Here the ball is next to the  box. Two words together now:  

ここではボールがボックスの隣にあります 。 2 つの単語が結合されました:

‘next to’ or, ‘to the left of,

「隣に」または「左側に、

to the right of.

右側に」。

The ball is in front of. So we say  ‘in front of’ or ‘In front of’,  

ボールは目の前にあります。 したがって、 「～の前」または「～の前」と言いますが、

you can drop that T. But we don't say ‘behind of’;  

T は省略できます。ただし、「～の後ろ」とは言いません。

for ‘behind’ there is no ‘of’. The ball is in  front of the box.
