Improve Your Vocabulary: Use Advanced Words instead of Simple Words

Today we gonna learn 12 advanced English words so that you can use to sound more natural. 

오늘 우리는 당신이 더 자연스럽게 들리도록 사용할 수 있는 12개의 고급 영어 단어를 배울 것입니다.

One of the best ways to sound fluent is to use advanced words instead of simple words.

유창하게 들리는 가장 좋은 방법 중 하나는 간단한 단어 대신 고급 단어를 사용하는 것입니다.

Let’s practice changing some  simple words with an adverb “very” 

부사 'very'가 있는 간단한 단어를

into advanced words

고급 단어로 바꾸는 연습을 해 봅시다.

The first one is very nice. 

첫 번째 단어는 매우 좋습니다.

Instead of saying very nice you  can simply say amazing or awesome 

very nice라고 말하는 대신 단순히 amazing 또는 awesome이라고 말할 수 있습니다.

You can say: ‘That’s amazing” or "That’s awesome"

'굉장해' 또는 '굉장해'라고 말할 수 있습니다.

The second one is very good. Instead of saying "It’s a very good movie" 

두 번째는 아주 좋습니다. "아주 좋은 영화야"라고 말하는 대신

you can say "exceptional" "It’s an exceptional movie"

"예외적이야" "예외적인 영화야"라고 말할 수 있습니다.

Number three is very funny. You can say – hilarious.  Hilarious means extremely  funny, merry and cheerful. 

세 번째는 매우 재미있습니다. 당신은 말할 수 있습니다 – 재밌습니다. Hilarious는 매우 재미있고, 즐겁고, 명랑하다는 뜻입니다. 수업의 다음 부분에서

Number - 4 Instead of saying very badyou can say dreadful 

번호 - 4 매우 나쁘다고 말하는 대신 두렵다라고 말할 수 있습니다

And you probably know the word ‘awful’ That’s another one you can use.

그리고 아마도 '끔찍하다'라는 단어를 알고 있을 것입니다 그것은 당신이 사용할 수 있는 또 다른 단어입니다.

Number 5. Very scared.

5번. 매우 무서움.

Instead of saying "I am very scared"  it’s better to say “I’m terrified”.

"매우 무서워"라고 말하는 대신 "무서워"라고 말하는 것이 좋습니다.

Number 6 very new 

넘버 6 아주 새로운

You can say brand new

당신은 아주 새로운

Number 7 - very beautiful. You can say "stunning" 

넘버 7이라고 말할 수 있습니다 - 매우 아름답습니다. "놀랍다"

or "gorgeous'

또는 "화려하다"라고 말할 수 있습니다.

Number 8 – very surprised 

숫자 8 – 매우 놀랐습니다.

Instead of saying "I was very surprised" you can say "I was stunned".

"매우 놀랐습니다 "라고 말하는 대신 "나는 기절했습니다"라고 말할 수 있습니다.

Number 9 

숫자 9는 매우

very rich you can say Prosperous

부자입니다. 번영 숫자 10이라고 말할 수 있습니다.

Number 10 Instead of saying "very angry" 

"매우 화가났습니다"라고 말하는 대신

you can say "indignant" If someone is indignant, 

"분개하다"라고 말할 수 있습니다. 분개하는 사람은

he is shocked and angry, because he  thinks that something is unjust or unfair.

어떤 일이 부당하거나 불공정하다고 생각하기 때문에 충격을 받고 화가 난 것입니다.

Number 11. instead of saying "very loud"

11번. "매우 시끄럽다"라고 말하는 대신 "귀가 먹먹하다

you can say "deafening". 

"라고 말할 수 있습니다.

The word “deafening” means so loud that  it’s impossible to hear anything else.

"귀가 먹먹하다"라는 단어는 너무 시끄러워서 다른 소리를 들을 수 없습니다.

Number 12- very important 

12번 - 매우 중요합니다.

instead of "very important" you can say “crucial” This word means extremely important or necessary.

"매우 중요하다" 대신 "중요하다"라고 말할 수 있습니다. 이 단어는 매우 중요하거나 필요하다는 의미입니다.

And now we are going to  practice what we've learned.

이제 배운 내용을 연습해 보겠습니다.

Let’s practice all these words in sentences 

연습해 봅시다. 이 모든 단어를 문장으로

1. She is a very nice person to talk to. She is an amazing person to talk to.

1. 그녀는 대화하기에 아주 좋은 사람입니다. 그녀는 대화하기에 놀라운 사람입니다.

2. Getting up early is a very good habit. Getting up early is an exceptional habit.

2. 일찍 일어나는 것은 아주 좋은 일입니다. 습관. 일찍 일어나는 것은 예외적인 습관이다.

3. He made me laugh by telling a very funny joke. 

3. 그는 아주 재미있는 농담을 하여 나를 웃게 했다.

He made me laugh by telling a hilarious joke. 4.They told us very bad news. 

재치있는 입담으로 웃음을 자아냈습니다. 4. 그들은 우리에게 매우 나쁜 소식을 전했습니다.

They told us the dreadful news. or They told us the awful news.  

그들은 우리에게 무서운 소식을 전했습니다. 또는 그들은 우리에게 끔찍한 소식을 전했습니다.

5. He was very scared of losing his job. He was terrified of losing his job.

5. 그는 직장을 잃을까 매우 두려워했습니다. 그는 직장을 잃을까봐 두려웠습니다.

6. We can afford to buy a new car We can afford to buy a brand new car

6. 우리는 새 차를 살 여유가 있다 우리는 새 차를 살 여유가 있다

7. The girl looks very beautiful in that dress! The girl looks stunning in that dress!

7. 그 드레스를 입은 소녀는 매우 아름다워 보인다! 그 드레스를 입은 소녀는 멋져 보입니다!

8. We were very surprised at  the results of the competition. 

8. 대회 결과에 매우 놀랐습니다 .

We were stunned by the results of the competition. 

우리는 대회 결과에 놀랐습니다. 여기에서 동일한 전치사를 사용

Pay attention that we don’t  use the same prepositions here.

하지 않는다는 점에 유의하세요 .

We were very surprised at the results But We were stunned by the results

우리는 그 결과에 매우 놀랐지 만 그 결과에 놀랐습니다.

9. New York is a very rich city. New York is a prosperous city.

9. 뉴욕은 매우 부유한 도시입니다. 뉴욕은 번영하는 도시입니다.

10. He became very angry when he lost the game. He became indignant when he lost the game.

10. 그는 게임에서 졌을 때 매우 화가 났다. 그는 게임에서 졌을 때 분개했습니다.

11. The noise out in the street was very loud. The noise out in the street was deafening.

11. 거리의 소음이 매우 컸습니다. 거리의 소음은 귀가 먹먹할 정도였다.

12. She raised a very important  question at the meeting. 

12. 그녀는 회의에서 매우 중요한 질문을 제기했습니다 .

She raised a crucial question at the meeting.

그녀는 회의에서 중요한 질문을 제기했습니다.
