How to Improve Your English from ANYWHERE in the World 🌏

where we're going to talk about how you can learn english

from anywhere in the world, now, if you're watching

So I am going to see who is in the chat today,

and we're gonna have a bunch of other people join in,

here's a quick rule if you are watching live,

but we're gonna talk about how you can improve

your english from anywhere in the world

and the reason I'm doing this lesson

is because I constantly get comments like this

"I have no one to practice my speaking with"

I get comments like this by email,

on YouTube, on Facebook on Instagram,

people tell me this all the time,

they tell me that they don't feel like they can improve

because they can't get the speaking practice,

they don't have the ability to talk with native speakers,

so what I'm going to do in this lesson,

it's a little loud out there,

I am going to show you how you can learn english

from anywhere in the world,

and we're going to do this and split it up

into three parts, we're gonna do this

in three different parts, by talking about how

you can get more practice, how you can surround yourself

in an english learning environment

and also how you can use my method

to help you dramatically improve your speaking,

You are in one of the following situations,

maybe you live in an English-speaking country,

I live in an English-speaking country,

I live in the United States,

other English speaking countries are the UK,

Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada

and some other countries too.

But if you do live in an English speaking country

then it's easier for you to have conversations with people

but continue watching this lesson,

because I'm going to give you more tips

on how you can improve even faster.

Most of you live in a non-english-speaking country,

in a country where english isn't the native language.

And if you are in this situation,

then I'm sure you have thought about

how you can get more practice,

and a lot of people who tell me,

"I don't know how to improve",

"I don't know how to get practice",

most of the people who say those things

don't live in an english speaking country.

So just quickly in the comment section, yes or no,

do you live in an english speaking country,

do you live in America, the UK, Canada, Ireland,

one of those countries, please let me know

in the comments section.

While I'm waiting for those answers, this is what

we're going to do, this is how you can improve

your english from anywhere in the world,

you can get more practice, get more speaking practice,

you can use my method, you can also change

your environment and that is what we're going

to look at today, how you can get more speaking practice

from anywhere in the world.

How you can use my method to make fast progress,

and how you can change your environment,

so most people are saying no,

most people are saying that they don't live

in an english speaking country,

we have some people who live in the UK, in Surrey

someone else from the UK too,

but most people are saying no,

most people are saying no,

a lot of people from Vietnam, good to have you all here,

Thailand too, great, so if you don't live

in an english speaking country then you have this challenge.

What's interesting to say at this stage however

is I know a lot of people, I have met a lot of people

who live here in America,

who have lived here for many years

but they still have a low level of english.

I have also met a lot of people who live

in non english speaking countries

who have a high level of english

and this just proves that it doesn't matter where you live

yes it's easier to get more practice

if you live in America or the UK,

but there are so many things you can do

to improve no matter where you live,

and again, you can get more practice,

you can use my method

or you can change your environment.

Let's talk about three ways to get more speaking practice

no matter where you live.

Are you ready?

This is number one on your screen.

Number one is on your screen now,

pay for lessons, pay for lessons,

so if you are in a position to do so,

you can pay a teacher to have conversations with you

and this teacher can correct your english as well,

now, you can find teachers where you live

or online, you can find teachers where you live

or online, so the first way to get more speaking practice

is to pay for lessons, to pay for lessons,

that's the first way.

So if you are in a position to do so,

if you can afford lessons, if you have the money

then this is an option for you, pay for lessons.

Number two is on your screen now,

join a language exchange.

Join a language exchange.

So again, you can do this probably where you live

or you can do it online.

Now a language exchange is where you meet for an hour

and you meet with someone who wants to learn

the language you speak, but this person can speak english

and then you spend 30 minutes speaking in your language

and you help this person, and 30 minutes speaking in english

where this english speaker helps you.

So 30 minutes in your language,

30 minutes in english, and this is a very popular way

to get more practice.

Again, you can do this, probably, where you live

and you can do this online as well.

