welcome to the tropical rainforests of Shropshire it is such a humid day today

I can't begin to tell you how humid it is well in fact I can tell you because I

checked before I came on it is now 85 85 percent humidity I think it is more

humid here than it is in the tropical rainforests of Brazil and and I'm going

to put some money on that I'm going to make a bet right now 85% humidity right

here in the UK oh my goodness I am hot and sticky already and I've only just

arrived oh my goodness how will I survive hi everybody this is mr. Duncan

in England how are you today are you okay I really hope so are you happy

well are you happy you should be happy because it's the weekend the weekend is

here everyone so we should all have a big smile on our faces we should all be

feeling positive and happy and excited it's been very exciting here in the UK

as the political bandwagon continues to Rumble down the road as we work towards

yet another attempt to leave the European Union Boris Johnson this week

lost yet another seat so he only has one person now as a majority in the

government here in the UK only one but the good news is since he came to power

he hasn't he hasn't had any more illegitimate children so that's good so

that's good so some positive news there for the Conservatives and also for

politics in general here in the UK hello there I am hot and sticky

I feel so invigorated today I really do I'm not sure what the weather is doing

today it's a little bit strange here we've had some cloud we've had some sun

and apparently it's going to rain later on so I hope the rain will stay away for

the time being until I finish the livestream and then it can rain all at

english lesson and i don't know why i did post it i gave lots of opportunity

for people to find out about it but i don't know why not many people saw it so

i was a little disappointed by that to be honest because i have been doing a

lot of new lessons during july and also many live streams as well so I don't

know what the problem is I'm not sure I might have to have a word with someone

at YouTube I might have to have a little polite chat to someone at YouTube yes

the Sun has just come out everyone this is some breaking news coming through the

not too bad but it's very sticky we have a lot of humidity at the moment 85%

there were two pigeons fighting in my garden and when pigeons fight they make

a lot of noise because their wings are flapping and slapping so when pigeons

watching in Tenerife I imagine it must be very sunny there at the moment I

think so I went out last night with mr. Steve and our lovely friend Martin we

went for a meal in Wolverhampton and whilst driving there we noticed in the

distance there was smoke smoke billowing into the sky and we guessed there must

have been a large fire taking place and there was a huge hotel in Wolverhampton

last night burnt to the ground you can probably find it on the internet if you

put Wolverhampton hotel fire in your search engine you will see that there

was a huge fire last night in Wolverhampton a huge hotel a really

large hotel that is been there for many years

fire out so that's what we could see as we were driving from Shropshire over

towards Wolverhampton we could see that there was a big fire occurring somewhere

and we were right but we had a lovely meal last night

Chinese mmm yes I like Chinese food and of course I used to live in China

although having said that I can safely say that the Chinese food here in the UK

is not as nice as the real Chinese food that you can get when you go to

China it's very different so I went there and they were playing some lovely

Chinese songs in the restaurant and there was one song that they played

that I recognized and it was the very song that I sung when I was in China on

Chinese TV and it made me it may be remember the past suddenly suddenly it

was 2003 and there I was standing on the stage in front of millions of people all

watching billions and millions of people they were all watching waiting for me to

sing did I feel nervous yes I did I felt very nervous but yes I thought it was

lovely so I heard the song that I sung in China

would you like to hear it now a little bit I hope I can remember the words knee

any suggestions well can I just say that you have to improve your English over

time you can't rush these things everything takes time people ask me

quite often mr. Duncan I want to learn English

quickly can I just say you can't you can't learn English quickly you have to

take your time you have to have patience so everything has to be learnt slowly

carefully you have to have lots of motivation and one of my best pieces of

advice is to use English as if it is a part of your body use English every day

try to learn some new words every day and then over time your confidence will

grow your word power will increase and before you know what's happening you

will be speaking English just like me yes I'm not sure if that's a good thing

it is conflagration that sounds a little bit too technical for most people you

can say blaze there was a huge blaze blaze so when we say blaze it means a

ferocious fire that is very maybe it's out of control

blaze so I suppose I could say that last night there was a huge blaze in

the song last night in the Chinese restaurant and that was the point I was

trying to make so I remembered my time in China I

suddenly went back in time isn't it strange sometimes you can hear something

or even smell something or maybe you hear someone say something and then

suddenly your mind your mind wanders it goes back in time to something that

happened years ago isn't it strange sometimes the memories can be good and

sometimes the memory is not so good but last night I was I was reminiscing I was

remembering some lovely memories and I even sung the song in the restaurant to

the owners and they were very impressed they couldn't believe it

Alessandro says you are not only an English teacher you are a genius

I'm not sure about that I've I've never been called a genius by anyone ever in

my life lots of other things hello teacher

I am very sad I don't know the best way to learn English and every time I keep

individual words I lose them later what you should do is write them down so if

there are any words that you don't understand anything that you are unsure

of you can write them down and then maybe you can look at them in a

dictionary or maybe on the internet so nowadays there are many ways to find out

things not only connected to English but but everything everything pal Mira says

my advice in online is to hours I'm not sure what that means yes maybe two hours

every day is that what you mean Palmeiro I'm not sure Ferrer is here I've just

study English and I want to visit Stonehenge how can I get there

have you ever been there mr. Duncan well can I just say that Stonehenge is a long

