Meaning of GO ALL OUT - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So sometimes people do something and they don't put a lot of effort in.

But sometimes people do things and they go all out.

When you go all out it means that you put a lot of energy, a lot of effort, and a lot

of time, and a lot of work into something.

When I throw a party, or when I organize or plan a party I just get a little bit of food

and few other things.

I don't go all out.

But when my sister plans a party it's way better.

My sister is awesome at planning parties.

She always goes all out when she's planning a party.

She puts a lot of time, she puts a lot of effort, and she puts a lot of work into organizing

and planning really, really good parties.

So I'm not sure what kind of person you are, if you're like me and you don't go all out

or maybe you do go all out when you plan things.

So the verb "TO GO" is a tricky verb isn't it because if I give you three examples of

this phrase I would say that, "Yesterday I went all out."

Or "Last week I went all out."

So the verb, "GO", changes to the verb, "WENT".

It's the same verb, but the form, "WENT", in the past.

If I was to give you an example for today I would say, "Today I am going all out!",

and next week, "I'm going to go all out when I start my new week of teaching."
