here we go it is another live English a very busy one today I hope you are

prepared I hope you have settled down in front of your laptop or other mobile

device and you are ready for two hours yes

two hours of live English this is now as live as live can be just to prove it

just to prove how live we are we did have some technical problems at the

start of today's livestream but now I have sorted it out everything is alright

you will not believe how much technology goes into producing this live stream

would you like to have a look at the technology that I use here it is this is

how I broadcast to you every single Sunday look at that technology it is

state-of-the-art technology that is the latest in broadcast equipment let me

tell you anyway we are here live as life can be I hope you are well how was your

week was your week alright it's been a very strange week a sad week for certain

reasons we had a big loss in the world of entertainment Tom Petty died this

week a great musician a great songwriter very much missed already and of course

he had lots of hits during the 1980s also in the 1970s as well Tom Petty had

a big hit with something called breakdown of course Tom Petty is also

well known for other songs such as American girl

and I won't back down and free fallin which i think is one of my favorite Tom

Petty songs so a bit of a sad week this week I don't know why 2017 once again

lots of people lots of famous people seem to be leaving us so here we go it

is Sunday the 8th of October of course we are into a dunk towba can

you see the sign behind me there it is it says dunk

towba because this is a special month for me at the end of October I will be

celebrating my 11th year we are approaching 11 years on YouTube well

well you're not but I am so 11 years can you believe it

week here because I've been doing all sorts of things did anyone see the

Harvest Moon did you see it the Harvest Moon was out this week looking very very

bright in the sky during the night and as a way of celebrating the Harvest Moon

look what I've done here no expense has been spared here look at this special

effect here so there it is there is the Harvest Moon look at that Wow

never say that mr. Duncan doesn't have some amazing special effects on his show

look at that there is the Harvest Moon in the sky

shining brightly wow that's amazing who needs CGI

when you've got some cardboard and the very large torch

so as a way of celebrating the Harvest Moon we have mr. Steve later on giving

some flash phrases and also flash words under the Harvest Moon I'm not kidding

I'm not joking honestly so mr. Steve will be here lots of mr. Steve today for

those who don't know who mr. Steve is here he is doing his full-time job he is

a professional grinder as we found out last week apparently that's what mr.

