I am a firm believer that what we  learn becomes a part of who we are.

I’ve been British pretty much my entire life.  My mum used to say that my first words were  

‘jolly good’ and ‘I’d love a cuppa’.  Alright that isn’t strictly true but  

I am passionate about English and I love  how we use language to express our identities.

I’ve been teaching English for over 15 years now  and I believe that learning a new language is one  

of the most exciting things that we can do but  it can leave us feeling overwhelmed and confused.

The purpose of ‘A really British  Guide to English Pronunciation’  

is to give you the knowledge and confidence  to communicate fluently in spoken English.  

Having lived in Spain and Argentina I know  just how hard it is to fully express yourself in  

another language and I wish I’d had a course  like this to give me the pathway to fluency.

In 'A Really British Guide to English  Pronunciation' there are 50 professionally  

crafted videos that walk you through the 5  key areas of British English pronunciation.

We start in module one by  understanding the anatomy of sound  

and how to use our mouth to make all  the main sounds of British English  

using the IPA chart. We then move on to master  the 11 key sounds of Received Pronunciation.

Our third module focuses on connected  speech and how proficient English speakers  

blend words and sounds together  to produce fluent English speech.

In the fourth module we shine a  light on how stress and intonation  

work in British English. We’ll look at  common patterns proficient speakers use  

and how you can use these  techniques to sound more natural.

Our final module identifies the various  differences between British and American English  

from key sounds through to word stress.

In each module there is a test  video to see how much you remember  

and an accompanying PDF with all the  information and resources you need.

We have also built a community within the course  

where you can connect with fellow students  and attend weekly live streams with me.
