Comparatives: Nowhere Near As

Some people think that Rocky II is more exciting  than the original Rocky movie. If I disagree. I  

might say, "Rocky II is not as powerful as the  original movie." We can use an adjective or an  

adverb in the comparative structure "not as...as":  not as good as, not as well as. For emphasis,  

we can use "not nearly as good as, not nearly  as well as." How else can you tell me that the  

original Back to the Future movie is much better  than Back to the Future II? Back to the Future  

II is not nearly as good as the original movie. We  can also use "nowhere near as." I think Mockingjay  

Parts 1 and 2 are nowhere near as entertaining as  the first two movies in the Hunger Game series.
