UK SUNSET - LIVE English - 19th April 2018 - Live Chat - Practise your listening skills 8-)

oh hi everybody its mr. Duncan in England how are you today are you okay I

hope so are you happy I really hope so I'm doing

something very unusual this is a very spontaneous moment of time because as

you can see behind me the Sun is setting on the horizon there it is can you see

it and I thought it would be a nice idea to do a livestream whilst the Sun is

setting so this is a completely spontaneous and unplanned livestream not

only that mr. Steve is also leaving at the moment he's going out to attend his

rehearsal so we can actually see mr. Steve leaving so there he goes bye mr.

Steve so mr. Steve has gone off for his rehearsal so now it's only me and you

watching out there in YouTube land so let's have a look shall we let's see

what's going on we can hear the birds singing but can you hear me can you hear

me okay am i coming through loud and clear if you can hear me clearly please

let me know say mr. Duncan we can hear you clearly

it's a little bit windy but we have had the most amazing day it's been beautiful

a real summer's day dare I say just a couple of days ago it was freezing cold

and now here I am standing in my front garden in just my t-shirt and my big hat

to protect me from the Sun so I hope you can hear me okay if you can hear me

please let me know just so I am sure if you can't hear me I can adjust the

volume a little bit in the studio apparently the audio is okay we can hear

you clearly good because the Sun is preparing to set

so what I will do I will actually when the Sun is going down I will actually

take the camera and I will focus over there where the Sun is so we can enjoy

the sunset together does that sound like a good idea I think so we are having

lovely weather here at the moment in England it's been glorious today

apparently today was the hottest day so far this year although that's hardly

surprising considering how awful the weather has been this year so far so I

suppose not really there's definitely a delay in the terms of the picture and

the sound well there shouldn't be there really shouldn't be beautiful sunset

thank you very much for that yes this is a surprise it really is a surprise I'm

just keeping an eye on the Sun just to make sure that I don't miss it

thank you for the beautiful sunset yes we will zoom in to the sunset in a few

moments as soon as it starts to go down the birds are very excited tonight the

birds get very excited in the evening especially when the weather is nice and

of course at the moment it is the mating season at the moment hello from Paris

the live chat already joining me tonight for this special sunset moment okay not

long to go the Sun is approaching the horizon so in a moment the Sun will

start to sink behind the horizon it will set on the horizon so the line in the

distance is called the horizon it's a great word the view the

farthest view or the furthest view before the sky appears is the horizon

okay the Sun is nearly nearly there just a couple of more moments and then I will

go behind the camera and I will focus on the Sun and then we can enjoy the sunset

together live yes it is live it is just coming up to five past 8:00 in the

evening here in the UK so it's just coming up to five minutes past eight

o'clock in the evening and this is mr. Duncan I normally teach English on

YouTube but tonight I'm doing something slightly different so let's move behind

the camera and together we will enjoy this evenings sunset

so as we prepare for the moment where the Sun disappears behind the horizon

what a beautiful moment I must admit I do love sunsets very much it must be the

most magical time of day and of course for people like me who enjoy taking

photographs and filming video clips this time of day is a magic time in fact we

call it the Magic Hour the final moments of a very beautiful

day it's a great time to take photographs

so now we can enjoy the sunset together it is the end of another day another day

has come to an end as we wait for the Sun to set and as soon as the Sun sets

it will get dark very quickly so sadly I won't be able to spend much time outside

afterwards

and for those who are interested the Sun at the moment is actually setting behind

a very large hill called Breidden Hill Breidden Hill and there is a large

stone monument on the top of Breidden Hill called Rodney's pillar maybe later you

