Did you know that the eighth most used words verbs in English are all

irregular verbs? Irregular verbs.

Now we won't learn a long list like you probably did in middle school (au collège): Ah, you know go-went-gone,

take-took-taken, do-did-done.

No..No..No..

No.

We are going to revise the 8 most frequently used irregular verbs in English that are absolutely essential

in a story. You ready?

To help you learn these verbs and to use just like that, we will put them in context.

After all, no one ever says: Yesterday, I go-went-gone ... went to the movies with a friend.

It's better to just tell a little story in the simple past, right? Ya

So we will forget about that the 3 column table for the moment, and just concentrate on the preterit the past simple.

So, Here they are the Top 8 irregular verbs in a little story just for you:

was/were

Sorry I was absent yesterday. Désolée, j’étais absente hier. Sorry I was absent yesterday.

I had a problem with my car. J’ai eu un problème avec ma voiture. I had a problem with my car.