I use to have lots of language exchanges

when I lived in Spain, I met with a lot of people

to speak in english and Spanish,

and we both practiced the language

that we wanted to learn,

so joining a language exchange is a great way to do this.

Number three is this one.

Make friends.

To make friends.

You could do this from anywhere in the world

you can make friends with people online who speak english

the problem is, I see, a lot of learners

just sending messages to people like me,

and saying, hey, can we go on Skype,

can we meet on Skype because I want to practice my english

and I don't have the time to do that,

I'm doing other things, and other teachers are either

giving lessons for payment, or they're doing other things

as well, so the idea is to take a long term view.

To connect with people in a real way,

to make friends with english speakers online and offline.

You can do this with people who live in your city

who are from the UK or America.

In fact, when I lived in Valencia,

there were about five Spanish people

a group of five Spanish people who I became friends with

and they were really friendly, we met them,

I can't remember how we met them,

but they just wanted to be our friends

and we spoke a lot in english,

so they got lots of english practice,

and then they invited us to parties.

They invited us to cook paella, it was amazing.

They invited us to pool parties,

so they made friends with us knowing that they could

practice their english, so the third way is to make friends.

Again you can do this online and offline,

so, three ways, pay for lessons,

join a language exchange, make friends with english speakers

but what if I don't have anyone to have a language exchange

you can join websites, just search for language exchange

online, there are so many websites where you can meet people

to have that exchange online.

Lots of great, yeah, there are different apps as well,

look at, I think Hello Talk is an app that you can use

and Wakie app in playstore is another one,

someone is saying.

Rizkita, in my neighborhood there are a couple

of native speakers, they're Australian,

but I'm too shy to talk to them.

I just send them a letter, send them a gift,

send them something, just to break the ice,

break the ice, and maybe one day when you're feeling

energetic and outgoing, then just go over and say hi,

go over and say hi.

And I'm not gonna sing a song unfortunately,

or fortunately for you guys.

So we can get more speaking practice,

we can use my method, which we're going

to talk about soon, and we can change our environment.

The three ways to get more speaking practice,

pay for lessons, join a language exchange, make friends.

And we can do all of these things online or offline,

online and offline.

Let's talk about changing our environment now,

how to change our environment so that we can learn english.

And I'm sure a lot of you are already doing this

but the idea here is to get as much input in english

as possible and this just means, reading things,

listening to things, watching things in english.

The first thing you should do is change the language

on your phone, on your computer into english.

Then, what you should do is use social media

as a way to just be surrounded by english,

follow different pages in english,

make friends with english speakers.

Then, whenever you read, read in english.

Then, whenever you listen to music,

listen to music in english, when you listen to podcasts,

listen to them in english, when you watch TV,

do it in english, when you watch movies,

do it in english, you get the idea, you understand.

But a lot of learners don't do this,

and this input is going to help you learn english faster

it's gonna help you improve your listening,

improve your reading, learn new words and phrases

and understand grammar.

So changing your environment is something that you can do

from anywhere in the world.

Again, it's easier if you live

in an english speaking country, it's easier,

but, because of the internet, you can do this

from anywhere, you know, even 15 years ago,

it was impossible to download english TV shows,

it was impossible to get podcasts,

or really hard to get podcasts,

it was difficult to get music,

now, it's everywhere, it's everywhere.

You can just use YouTube, iTunes,

whatever website you use to watch TV,

so make sure that you do this,

change your environment, this means that you are

surrounded in english all the time,

it's going to make a huge difference.

So this is important, to change your environment.

So, change your environment.

Tip number three is to use my method.

To use my method to improve all aspects

of your english, no matter where you live,

and my method is very simple,

it's on your screen, it's to listen to phrases in english,

listen to audio, listen to phrases, to sentences.

Repeat the sentences and record yourself.

And then compare your version to the original,

it's at this stage when we make changes,

because by recording yourself,

and listening to your own version,

you'll notice that you make mistakes,

you'll notice that the intonation might be different.

You'll notice that you might use the wrong english sound

and especially if you compare your version to the original

and play them both, then you'll really notice the difference

and this is a way that you can improve from anywhere

in the world, and without a teacher.

