🧐 Benefit of the Doubt

Someone asked me on social media about the phrase,  “benefit of the doubt”. What does it mean and how  

to use it? So this just means that you trust  somebody even if you're not sure, you can’t  

prove that what they're saying is correct. For  example, somebody took my wallet from a party,  

accidentally picked it up, thought it was  theirs. Now, I'm not sure if that's true,  

but I'm going to give that person the benefit  of the doubt. I'm going to go ahead and believe  

that person. Here's another example, let's say my  husband hated my sunglasses and then, oops, one  

day he breaks them. Now, I could think, hmm, did  he break them because he hates them? I could think  

that, but you know what, in order to just have  more ease in my relationship I'm going to give  

my husband the benefit of the doubt and I'm  going to assume that he broke them on accident.
