which is the common confusion about questions with

これは、

'who' and 'what'.

「誰が」と「何を」という質問についてよくある混同です。

These two question words sometimes need an auxiliary verb

これらの 2 つの疑問詞には、助動詞が必要な場合と必要で

and sometimes don't. For example:

'Who did he speak to?'

「彼は誰と話しましたか?」

'Who spoke to him?'

「誰が彼に話しかけたのですか?」
