hey son are you awake it's almost time for

school hey why are you not  ready did you forget today is

Monday no Dad i didn't forget  i know today is Monday Dad

then why are you not dressed  you're going to be late it is

late because I'm not going that I'm  not going to school today or maybe

anymore what what do you mean  are you sick do you feel okay

i feel fine physically but I'm tired that really

tired tired of what talk  to me what's going on come

on i I don't like it anymore  i don't understand most of the

classes we sit in school for so many  hours every day and I don't even know

why why we learn the things we  learn some teachers just read from a

book or give us too much homework  they are always giving us a lot of

homework and they don't even explain  things well it feels like I'm just wasting

time but son that's school it's  not always fun it's part of

life but why Dad why do I need to learn  all this math if I'm not going to use

it why do I need to memorize things  just to pass a test i study and

study but I don't feel smarter i  just don't i feel more lost and

tired and empty every day feels the  same i am tired very tired i try that  

i really do but I sit in class and  sometimes I feel like I'm just a

robot they want us all to be the  same if I don't get a good grade  

I feel like a failure am I no son you're  not You're not a failure never say that

please then why does the system make  me feel that way why do I feel like  

like I'm not enough why can't I just  learn the things that really matter to

me like how to be happy or how to  deal with stress or how to understand

myself i wish I had all the answers but  I don't i went through school too and

yes many of the things you said  are true the system is not perfect

sometimes it feels all out of touch  and not everyone learns the same

way but in school you know  it's not just about books and

grades no then what is it about that  tell me because I really don't know

well it's about learning how to think how to be

patient how to deal with things you  don't like it's about building habits

discipline it's not always about the  subjects they are tools some useful some not

but what you gain is more than  that that's what you need to

understand but it feels useless  sometimes i don't feel happy i

don't I feel like like I'm stuck in  something that wasn't made for me

and maybe you are and that's  okay to feel son you're not

alone many young people feel this  way today the world is changing

fast but schools change slowly they  try to prepare you for the future

but sometimes they don't even know  what that future looks like that's the

truth but let me tell you something  important you don't have to love

school you don't have to be the best  student you don't have to follow the system

perfectly but you do need to finish  what you start that is really

important because later when you want to  do something new you'll have more options

so what am I supposed to do  then i should just accept

it no I'm not saying that i'm  saying play the game for now

but never stop dreaming of a better way  use the school for what it can give you

learn what you can but also  learn outside school read

create question everything be  curious think for yourself remember

that but that I don't want to  feel like a machine anymore

then don't simple remember a school is  only one part of your life it should not  

control your whole identity you are more than your

grades you are more than your test  scores please never forget that

son sometimes it feels like everyone  only cares about that i feel

that because that's what the system  teaches people to value but in this

house we don't do that we care  about you your heart your smile your

dreams listen if a school is hard I'll  be there if you fail a test I'll be

there if you cry I'll hold you  nothing will ever make me love you

less thank you Dad i think I really needed to hear

that you're not alone i know life  can feel heavy sometimes but you're

strong and you're not broken this  is just one part of the journey and

remember you will choose your own path one  day school doesn't decide who you are you

do i want to do something meaningful  in the future i just don't know what

yet that's okay you don't have  to know right now most people

don't keep asking questions  try new things meet people make

mistakes learn from them and most of all don't  lose your fire the world needs people like

you yeah I get it so should  I go to school today i am not

sure that's your choice but remember  sometimes we do things not because we love

them but because they open doors one  day you'll walk through the right

one okay i'll go but not for the great for

me that's the spirit and son whatever  you do in life I'll be proud of

you not because of a diploma  but because you're a good

person and that's what matters most i  don't want you to forget that please if
