women.

ومن الواضح بانها تستخدم للمرأة

She is a total goddess.

انها الهية بالفعل

Another one we have a head turner.

واحدة اخرى لدينا "ملفت"

She's a head turner.

انها ملفتة

You make heads turn because you're so attractive.

يجعل الراس يلتف لانك جذاب

Or a looker, this means that you are good-looking.

او "منظر" هذا لان مظهرك رائع

Your a looker aren't you?

انت منظر الست كذلك؟

That was so awkward.

هذا كان مربكا

You're a looker aren't you?

انت منظر الست كذلك"

Or yeah, he's a bit of a looker he is.

نعم, يبدو قليلا منظر نعم

We also have a new one.

لدينا واحدة جديدة ايضا

I must say I've never used this myself

يجب ان اقول باني لم استعمل هذه الكلمة ابدا

but I have heard it in passing conversation, a worldie.

لكني سمعتها في محادثات مرت امامي, "عالمي"

He's got himself a worldie, a really beautiful woman.

جعل نفسة يبدو عالمي, امراة جميلة جدا

Or a perfect 10, a 10 out of 10 on appearance.

او ممتازا 10 بتقدير 10 من10 للمظهر

We also have eye candy or arm candy.

لدينا ايضا "عين حلوة" او "ذراع حلوة"

Eye candy is something that is nice for your eyes,

"عين حلوة" لشيئ جميل في عينيك

something nice to look at.

شيئ جميل للنظر اليه

And arm candy is you know when you're with someone

و "ذراع جميلة" يعني انه عندما تكون مع احدا

and they just look really good for you to be with.

يبدو جميلا جدا لتكون معه

Very shallow but you know you need to know these things.

هذا يبدو سطحي جدا لكن كما تعرف يجب ان تعرف كل هذه الاشياء

And the last one, thank you to my friends

واخر كلمة شكرا لاصدقائي

who reminded me of this very important word, a snack.

لتذكيري بهذه الكلمة المهمة "لذيذا"

If somebody is a snack it means they are just delicious.

اذا كان شخصا ما يبدو لذيذا هذا يعني بانه لطيف جدا

You are such a snack.

ات لذيذا جدا

It's funny because my grandma,

انه مضحك لان جدتي

you know everyone has a word that they hate.

تعرف بان الجميع لدية كلمة يكرهها

I'm not gonna tell you mine

لن اقول لكم كلمتي التي اكرهها

because you'll start using it.

لانكم ستستعملونها

But my grandma's is snack.

لكن كلمة جدتي هي لذيذ

So if anyone ever tells me grandma that she's a snack,

اذا اخبر جدتي احدهم بانها لذيذة

she will hate it.

ستكرهه

I've also got some phrases that you can use

لدي ايضا بعض العبارات التي يمكنك استعمالها

to tell someone they are attractive.

لتخبر احدهم بانه جذاب

A really nice one is you look as lovely as ever.

عباره جميلة "تبدو محبوبا كما انت دائما"

Or you look as as ever.

ام "تبدو ---- كما انت دائما"

You look at beautiful as ever,

"تبدو جميلا كما انت دائما"

you look as dazzling as ever.

" تبدو مبهرا كما انت دائما"

This means you look beautiful

هذا يعني بانك تبدو جميلا

but you also always look beautiful.

لكنك ايضا دائما تبدو جميلا

Another one is oh you're to die for.

واحدة اخرى هي"ساموت من اجلك"

You are gorgeous, I would die for you.

انت مذهل ساموت من اجلك

And another one that I really like is drop-dead gorgeous.

وواحده اخرى احبها جدا "انك تسقطنا امواتا لجمالك"

He's not just gorgeous, he's drop-dead gorgeous.

انه ليس رائع فقط انه يسقط الجميع امواتا لجماله

I can't handle it.

لا اتحمله

You could also say that somebody is easy on the eyes.

يمكنك ان تقول بان احدهم " مريح للنظر"

It's very easy to look at this person

انة مريح بان تنظر لذلك الشخص

because they look so nice, they are eye candy.

لانه يبدو فعلا لطيفا وحلوا

You're very easy on the eyes.

انت مريح للنظر اليك

And the last one, not necessarily a positive one.

واخر عبارة ليست بالضرورة عبارة ايجابية

But you could say you're out of my league.

يمكنك ا تقول" انت خارج النظر"

If somebody is out of your league,

اذا كان شخص خارج نظرك

it means they're too attractive

هذا يعني بانه جذاب جدا

or you consider them to be too attractive

او تعتبره جذاب جدا

to go out with you.

ليخرج معك

I don't know why I try with you,

لا اعلم لماذا احاول معك

you're completely out of my league.

انت تماما خارج نظري

Not very nice and not nice to tell anyone

ليس لطيفا جدا وليس لطيفا ان تخبر اي احد

that you are out of their league ever.

بانه خارج عن نظرك ابدا
