Conversational Ways to Say "I Understand" in American English

I wish I could speak confidently in English.  Well, I know you probably watch a lot of videos  

and listen to podcasts, but you need to  practice actually speaking. Gotcha. And  

you need to speak with different people about  different topics. Gotcha. It also helps to have  

some guidance from a teacher. Gotcha. Another  thing. A teacher can share some alternatives.  

"Gotcha" is a conversational way to say  "I understand," but you can't keep using  

it over and over. Hmm. There's...I see,  I see what you mean, I get it, I got it,  

that makes sense, and it's  starting to sink in. Gotcha.
