Up down shape of stress, 'years'  written in IPA with ih as in sit,  

Up down 형태의 강세인 'years'는 IPA로 작성되고 ih는 sit과 같지만

but when this vowel is followed by schwa R like it  is here, it's more like the EE vowel like in she,  

이 모음 뒤에 schwa R이 오면 she처럼 EE 모음과 더 비슷하므로

so it's not a pure IH -- Years ago. 

순수한 IH가 아닙니다. 여러 해 전에.
