Hello, everyone, I’m Kate and today we’re  gonna be talking about how to Learn English  

by watching movies and I will share with you the  Top Christmas movies to Improve Your English. 

I think you’ve already noticed this wonderful  background that reminds you that Christmas is  

coming, and we’re all waiting for the holidays to  spend time with our families, to give presents and  

of course, to watch kind Christmas movies. So let’s start with the first great movie 

1. A Boy Called Christmas (2021) It’s a British Christmas fantasy film.  

This is an amazing story about a young boy who  lived alone with his father because his mother  

passed away. So his father goes to a special  task to find the village where the elves live,  

but then he never comes back. And the  boy went to the Extreme Pole on a journey  

to find him and save him whatever it takes. So  watch this movie and find out what happened next.

This story is full of hope and I was so excited  to watch it. And I recommend you to watch a movie  

twice – watch it in English for the first  time, you can use subtitles if you like,  

and the second time – watch  it in your native language,  

that would be really useful for  improving your language skills.

2. The Knight Before Christmas (2019) It’s a comedy. It’s Not "the Night" but "the Knight".  

I’ve watched it yesterday for the first time. The main character’s played by Vanessa Hudgens,  

a high school science teacher, who meets a real  medieval knight. She offers to let him stay  

at her guest home while he recovers after a car  accident. It’s hopeful and full of joy. I love it.  

It’s good for beginners and intermediate  learners because the language is pretty easy.

3. Love Hard (2021) This romantic movie is about  

catfishing. Catfishing is when a person  pretends to be someone else on social media,  

when he uses fake photos  to attract another person. 

A young woman uses a dating APP to find a man  named Josh Lin and forms a strong connection  

to him through many long phone calls. So  she travels to his hometown for Christmas,  

but discovers that the person she was talking to  is a different person at all. And she understands  

that she's been catfished. Well,  this is where it gets interesting. 

No more spoilers here. I  definitely recommend this one.

4. Let It Snow (2019) Let it snow is a kind  

romantic comedy. It’s about a young girl,  who ran into a famous pop singer in the train  

and he mistakes her for a fan of him. They get off  the train together because of the heavy snowfall,  

and he invites the girl to have  dinner. So the story becomes more  

complicated and interesting. Just watch it. Nobody can deny that to watch English movies and  

understand everything you should have a good level  of English and you need to know much vocabulary,  

so if it’s hard for you to watch these  movies without subtitles, it’s OK to use them

5. Holidate (2020) The main character is a young woman  

who hates the holidays because her family  constantly judge her for being single. After  

Christmas she meets a man who has the same  problems and they both agree to attend every  

holiday gathering together and pretend to be dates  because it’s safer to be each other's holidates  

to avoid judgment from their families. This movie was on Top Best Christmas Movies  

On Netflix last year but if you haven’t watched  it like me, it’s the right time to do it now!

6. The Christmas Chronicles (2018,2020) The first part of the movie was released in 2018,  

and the second part was released in 2020. They  both are perfect to watch with your family. 

So the story starts with a brother and a sister  deciding to make a video of Santa’s coming.  

And then they go on really  exciting thrilling adventures. 

This is one of the best Christmas movies for me.  

It makes me feel like a kid again.  The characters are really great.

7. The Claus family (2020) It’s a fun adventurous  

story. Release date is December 2020. This is a story about a mom who works in a cookie  

factory; a grandpa who is the true Santa Claus  and… a boy who hated Christmas. After discovering  

his grandfather is Santa Claus, a boy has to help  him deliver his presents all around the world. 

If you're looking for a good  Christmas movie to watch on Netflix,  

this is the great choice. It’s so  funny and heart-warming.It’s good  

for beginners and intermediate learners  because the language is pretty easy.
