using modal verbs let's get started

عند استخدام الmodel verbs لذلك هيا نبدأ

so firstly what are modal verbs well

بداية ماهي الmodel verbs ؟ في الحقيقة

they are part of a larger category

هي جزء من قسم اكبر

called auxiliary verbs and these are verbs

تسمى auxiliary verbs وهذه الأفعال

that add meaning to another verbnow modal

التي تضيف معني لفعل اخر

verbs are special because they follow a

لذلك هذه الافعال مهمه لأنها تتبع

strict set of rules and they are used in a

مجموعه من القوانين المحدده ويتم استخدامهم

very specific way I'm going to talk

بطريقه معينه وسأقوم بالتحدث

about the nine modal verbs today don't

عن ال9 أفعال اليوم

get them confused with the semi models

حتي لا تخلطهم بألsemi models

that only follow some of the modal verb

والتي تتبع بعض من قوانين الmodel verbs وليست كلها

rules now if I ask you right now to tell

remembering them we've got 3 m's 2 w's

تذّكر . هناك ثلاثة افعال يبدأون بحرف ال mواتنين بحرف الw واتنين بحرف الs

to c's and two s' so when you

واتنين بحرف الc لذلك عندما

write them out in a pattern it's much

تكتبهم بنمط معين

much easier to remember them all

يكون من السهل كثيرا ان تتذكرهم جميعا

so we've got the 3 m's we've got must

لدينا 3 أفعال بـ M، وهي must

might and may we've then got the 2 w's will

، might , may لدينا 2 فعل بـ W

and would we then got the 2 c's can and

وهم will - would ، ولدينا 2 بـC وهم can ,

could and then the two S's shall and

could وأخيرا لدينا 2 بـ S وهم shall

should remember will and would our

should تذكّر أن will , would

special in spoken and informal language

they can be contracted so will can turn

يمكن أن يكتبوا متصلين ، will تصبح 'll

into ' Double L i will i'll and would

و would تصبح

can turn into apostrophe D so we have

'd

she would she'd now the majority of

these modal verbs express different

meaning depending on

the context so you really have to

understand the sentence or question as a

the easy way of remembering it is modal

وأسهل طريقة لتذكرهم

verbs don't change they stay exactly as

أن الافعال التسعة لاتتغير، بل تبقى كما هي

they are so rule number four we use

القاعدة رقم 4

modal verbs in negative sentences like

نحن نستخدم الافعال التسعة في الجمل المنفية

we do with other auxiliary verbs ie

بدون أي تغيير ، فقط نضيف not

without the word do so the way we use

modal verbs in negative sentences is

هذه بعض الامثلة: أنت لايجب عليك أن

eat my food

تأكل طعامي

you must not eat my food or i can not

أنت لايجبب أن تأكل طعامي أو أنا لا أستطيع

preferences or desires i would like a

cup of tea or would you prefer apples or

oranges then we have can can can be used

to show ability i can speak English

أيضا نستخدمها لنتكلم عن الاستطاعة، مثل أنا استطيع التحدّث بالانجليزي.

it can also be used to suggest a

possibility or give an option for

أو إعطاء خيارات

example you can call him tomorrow it

مثل: أنت تستطيع مكالمته غدا

could also be used to show impossibility

وأيضا يمكن استخدامها مع الاحتمالية

that can't be her and it can also be

مثل: مستحيل أن تكون هي

used for a request can you help me could

وأيضا تستخدم عند الطلب ، مثل هل تستطيع مساعدتي؟
