Conversation Skills: Softening Your Speech 😊 Master the art!

Hi everyone. In our previous lesson, we talked about agreeing with others, even when we don't really want to.

안녕하세요 여러분. 이전 수업에서 우리는 원하지 않는 경우에도 다른 사람과 동의하는 것에 대해 이야기했습니다.

Sometimes, though, we need to express an opposite opinion, but we know it may not be received.

하지만 때때로 우리는 반대 의견을 표명해야 하지만 그것이 받아들여지지 않을 수도 있다는 것을 압니다.

Well, so it's better to soften or statement.

글쎄, 그래서 부드럽게하거나 진술하는 것이 좋습니다.

Modal verbs are very useful when we want to soften our speech.

모달 동사는 말을 부드럽게 하고 싶을 때 매우 유용합니다.

Instead of telling someone they made a mistake, we have the option of saying they could be wrong.

누군가에게 그들이 실수했다고 말하는 대신에, 우리는 그들이 틀릴 수 있다고 말할 수 있는 선택권이 있습니다.

They might be wrong.

그들이 틀렸을 수도 있습니다.

There may be a mistake.

실수가 있을 수 있습니다.

Learn these useful ways to present an opinion if you don't want to sound forceful.

We have other words to soften a statement.

진술을 부드럽게 하는 다른 단어가 있습니다.

There are times when we need to sound confident.

자신감 있게 말해야 할 때가 있습니다.

But there are also times of negotiation when we need to keep the peace,

그러나 우리가 평화를 유지해야 할 때 협상의 시간도 있습니다.

so we use words like: kind of,

그래서 우리는 다음과 같은 단어를 사용합니다

sort of,

just,

maybe,

seems like.

.

Consider these examples:

다음 예를 고려하십시오.

So compare the strength and tone.

따라서 강도와 톤을 비교하십시오.

This can sound clear and confident.

But it could also sound bossy, like my idea is the best idea and that's what we're going to do.

Compared to: I kind of think that renting a car would be better for us.

비교: 차를 렌트하는 것이 우리에게 더 좋을 것 같습니다.