You can listen to your own version

and compare it to the original.

And then when you're happy with how you are repeating

this phrase, what you can do is get long term repetition.

Look at number four.

Long term repetition.

And by repeating this phrase over two or three months,

not everyday, we're gonna talk about that soon,

but over two or three months, then,

it will just come out naturally.

And if you do enough phrases

then you'll be able to use them all in a flexible way.

So it's very simple, listen to phrases, listen to audio,

repeat them and record them.

Compare your version to the original,

and then get long term repetition.

Khansaa says the Anki method.

Yes, I like to call this the sentence method.

Tell us about the cambly program,

I don't about it, I don't know enough about it.

Khansaa says, tried this record myself and compare.

Heltor says it's a great method to improve.

Khansaa is saying it works.

Yeah I've shared this method quite a lot recently

and I'm going to keep sharing it,

until I see the majority of learners use it

because I know how powerful it is,

I received a lot of comments recently

from people telling me that they're using this method

and they're making really fast progress.

And again, we're listening to phrases,

we're repeating them and recording them

we're comparing our version to the original,

we're making changes, we're making changes

and we're getting long term repetition.

And also just to say, when we are repeating the phrases

that we listen to, then we need to copy

how the original person says it, we need to imitate

that person, we need to listen to the english sounds

we need to listen to the stress, the rhythm

the intonation and everything else that we hear,

so this is so important, we listen and we copy.

We record our version and we compare it

to the original, and the benefits of doing this,

the benefits of this, you're going to improve

your pronunciation, look at number one,

you're going to improve your pronunciation,

because you're copying an english speaker

who as correct pronunciation.

And then, you're making changes to the way

that you speak.

Look at number two,

you're going to improve your fluency,

you're going to improve your fluency,

because after repeating this phrase many times

then you're going to be able to say it

without hesitation, without thinking, without thinking.

Number three, you're going to be able to use

correct grammar, somebody asked a question before

about grammar, this is one of the best ways

you can improve your grammar because,

when you repeat lots of sentences,

you're going to just know grammar.

You're going to learn about prepositions

about verbs, about subjects, et cetera.

Because you're repeating sentences,

and sentences teach you grammar.

If you repeat enough sentences and phrases

you are going to learn grammar.

Before we carry on with more benefits,

Vinicius says, I've improved a lot making this method,

so yeah, this is such a good method to improve.

Khansaa, repeating collocations on a daily basis, exactly.

So really good, really good comments.

Look at number four, you're going to learn

new words and phrases.

Because when you see a phrase,

there are going to be words that you don't know.

You can understand what these phrases,

what these words mean, by repeating it,

you're going to actually learn how to use them.

Not just learn the translation of a word,

but you're going to learn exactly how you can use

these words, and how you can use them as part of a phrase.

And you're also going to become

a more confident english speaker.

You're going to become more confident

and the reason why you're going to become more confident

is because you'll know a lot more english and because

you're going to improve your fluency,

your speaking in general, your grammar,

your vocabulary, and this will just make you

more confident, it will make you want to speak more

and if you use this method

and get speaking practice

and change your environment,

then you're going to make really fast progress

with your english.

How long does it take to watch all your videos?

Hmm, there are four videos in the introduction,

10 videos in the pronunciation tutorial

and then seven videos in the fluency phrases

and memory card section, so you can go through it

quite quickly, but the key is to get

this long term repetition.

What kind of movies do you recommend, anything you enjoy

please give me the best way in order to get 7

in the IELTS exam, like I've talked about

my program plus very specific practice

for the exam as well.

Perfect practice makes perfect.

Exactly, so what we're trying to do is first,

we're going to develop your pronunciation

so that you can speak using the right intonation,

stress, rhythm and sounds of english.

Then, you're going to practice the phrases

until you are happy with how you are saying it

and then that's when you're going to get repetition

because once you ca say it correctly,

that's what you want to repeat,

that's what you want to repeat.
