Today’s video is about how to improve your speaking using online tools.

One of the most effective ways to communicate is through speech.

So, speaking tools are a vitally important method of communication.

I will share with you some useful tips you can use at home.

One. Video conferencing platforms.

Yes, they became quite famous during the pandemic.

But now we can use them to chat with friends, peers,

or language partners, in pairs or small groups.

That is to say people you feel comfortable chatting to in English.

You could play games or set each other tasks

[unclear] or just chat about topics you’re interested in.

Two.

Change your phone’s operating language to English.

Use the virtual assistants such as Alexa or Siri, in English,

to improve your pronunciation, as you need to speak clearly to be understood.

Super tip, you can check the pronunciation of

words with the audio feature on the Cambridge Dictionary online.

Three. Record voice notes in English.

Leave friends, peers, or teacher’s voice notes

in English, or record yourself speaking and listen back to them,

to see where there are areas you could improve.

This is a tip which has helped a lot to improve my speaking.

Four. Use social media.

Nowadays dubbing videos on social media are really popular.

You can practice imitating the dialogues, and repeating them,

using the original audio at the same time.

These videos are fun and they will give you confidence.

Watch our videos on the channel. Who doesn’t?

There is a whole section full of texts you can use to improve your speaking.

I’ll leave the names for these playlists in the description box.

Six. Audiobooks.

If you love reading, this is a perfect tip for you.

You can read for pleasure, and listen at the same time.

Practice saying sentences, or even paragraphs, out loud,

and then listen and check your own pronunciation.

Seven. Sing.

Oh, thank you.

If you love singing, I have a recommendation for you.

You can either watch some videos with lyrics on YouTube,

and enjoy a Karaoke night, or you can also use apps like

Santa or LyricsTraining.

You will improve your speaking by listening and singing at the same time.

You have to choose your level and complete the lyrics.

After that there is a series of follow up activities in which

you can listen and repeat.