Steve does in his normal occupation he is a professional grinder so mr. Steve

will be here today some other news to catch up on we have the Bulls the Bulls

are still alive you will be pleased to hear that the Bulls are still alive at

the back of the garden also this morning ah you know what some mornings you wake

up and you feel so lucky to be alive and this is the view that greeted me this

morning when I open my window look at this view look at that so that is

actually the view from my bedroom window this morning that's what I saw when I

opened my curtains on this very morning what a beautiful sunny day it's quite

mild as well although last night we had lots of rain

but today the weather looks quite nice and there it is the view this morning

out of my window very scenic indeed I hope the weather where you are is okay

as well also the Bulls we can't forget the Bulls but how many Bulls are left

well now there are three Bulls left at the back of my house there were ten and

then there were eight but now there are only three Bulls left and there they are

completely unaware that their fate awaits them so I have a strange feeling

that next week the farmer will come to take these Bulls away they will be no

more that's not very nice is it so for those who are asking about the balls

they are ok but I don't think they are going to be ok for much longer I think

they will be going very soon but what will happen to them I have no idea a lot

of people say that English people or people that live in the UK always

complain about things I think maybe we are a nation of complainers and there is

one thing that people complain about more than anything else there is one

thing that people complain about more here in the UK than anything else can

you guess what it is can you guess which thing drives people crazy I will tell

you in a few moments also I've had a message come through asking what does

mr. Steve do after the livestream ends what does mr. Steve do after the live

what people really get angry about here in the UK

potholes they are holes that appear in the road now you can see here this

morning the lovely Shropshire Council have been and they have filled in two of

the very large pot holes that have been annoying many of the drivers around the

area in which I live so this is something I filmed this morning I

actually went out to walk down the road and film this or these two potholes so

now they have been filled in thank you very much to Shropshire Council thank

you so much for coming and making our journey a little bit smoother by filling

in the potholes isn't that nice shall we have a look at some more

potholes here is another one come on where's the other pothole there is

another one honestly it's coming in a minute that there it is there's the

other pothole now what I like about the potholes is before they fill them in

they they draw big circles around them so so the people that come along to

repair them can see them I love that so there is another one there is another

pothole that has been repaired so that's one thing that really does annoy people

living in the UK do you have potholes where you are do you have large holes in

your roads apparently if the government here in the UK were to repair all of the

potholes it would cost billions apparently not millions but billions

again you believe it that's very expensive so if they wanted to actually

fill all of the potholes in here in the UK it would cost billions of pounds I

can't believe it yes you can is here hello yes you can by

hi everybody welcome and good morning here we are it's day 8 of 31 days of

dunk Toba and Here I am right back where I started last Tuesday sitting at my

breakfast table having some breakfast I've got my cereal I have my cup of tea

I have some milk to go with my tea I have my spread cheese I have my toast in

the kitchen it's still in the toaster toasting that's what a toaster does you

see it toasts it likes to toast toast could everybody stop saying toast so

here we are again the week is definitely under way now thank you very much for

all of your kind comments over the weekend and once again a big apology for

the terrible subtitling that I did at the weekend I'm very sorry about that as

I said before I fell asleep but today I feel very what's the word alive I feel

invigorated I feel love beans I'm often asked if I like

technology you know those modern gadgets and gizmos we all seem to have in our

banks and pockets these days if there is one thing I have learned about video

making and being a presence on the Internet

it's that you need to stay up-to-date with all the technological changes the

big thing now of course is smart mobile tech from the sophisticated smart phones

right up to the very latest tablet devices if you are using the net to view

or produce you need to be tech savvy the word savvy means to be familiar and

competent with something to have knowledge and know-how means you are

savvy

my gizmos this is my editing suite this is where all the editing takes place I

spend many hours sitting in this chair believe you me I have my tablet device

here I use this mainly for script writing and also I use it as an autocue

it's very useful for that particular purpose and I also have my little

smartphone here this is also very useful I use it a lot for taking photographs if

I'm out and about and I have no big camera with me

I use my mobile phone I do not usually update my devices if they are still

adequately performing the tasks I require then I am happy with them the

only complaint I have about modern gadgets and tech is that they seem to go

out of date too quickly you buy a device and then a few months later a new

version comes out in these fast-moving times a new device becomes old and

obsolete very rapidly despite this slight niggle I would never

criticize modern technology after all without it I would not be here talking

is from in my house because I have no idea you know what happens sometimes

sometimes you want to put something in a safe place so it doesn't get lost or

mislaid and that's what's happened here so this is some

that appears to be a part of my house a little part of the structure of my house

but I have no idea where it came from or where it belongs so there it is a little