way from London but there might be some tours so there

might be a tour that will take you from London to Stonehenge but Stonehenge in

London Stonehenge and London are far apart they are not close to each other

so there is a little bit of a distance between Stonehenge and London so my

advice would be to find out if there are any tours a coach might take you from

London to Stonehenge a very fascinating place I have been there to be honest

with you it isn't it isn't amazing when you get there first of all you can't get

very close to it because there are a lot of barriers around the edge so you can't

just go into it and wonder around although I have a feeling when I went

there there were things taking place so perhaps when you go there you can get

right up close to it so I don't know when are you going to recollect all your

memories into a book that is what my friend said to me last night he said

Duncan you should write a book about your time in China I don't know how many

people would be interested but yes it's certainly a good idea but I did do a lot

of things when I was in China some good things happen to me and some bad things

as well someone someone attacked me with a knife when I was in China can you

believe it I've got some CDs of Irish music to remember my days in Ireland

thing to to create memories in your life and then as you get older you can

remember those wonderful times that you spent not only by yourself but weave off

with your friends as well your friends are alive relations lovely sometimes

when I get in to a level in English when we are comfortable talking and writing

in English we how to improve our English to the next

level how can I improve my level well I suppose it depends what level you are at

now so there are certain things that people learn easily but then as they

progress there are certain parts of learning English that become more

difficult and as I say every time on the live stream one of the hardest things

about learning English is speaking I think speaking Louie Mendez hello Louie

Mendez a genius is someone who doesn't live in our world he is in a world ahead

someone who is not normal well you've got that part right

I'm definitely not normal and my mother did have me tested and they said there

is no way this kid is normal no way I listen to you every day at home and also

in the car that is a good idea Thank You Alessandra so try to create your own

English environment and that I think this is a problem that many people face

if they are living in a country where English isn't spoken that widely so try

to create your own English environment and as I said before if you can't find

people to practice with why not find a group of people who are interested or

maybe you can create your own group go on the internet or go to the local shop

or the local community center if there is an area where you can put notices you

can say are you interested in learning English

improving your listening but I think also it is good to to watch movies or TV

shows with subtitles as well so it will allow you to get used to the sound but

also you will be able to read what is written on the

Green as well Farrar says I can speak English really good really well not good

you don't say I speak English good you say I speak English well well people

could understand me and I don't translate things in my head

it just comes naturally and I can express myself fluid fluently

that's why I'm confused well I suppose if you're English level is high maybe

you don't have to try so hard but of course there are always new words there

are always new phrases there are always new idioms that you can learn even I can

still learn new words in the English language because English has millions of

different words and of course each word has maybe four five different

definitions as well and then you have the different tenses so you have future

tense past tense present tense sorry says in my opinion reading is the most

significant way that can help you much or help you a lot reading means

improving your words grammar forming the sentences in a correct way

and also you can focus on it well I agree with you I always say that reading

is is very important if you want to collect new words if you want to

understand grammar it is a very powerful way of learning a new language so can I

just say that that is a brilliant suggestion and it is one that I've

suggested in the past as well I think so so thank you Andrew it is like an old

local language maybe ways of saying words or maybe even words that are not

used anywhere else so maybe the words are local so when we talk about

colloquial we talk about local languages or languages or ways of speaking so

maybe if you go to one part of the UK you might hear certain words or certain

ways of using English and that's what we mean when we talk about colloquial it is

a local phrase something that is used specifically in one place I am an

English teacher and I come here to practice English well I do have a lot of

English teachers following me on my channel so you are not unusual you are

not alone there there are many people who are teachers who watch me as well so

we do have teachers here and also students as well

yes August has arrived again and that can only mean one thing I will become

another year older so my birthday is approaching the 12th of August or as we

call it here in the UK we call it the glorious 12 because that's the day when

you can go out and shoot a certain type of bird called grouse so there is a

certain type of bird called grouse and on the 12th of August is the day when

you can go out and you can shoot the grouse and it just happens to be on the

12th of August which is my birthday and they call it they call it the glorious

12 but it has nothing to do with my birthday nothing at all so my birthday

is not today it is on the 12th of August so today is the 3rd of August so 9 days

from today I will be another year older 6 off 60

I can't believe it I will be six years of 60 in six years time I will be 60

years old it doesn't seem possible it doesn't see but how could I be 60 in six

years from now terrible mr. Duncan you will be older smarter and happier I'm

not sure about that I really not sure about that I guess I don't want to see

myself as an old person I don't want to use the face app I don't want to see it

I think I think it it seems to go against nature it seems to go against

your your psychology I don't think it's very good for you I think it might make

you feel a bit depressed maybe it might have an effect on your mind maybe

perhaps afterwards you will feel unhappy so if you see yourself as an old person

I think for some people it might have a very strong effect wow mr. Duncan I hope

days six of sixty-six years from now I will be 60 it just seems strange it
