Access 和 excess

Access can be both a verb and a noun and refers  to the permission or ability to enter a place  

Access 既可以是动词也可以是名词，指的是进入某个地方

or to use something. “You can access the  art exhibit through the door on the right”

或使用某物的许可或能力。 “您可以通过右边的门进入艺术展览”

Or for example: “He doesn’t have access to the  

或者例如：“他无权访问这些

files” – meaning he doesn’t have permission;  he is not allowed to look at the files.

文件”——意思是他没有权限；不允许他查看这些文件。

Excess is a noun, and it refers to an  amount of something that is too much;  

excess是名词，指某物的数量过多；

it's not necessary or not usual.

没有必要或不常见。

“On my birthday I always eat an excess of cake”

“On my birthday I always eat excessive of cake”

meaning I eat too much cake.

意思是我吃的蛋糕太多了。