piece of my house but what is it and where does it belong because I have no

idea maybe later I will ask mr. Steve to see if he knows

where it came from talking of mr. Steve later on we have

five signs that you are in a long-term relationship you know what it's like you

meet someone you fall in love and then maybe you see each other on a regular

basis for a few months but when do you know that you actually have a long-term

relationship how do you know what are the signs so today I'm going to give you

five signs five indications that you are in a long-term relationship all of that

meaning or emotion so if you want to give a cross or to transmit emotion you

photo and maybe send it to me so I can have a look but we do have a

big problem here in the UK with potholes holes that appear in the road so

normally damage caused by heavy vehicles and also in the winter as well so when

it gets very cold sometimes the road will crack and break and then a pothole

would you describe yourself as a stickler a person who is a stickler is

someone who insists on something being done to a particular standard they are

often very well organized in their daily life they aim to do things at a certain

level a fussy person might be described as a stickler if they go to extremes to

gain perfection and order to expect others to meet your high standards might

mean that people will see you as a stickler my boss is a stickler for

punctuality a person whose life is very ordered and well organized might be

described as a stickler to expect a certain degree of quality or type of

behavior is to be a stickler he is a stickler for accuracy

they say that grammar is the hardest part of learning English it is not just

the rules of grammar that many people find confusing but the actual memorizing

of them all there are some tricks to remembering certain grammar rules a

common mistake in spelling is the confusion between the placing of the

letter I and the letter e in words to help you remember try learning this

phrase I before E except after C other simple tags include ing ends a doing

word or was used as a gerund when a noun is heard

general grammar rules can be learned through the following poem and nouns a

person's place or thing or sometimes even times like spring a verb tells what

if you engage with a person then they are more likely to stay with you a

television program must engage with a person or else they will stop watching

movie makers politicians newspaper editors all try to keep people

interested and involved by trying to engage with those they wish to connect

with engagement is the action of connecting with something TV producers

are finding it harder to engage with their audience politicians need to

smell in your studio there is actually yes there is a strange smell in here now

I know the reason why it smells in here because you may have noticed let's just

have the long shot the wide shot you may have noticed last week I actually put

leaves all around the studio so there are lots of Lee

from my garden and I've noticed this week they are all starting to RuPt

and smell so the inside of my studio now smells like a compost heap so and the

reason is because I've got lots of real leaves well out and now they are rotting

away on the floor well clearly there's lots of creatures that have invaded your

studio thinking they're in the middle of a forest because can anybody see what

I've got now because every week mr. Duncan I keep complaining about this

plain studio this backdrop I've got nothing there's some leaves you put

those in the other way but I've got nothing else but I've just noticed a new

addition I don't know if that was there last week but I don't remember it it

wasn't there last week I put it there today I'm so pleased you notice I've

spotted it a metal owl oh here we go a mental ol metal metal Oh I said I

thought you said mental I think it's made of iron anyway it's quite nice is

it head go round no bowels heads usually go all the way round it might come off

I'll put it back before I break it it looks very expensive by the way see I

don't think there's anything wrong with that background I think your backdrop is

lovely it's lovely in green it's very environmental and also you

have those lovely autumn leaves there's nothing wrong with your backdrop it just

looks a bit it looks a bit drab and a bit sort of disorganized over here and

there's a clock as well there's a clock oh yes and I forgot to mention last week

this wonderful drawing and you had one too by the same person and I just want

to thank whoever that was do you know the name of the person can you remember

who I can't remember now it I know it's someone watching in Russia

thank you very much I think it just encapsulate smiled head it was a CLE it

what encapsulate s' encapsulate yes what does that mean it just it just it shows

up exactly what it looks like it just gives a very good depiction of what I'd

look like that encapsulate s' my character so it captures all of your

real features so it's a very good representation of mr. Steve I see

representation yes and you had one as well and that was factor you have you

shown you had one in the week bus from somebody else no I have you shown that

one mr. dump I haven't shown that one I haven't because I haven't made a copy of

it unfortunately I didn't have time because I was so busy today it's very

funny somebody sent you a caricature of yourself okay and it was extremely funny

calm down I burst out laughing but you were crying it isn't it's it's a lovely

representation it's lovely now we show that next week today we are

talking first of all about relationships I thought it would be fun to talk about

the things that show that you are in a long-term relationship now I think

starting a new relationship is very difficult it's not the easiest thing to

do in the world when you meet someone and then you get to know them but

normally both parties both members both halves of the relationship tend to hide

things from each other would you say that's true hide their

faults they're little strange mannerisms that might might put them off their

foibles their foibles that's word by the way for you balls you're always on your

