Wishing Someone a Happy Birthday (English Phrases)

Hello. This is Jack from ttofluency.com, and in this video I'm going to look

at some phrases that you can use when you want to wish somebody a happy birthday, so

let's go straight into it. So, the first one here, as you can see, is a simple one:

Happy Birthday, Sarah! Now, a couple of things here: the first one is that we

use capitals 'Happy Birthday H and B. Now this rule isn't very strong - you'll see a

lot of people using a capital H but not the capital B, ok, but the the right

way to do it is: both with capital. And then, we have a comma, and then we have

the name - it's very common to use an exclamation mark here too, so Happy

Birthday, Sarah! The next one is pretty cool which is this:

'Hope you have a great day' or 'hope you have a wonderful day' - 'hope you have a

fantastic day'. Something that's really interesting is we don't tend to use 'I'

when we're using this phrase with birthdays, so it's not that common to use the 'I' here

You can use it if you want but it's more common just to use it without. The last

one is a little bit more formal and it's... 'Wishing you all the best for today and

in the future.'

'Wishing you all the best for today and in the future.'

Now, this one is is quite strong, you know, it's quite a strong thing to say, this

one is more informal - this one is a little bit stronger now there are many

more phrases that you can use what I want you to do is to leave some of them
