How to Get a British Accent - Lesson Four - "Questions in English - Part 2"

Hi guys, welcome back to another lesson of how to get a British accent and generally understand British people

This lesson we're looking at "do you and did you" and how to pronounce it with a British accent

So. "Did you" we can pronounce it like "didja" but, both of them we can pronounce like "dja"

Sounds very lazy? It is. But, we do say this sometimes

So, if we can pronounce both like "dja", how do we know whether it's past or present?

Well, you get it from the context usually.

With words like: last night, we know it's past.

Or: "usually"we know it's a present simple

So, with do you want to go to a park, remember everything we've learned so far? How would you change

this question?

Remembering that we can change "want to" to "wanna" the whole question can be:

Sure. That's fine. But, we can change it to:

Remember we have a "glottal T", could be.

We could pronounce it both ways. Pronounce both of them, just, practice both of them.

Good question, it's very common. Maybe you are new to an area and you want to know:

How would we pronounce that?

Remember again, we can pronounce that as a "glottal T" or a "true T"

Both are ok
