Understanding the present perfect in English | Learn English with Cambridge

Learning a second language can be tricky sometimes.

I’ve been a teacher for more than 12 years,

and I’ve noticed that many students have difficulty

with the present perfect form.

We use the present perfect form to talk about actions

that have been completed,

완료되었거나 과거의

or that have happened from a certain time

특정 시간부터

in the past until now.

지금까지 발생한 동작에 대해 이야기할 때 현재 완료형을 사용합니다.

To form the present perfect, we use have in the present,

현재 완료를 형성하기 위해 우리는 현재에는 have를 사용

and the main verb in the past participle form.

하고 과거 분사 형태의 본동사를 사용합니다.

If I say,

I have been a teacher for 12 years, it means

12년 동안 교사를 했다면

that I’m still a teacher today.

지금도 여전히 교사라는 뜻입니다.

It’s different from,

I was a teacher for 12 years.

12년 동안 선생님이었다는 것과는 다릅니다.

That means that, now, I’m not a teacher anymore.

즉, 이제 나는 더 이상 교사가 아닙니다.

With he, she, it,

그, 그녀, 그것과 함께

we use has and the past participle of the main verb.

우리는 주동사의 과거 분사와 has를 사용합니다 .

So we say, she has been to London,

그래서 우리는 그녀가 런던에 가본 적이 있다고 말합니다.

which means that in some time in the past,

즉, 과거 어느 시점에

she was in London.

그녀가 런던에 있었다는 뜻입니다.

What’s important in the present perfect is the action,

현재 완료에서 중요한 것은 행동

and not necessarily the time when it happened.

이지 반드시 일어난 시간은 아닙니다 .

So remember, to make a phrase perfect,

따라서 구를 완벽하게 만들려면

use have in the present

현재에는 have를 사용

and the main verb in the past part participle tense.

하고 과거 분사 시제에는 본동사를 사용하십시오.
