ah now this next one is something that a lot of  people accuse me of doing mr duncan sometimes  

you go on and on sometimes you go on and on  this expression means that you talk too much

or maybe you talk about something that  is not interesting you just go on and on  

to go on and on means to talk about  something for a very long time

quite often in a dull and an interesting way  so something that's not interesting means  

to go on and on

so sometimes you might find your computer  or maybe your mobile phone will go wrong

it will go wrong it will suddenly stop working

so when something goes wrong it  means that it is not working properly  

there is a problem with that thing it  is not working very well to go wrong

if a person goes to pieces it means  they lose control of their emotions

they have a nervous breakdown they go to pieces

a person that goes to pieces is a person  who loses control of their emotions

maybe you become anxious  or maybe you start to panic

i will often go to pieces when things go wrong

and quite often i will tell  my equipment to go to hell

oh go to town to do something in a lavish way

to do something in an extravagant way

you go to town you do  something without holding back

maybe you go to town with your your fashion

so if you go to town with your fashion  it means you wear very expensive clothing

or very colourful clothing you go to town

another interesting idiom we have  just passed one hour one hour

i've been standing here talking  to you very soon i will go off

i will leave soon soon i will go off

if you go off it means you  stop doing something you go off

you leave you go off however there is also another  way of using this particular sentence as well

if you if something might go off it means  it might go bad it might spoil maybe food

maybe if you've had some food in your  refrigerator for a very long time it might go off

it might become bad it might go rotten

go off so there is another sentence another idiom  that we can use that means to go rotten to go off

here's another one oh maybe  you move towards something

maybe you you approach a moment of time  so if you are moving towards something

you might say that you go forth go forth

you are leaving to do something you  are heading in a certain direction

so this can be used quite often as a figure  of speech to mean that you are doing something

i think this is quite a good one considering

to be a good person they  decide not to do bad things

so perhaps a person who's been to  prison for a certain amount of time

maybe a person who has been in prison  

and then they they come out of  prison after serving their sentence

and then they decide that they are going to be  

good they are not going to  do anything bad ever again

so they decide to go straight

if you go straight it means you  decide to stop being naughty

you decide that you will not break the law anymore

you are going to go straight  

this is a well-known idiom a well-known  expression that is often used in english

when a person decides that they  are going to be good from now on

i promise in the future i will never do anything  bad ever again i promise that i will go straight