best behavior in the first few dates maybe even the first few years it won't

listen till you've got married and then you can just just let it all go it's too

late then they've gotten better married to you then you can just become a

complete slob so when when you start a new relationship you you are normally on

your best behavior but of course over time things begin to change so today I'm

going to give you five things and I want I want you to see what you think of

these mr. Steve and also you watching out there as well in YouTube land what

do you think am i right so here we go so first of all the first

sign that you are in a long-term relationship that the relationship is

serious right not closing the bathroom door I think that's a good one

so you start to you start to do things more openly so when you go to the toilet

maybe for a wee-wee instead of locking the door closing the door in locking it

you leave the door open and you just go it doesn't matter we are in a long-term

relationship don't think that would go down too well with me I don't think you

want to see I don't think you should ever let your partner see you let's say

eliminating waste products from your body you said did I you said that the

eliminating waste product yes I don't think you ever want you always want your

you always want your partner to see you as somebody who is attractive so if you

see somebody crouched over a toilet hmm that might that might affect the bedroom

relationship there crouched over the toilet how do you go to the toilet you

know crunch over the toilet do you you've always got to you've always got

to give that illusion that you don't in fact go to the toilet at all yes it's a

little bit like a fairy tale isn't it when two people first meet and they fall

in love it's a bit like a fairy tale everything is perfect everything is

wonderful but then over time as the relationship goes on and on things start

to change I think you need to go into that bathroom your partner knows you've

gone in there but they don't want to you don't reveal anything that's happened in

there you go in there perfect you come out perfect

nothing unsavory has happened that could make you less attractive to your partner

it's all just wonderful come out smelling of roses anyway number two I

think this is a good this is one that a lot of people can relate

do I think sharing sharing that special moment that means that you are in a

long-term relationship you are sharing can you guess what it is mr. Steve is it

related to the last one maybe before the last one is it when you're constantly

talking about going to the toilet no not that one

okay it is the first time you share a fart right okay so that's one of the

boundaries that's the moment where you know that your relationship is now real

it's a real relationship it's not just fantasy it's a real relationship you

actually openly breaking wind in front of your part I think so I think that is

I think that is a very big sign a good sign that you are in a long-term

relationship you no longer have to hide your farts do you think that's true if

that sort of just in a room or on about in the bed as well I think mr. Steve I

think that Hallmark cards Hallmark cards are missing out on a great opportunity

to make more money so you could have the anniversary of meeting someone but also

you could have a special card that you send to a loving couple when they share

their first part I think so you could call it happy far too versary or

something like that so it's a year you could say it's a year since we shared

our first fart ah a year already oh my goodness oh I'm so pleased for you

you could buy little gifts what do you think is that good idea no I don't think

that's a good just it you know in a word no I think Hallmark cards are missing

out on making a lot of money there I think so Hallmark I think they're an

American company you say I heard you saying you've got lots of American

viewers today maybe that card already exists who knows

how much doubt it who knows there might be there might be

a fart anniversary card the first time you farted in front of your partner a

very special moment it brings you closer together I think I really do we should

move on from this particular subject okay let's go to something less less

unsavory number three this is a sign that you are in a long-term relationship

you both go together don't forget together you go together to

the chemist to buy your ointment and cream so you go to the chemist together

to buy your medicine or the things that you you put on your body in various

places or even reveal that you've got medicine in the first place yes because

because it's a very personal thing I mean some people have like this look at

this this is something for fungus fungus guess what I found this guess where I

found that I found this in mr. Steve's medicine cabinet I can only go and see

what it is from here oh I've got no monitor I can't be here maybe it isn't

mr. Steve's maybe it's maybe it's the previous owner of the house maybe they

left it here maybe no it was mr. Duncan and you're pretending it's mine is there

a name on it no there's no name on it fungus who wants fungus so I got in a

relationship I think I think definitely I think that that does bring you closer

when you can go to the chemist together to buy your ointment I love that word by

the way pointment I think some in a relationship I think sometimes if you

reveal that you've got some kind of chronic long-term problem sometimes that

actually makes the other person feel sorry for you and may bring you closer

together so yes if you say you know I've got this problem and then you recount

this long story of all the pain that gone through after over many years of

this condition that can actually you know they make the others partner feel

sorry for you and actually warm to you free get together magic can you know

sometimes in a relationship you can share your problems because some people

want to look after other people so if you're sick and ill that other person

might be attracted to you because you've got an illness that can sometimes happen

