Hello, happy camper, are you feeling happy, happy, happy?

Good morning good afternoon or good evening depending where you are in the world.

Today we're going to discover ten fantastic ways to say somebody is happy

without using the same old word 'Happy'

I mean I like the word happy but there are better ways to describe being happy

Alright, so how do we first say that we are happy?

Over the moon

If you are over the moon then you are just really really happy

so for example I might use this if I say I've just got a new job

I'm absolutely over the moon I'm so happy

So over the moon and you are extremely happy

Number two pleased as punch

Of course you could just be pleased, you're very happy about something, you're pleased

like you might be pleased with your exam results or you might be pleased

with your child who's won a competition

But you can extend it into this fun phrase pleased as punch

I'm as pleased as punch

Tickled pink

Now tickled pink means that you are just extremely pleased about something

you've had some good news and it's made you feel very very happy so much

so you have a big smile on your face like you've been tickled

I'm tickled pink

I'm so happy

You could use the phrase on cloud nine

If you're on cloud nine you would be floating up very very high

you would be blissfully calm and satisfied and content

And so to be on cloud nine is just to be euphoric with happiness

Similar to on cloud nine you might say I'm walking on air

Ah, I feel like I'm walking on air

She was so happy she would walking on air

It's when you feel so content and relieved that you feel light in your body

And you're just like floating down the street you're walking on air

If you're really enjoying yourself perhaps at work or at the funfair or at a party or dinner

Then you could say that I'm having a whale of a time

I'm having a whale of a time

I guess that means that you're having a big happy time because whales are big

I don't know. I don't know the origin of that phrase

And I'll have a whale of a time while reading it

Now if something has been irritating you or annoying you for a long time and finally it's over

Perhaps, you've been struggling in a job and finally you get to leave that position

and start a new role or a new job altogether or maybe it's a person who's annoying you

Then you could say I'm glad to see the back of them or her or it

I'm so glad to see the back of that job I'm just relieved

So glad to see the back of her. She's really irritated me for a very long time and now she's left, whoa

So Glad to see the back of

If you're wearing a big smile because you're very happy then other people might say

You look like the cat that got the cream. You look like the cat that got the cream

Obviously a cat with cream is a very content and happy cat who will be purring away

I can't purr but you know what I mean. A cat with cream is very happy

And so if you are happy, I might say you look like the cat that got the cream

Just like with most of the other phrases if you are really really really really really happy then you can say

I am on top of the world just like you conquered the world, you're stood on top of it and you're shouting

I'm on top of the world. Woohoo!
