I have a great English tip for you.

Actually, a member of the Go Natural English community, Anastacia, asked me, "How can I

use "angry" plus a preposition like "angry with, angry about, angry at" and do people

really use those?

I think that's a great question, Anastacia, so I would love to answer it for you and other

members of the Go Natural English audience.

Alright, so, the best way that you can think of "angry" plus a preposition is that we use

them very often, yes, and we use them in slightly different situations.

And the best way really to find out about that is to expose yourself to a lot of English.

I just wanted to let you know that that's an option you can find out about.

"Angry with", "angry at", "angry about" -- those are three prepositions, about, with, and at,

that are commonly used with "angry".

Off the top of my head I can't think of any others, but if you can, feel free to leave

them in the comments so that we can help each other learn more.

"Angry about" plus a topic -- "I'm so angry about the results of blah, blah, blah.

The results of the soccer game", OK?

"I'm so angry about missing the train."

Nobody likes to miss the train.

"I'm so angry about this problem.

I'm so angry that she said blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

So, you're angry about a situation.

That's how we use "angry about."

"Angry with" could be plus a person.

"I'm angry with my friend because she said that I'm a bad English teacher.

Is that true?

No, of course not."

OK.

So, "angry" with a person, and that didn't happen, just a silly example.

"Angry at" is also used with a person.

"I'm angry at my friend because she did something bad."

OK.

So, "angry at" and "angry with" are for people.

You could maybe use them in some different ways but let's keep it simple and say "angry

at" and "angry with" are used with people.

You know, it's your choice.

I do not see a distinction, but again if you do and you want to comment or ask about that,

"Angry about" is used with a situation, not with a person.

Alright?
