Use Thought Groups and Stress to Sound More Natural

Have faith in yourself and trust your abilities.  I'd say this statement with two thought groups.  

Tenha fé em si mesmo e confie em suas habilidades. Eu diria esta afirmação com dois grupos de pensamento.

Have faith in yourself and trust your  abilities. I stress the content words,  

Tenha fé em si mesmo e confie em suas habilidades. Enfatizo as palavras de conteúdo,

the words that carry meaning. Have faith in  yourself and trust your abilities. "Yourself"  

as palavras que carregam significado. Tenha fé em você mesmo e confie em suas habilidades. "Você mesmo"

has two syllables. Stress the second: yourself.  "Abilities" has four syllables. Stress the second:  

tem duas sílabas. Enfatize o segundo: você mesmo. "Habilidades" tem quatro sílabas. Enfatize o segundo:

abilities. "Abilities" is the final content  word. This is where I use falling intonation  

habilidades. "Habilidades" é a palavra final do conteúdo . É aqui que uso a entonação decrescente

to signal the end of the sentence. Have  faith in yourself and trust your abilities.  

para sinalizar o final da frase. Tenha fé em si mesmo e confie em suas habilidades.

Say this variation as an affirmation: I have  faith in myself, and I trust my abilities.
