Look at all that traffic.

So many cars and lorries coming and going on a busy stretch of motorway here in the UK.

This is the designated M4 route that runs between London and South Wales.

It is the third longest motorway in the UK, with a distance of 189 miles between London and Bristol.

We often refer to distance as the length between one thing and another.

Distance can also be the amount of miles or kilometres travelled whilst on a journey.

We can also express how far away something is using distance.

As you can see, the road behind me stretches in two ways.

The passengers in those vehicles are either going to a place or coming back from somewhere.

Either way, they all share one thing in common.

They all have a destination.

They are all following a certain route that takes them to their eventual destination.

In a figurative sense, they are going from A to B.

We often talk about destination as the point where a journey ends.

In life, we often talk in terms of destination, when discussing plans for the future.

Often we are able to choose our destination in the form of something we wish to do in the future.

Of course, life also has its own eventual destination.

The process of ageing is a journey on which we are all travelling.

We often refer to the journey of life.

You might say that the things we do in life serve as something to occupy us whilst on the big journey.

The daily trials and tribulations are what keep us all busy.

Sometimes it is better not to keep thinking about how the journey ends and instead enjoy the ride.

Have fun on your journey, whatever it happens to be,

whether it is your career path or your hopes and dreams for the future.
