Let’s talk about phrases you can  use in your daily conversations.

Native speakers use them a lot, and I personally  use them when I talk to my friends, relatives,  

Los hablantes nativos los usan mucho, y yo personalmente los uso cuando hablo con mis amigos, familiares,

neighbors and other people. Now let’s get started. Phrase number 1 - Nevermind!

Nevermind! I use this  

¡No importa! Uso esta

phrase when I want to tell someone not to worry  about something because it’s not that important. 

frase cuando quiero decirle a alguien que no se preocupe por algo porque no es tan importante.

"I'm sorry I’ve lost your textbook."  "Never mind, I can buy another one." 

"Lo siento, he perdido tu libro de texto". "No importa, puedo comprar otro".

The next phrase is - That’s a good one! That's a good one, I have to remember that one! 

La siguiente frase es - ¡Eso es bueno! Esa es buena, ¡tengo que recordarla!

If someone tells you a joke, and it was very  funny, you can use the phrase That’s a good one 

Si alguien te cuenta un chiste y fue muy divertido, puedes usar la frase Eso es bueno.

Or when someone said something stupid, and you  can’t believe that, you can say it in response. 

O cuando alguien dijo algo estúpido y no puedes creerlo, puedes decirlo en respuesta.

‘Can you do the washing-up? I’m tired.’ ‘Tired?  That’s a good one. You’ve done nothing all day!’ 

'¿Puedes lavar los platos? Estoy cansado. —¿Cansado? Esa es buena. ¡No has hecho nada en todo el día!’.

The next one is - But the thing is that But the thing is Chris, I'm your muse now! 

El siguiente es: Pero la cuestión es que Chris, ¡ahora soy tu musa!

We use this phrase when we’re going to explain  something, to help other person understand  

Usamos esta frase cuando vamos a explicar algo, para ayudar a otra persona a entender

your choice or opinion. For example, "This laptop

is really good, but the thing is that it’s too  expensive, so I had to look for another one."

This is a very casual phrase and native speakers  use it in conversations very often but please  

Esta es una frase muy informal y los hablantes nativos la usan en conversaciones con mucha frecuencia, pero

never use it in writing, because it’s informal The next phrase is - No big deal 

nunca la usen por escrito, porque es informal. La siguiente frase es: No es gran cosa.

Come on, you, guys, it's not big deal! I use this phrase to say that something  

¡Vamos, chicos, no es gran cosa! Utilizo esta frase para decir que algo

is not important or not difficult, for example "Thanks so much for helping me with my test,  

no es importante o no es difícil, por ejemplo, "Muchas gracias por ayudarme con mi examen

it was really hard for me" "No big deal, bro. I'm happy to help you" 

,  fue muy difícil para mí" "No es gran cosa, hermano. Me alegra poder ayudarte".

The next phrase is used  extremely often - It’s up to you 

La siguiente frase se usa muy a menudo - Depende de usted

It’s up to you When you want someone to decide,  

Depende de usted Cuando quiere que alguien decida

you can say - It’s up to you This phrase means - it doesn't  

, puede decir - Depende de usted Esta frase significa - no

matter to me, I don’t really care. - What movie should we watch tonight? 

me importa, realmente no me importa. - ¿Qué película deberíamos ver esta noche?

- It’s up to you. Choose whatever you like. the next phrase is - How does that sound? 

- Tu decides. Elige lo que quieras. la siguiente frase es - ¿Cómo suena eso?

How does that sound? This is a friendly way to  

¿Como suena eso? Esta es una manera amistosa de

ask what someone thinks of your plan. “What a beautiful day! I think we should take

a stroll to the park. How does that sound?” “Yeah, that sounds great.”

The next phrase is What have you been up to? What have you been up to? 

La siguiente frase es ¿Qué has estado haciendo? ¿Qué has estado haciendo?

When someone asks you this question, and  you’re like What? What have I been… Up to  

Cuando alguien te hace esta pregunta y tú dices ¿Qué? ¿Qué he estado… hasta

what? what’s going on? Don’t panic, this  phrase is a casual way of asking about you  

qué? ¿qué está sucediendo? No se asuste, esta frase es una forma casual de preguntar sobre usted

and your activities. What have you been up to?  

y sus actividades. ¿Qué has estado haciendo?

literally means what happened in your life in  the period of time you haven’t seen this person. 

literalmente significa lo que sucedió en tu vida en el período de tiempo que no has visto a esta persona.

You can ask your friend “What have you been up  to?” but please never say this to a stranger  

Puedes preguntarle a tu amigo "¿Qué has estado haciendo?" pero, por favor, nunca le digas esto a un extraño

because it may look weird and the person is gonna  be confused. Again, this phrase is very informal. 

porque puede parecer extraño y la persona se confundirá. Una vez más, esta frase es muy informal.

The next one is a question: Did you get it? Did you get it? - Sorry 

La siguiente es una pregunta: ¿Lo conseguiste? ¿Lo obtuviste? - Lo siento

We use this phrase to ask someone if they  understand what you’re saying to them. 

Usamos esta frase para preguntarle a alguien si entiende lo que le estás diciendo.

And a good response is – Got it!  This means you understood everything 

Y una buena respuesta es: ¡Entendido! Esto significa que entendiste todo.

The next one is a very  common phrase - Are you down? 

La siguiente es una frase muy común: ¿estás deprimido?

This means: are you OK with something?  or Are you ready to do something?  

Esto significa: ¿estás bien con algo? o ¿Estás listo para hacer algo?

(or willing to do something) For example, I’m down to make video  

(o dispuesto a hacer algo) Por ejemplo, estoy dispuesto a hacer

lessons for you every week. I’m OK with that. - Are you down to have some fun tonight? 

lecciones en video para usted todas las semanas. Estoy bien con eso. - ¿Estás dispuesto a divertirte esta noche?

-Yeah, sure! And the last,  

-¡Si seguro! Y la última,

but not the least phrase is Never been better I use this phrase when someone asks me  

pero no menos importante frase es Never been better Utilizo esta frase cuando alguien me pregunta ¿

How’ve you been? This means a good thing, maybe  

Cómo has estado? Esto significa algo bueno, tal vez

a little exaggerated. You can say it when you want  to tell people that things are good, things are  

un poco exagerado. Puede decirlo cuando quiera decirle a la gente que las cosas están bien, que las cosas