I see okay then okay number four this is something you almost mentioned earlier

right talking about your latest bowel movement so you go to the toilet then

you you can't wait to tell your partner about it or you openly discuss what what

you did yesterday or last night I went to the toilet last night oh it was

amazing and you're sharing this with your partner I think that's a very good

sign that you are in a long-term relationship it's and and and the fact

that you maybe haven't been for a couple of days and and you really want to and

you're constantly talking about it yes that does happen I've been in a

relationship like that didn't last very long now I don't agree I don't think I

don't think I think it desexualized is your partner oh if you're constantly

talking about your bowel habits it may little oh so you mean massive

I think so less attractive I see I think so

ts Tia has just asked why does mr. Steve look so unhappy today I'm happy well you

have had a week I mean on a serious note we must talk seriously now you have had

a difficult week well financially let's just say I'm several hundred pounds

worse off this week as a result of my car something went wrong with mr.

Steve's car mr. Steve's car more than one thing he became very unwell started

making a loud noise I knew in that it was something to do with the

exhaust you know years of experience in dealing with car matters I knew that

sound was a blown exhaust you knew that your car was about to fall to pieces

what I didn't realize is that it also needed some new engine mounts as well

that have caused the problem in the first place let's put it this way nobody

cares nobody cares about your engine mounts by the way you just what we did I

just threw that in there all we want to hear is your misery

how how miserable were you I'm no I was well put it this way it was sort of a a

double edged sword there's a word for you a double edged

sword a double says the sentence sword got to say that correctly a double edged

sword is a sentence yeah so that was bad news but also good news on the others on

the flipside in that the car is now a lot better yes we went yesterday we went

for a big drive yesterday we went to a party yesterday didn't we and we went

for a big drive in the car it sounds new so it sounds like a brand

new car whatever those guys did at the garage they did an amazing amazing job

yet it cost meat 800 pounds or a thousand dollars somewhere like that in

that region so it's a lot of money mind you it's cost me nothing in eight years

saved and a hundred and sixty thousand miles which is approximately how many

kilometers terms of 1.61 about two hundred and sixty thousand kilometers in

eight years that's a lot of miles if anybody is new driving out there and

it's cost me nothing in that time nothing has ever gone wrong so I can't

complain Oh mr. Duncan's asleep which means I've got to do the rest of the

show or on my own I've no idea what to do okay how many how many coffees have

you had today only six in the last hour I think so

you've seemed very excited but you weren't you weren't very happy a couple

of days ago when you when you thought your car was about to fall to pieces but

but I'm glad to see that you look happier today but we tested the car

yesterday didn't we we drove for nearly 200 miles yesterday didn't

way to this party a long way and I got to see a lady I got to see how a lady

breastfeed her baby it was it was amazing it was such a wonderful moment

and so unexpected I didn't expect to see that yesterday so there I was sitting

down a young lady come sit next to me she sat next to me with her baby and

then just didn't know you you'd never met before there it was there it all it

was all there for me to see I wasn't really looking I was looking straight

ahead I was trying to focus on something else but I knew that something was going

on I could I could hear the sounds a sort of I know I thought okay so I just

got up and walked out the room but it was it was a very interesting moment so

what we have in the UK now you just breastfeed whenever you like doesn't

matter I don't I don't know about other countries what what the the protocol is

what the norm is another country's if if a woman has her have has her lovely baby

and the baby wants to needs a bit of feeding can you just on a bus in on a

train anywhere in the UK it's just perfectly all right now today I'm not

going to say one way or the other I know one thing Steve Steve oh I know

one thing you can't do it on YouTube because they won't even let me show my

nipples on YouTube you can't even see my nipples so I don't know I don't know how

a lady breastfeeding her baby is going to to be able to do that on YouTube well

I was a little bit surprised yesterday when when she did it without without

telling me Jimmy it was just what at least a warning would have been

appropriate you'd never met her before because you go to a party you've never

met people before the last thing you expect to see is somebody just

breastfeeding I was slightly surprised anyway we tested the dryer yes there's a

lot of women by saying that no there you go my viewers would never ever get upset

with me they know the score they know what this is

Sunday afternoon with mr. Duncan that's me and mr. Steve is well mr. Steve is