can look at it on Google Maps

and that is it the Sun has now set and very soon it will start to get dark

which means I won't be able to stay outside for very long because you won't

be able to see me did you see the bird then flying home a lot of the birds are

now getting ready to spend the night standing in a tree or maybe some of them

will be sitting in their nests and then afterwards the bats will start to come

out and there will be bats flying all around the house

hello there did you enjoy that that was something a little different so I

thought I would do something a little different because you know me I

sometimes like to experiment with my photography and video so that was

something different I hope you enjoyed that the sunset live oh my goodness I

did try this last year by the way I did do this before and it wasn't very

successful because I did it on my mobile phone but tonight we are doing it with

my HD camera so it should look a lot better

hopefully anyway I don't know how to explain the thing is very important to

human life this is amazing and refreshing Thank You Moret

for that well I love nature very much so I like the birds

I like the sunset I like the gentle breeze especially in the evening after a

very hot day like now for instance so yes very nice that was very beautiful

scenery thank you semi does anyone ever use the

thing called periscope there is one lady on periscope who does yoga and she

always does it every day on the beach and she normally gets up very early to

watch the sunrise so she will do yoga on the beach right next to the sea so the

sea is coming in you can hear the gentle sound of the waves and in the distance

you can see the Sun starting to rise whilst she's doing her yoga exercises

it's actually quite good I do sometimes use periscope

not very often a lot of people ask mr. Duncan are you on periscope well no I'm

not really on periscope I've only been on

a couple of times but there are some very very lovely people on there so

there is one lady who uses her mobile phone to actually film herself while

she's practicing her yoga exercises live on the beach as the Sun is rising it's

amazing it's incredible so I hope you're enjoying this it's something a little

different I hope it's not too boring I know some people start complaining they

say mr. Duncan why do you just stand there saying hello to people the reason

why I do it is because it's you that keeps me going it's you that keeps me

doing this so if it wasn't for you being there I wouldn't be here talking to you

so it's all about you lovely streaming Thank You Ana I'm glad you enjoyed that

I was busy yesterday I did 2 live streams yesterday and that's another

thing that happens a lot on periscope there are many people who will do maybe

three or even four live streams every day on periscope so it's very different

from YouTube hello mr. Duncan I am really addicted to your live lessons and

I feel like I want to live in the UK Thank You Andre that's very kind of you

well all I can say is the UK and England in particular because that's where I

live is a wonderful place so don't believe everything you hear on the news

don't believe everything you read in the newspapers and especially don't believe

everything you read on the Internet the UK is a lovely country or a lovely

nation and England is a wonderful country with lots and lots of lovely

nice nice people nice hat mr. Duncan you are a very funny and interesting person

and can you see behind me there just in the distance you can see one of the most

famous land Mark's in my area over there there is

the wrekin the wrekin the wrekin hill I'm sure the YouTube subtitles will

spell that completely wrong because it normally does

can tell that it's starting to get a little bit dark so let's turn the camera

around so you can see where the Sun was

so there that's where the Sun was and I will say goodbye soon because we will

start to lose the light unfortunately which is a shame let me just adjust the

camera that's better so I hope you can still see me so you

can see the afterglow now in the sky the afterglow that is the afterglow of the

sunset in fact sometimes this can be more stunning and more attractive than

the actual sunset itself so quite often the afterglow can be quite amazing in

fact tonight it looks quite nice quite nice indeed so the live chat anybody on

late at night here it's now 10:00 to 1:00 in the morning where and

mirrors amia it's very late where you are right now here in the UK it is 22

minutes past 8 o'clock so 22 minutes past 8 I received a message today from

someone who was asking about how long the daylight lasts during the summer

well normally during the summer the daylight goes on for a very long time so

during the summer months the days are very very long indeed very long and the

nights are very short so during the height of summer we normally have around

maybe 4 or 5 hours of darkness but the rest of the time it's light so the days

are very long in the summer and the nights are very short

hello mr. Duncan says Stefan Oh Stefan oh hi there have you just joined me

that's a shame because you've missed the sunset we had a beautiful stunning

amazing sunset taking place right behind me

yes mr. Duncan we are speechless Wow was it really that amazing was it ok

thank you very much why do you put those statues in your garden oh these do you

mean my lovely Easter Island heads I just think they're fun they're they're

interesting and my postman everyday always gives them a little wave so every

time the postman arrives at my house he always gives my Easter Island heads a

little wave he likes to say hello to them yes we are here we are speechless

well that's what a lot of people do on periscope a lot of people go live on

periscope every day and sometimes maybe two or three times every day but I'm not

sure whether that would work on YouTube I don't really know whether or not it

would work on the YouTube platform I don't know to be honest do you like my

hat it's my big hat I've been wearing this hat all day to protect me from the

Sun mr. Duncan can I give some advice to my students to watch your lessons and

then they will tell that they are the best lessons ever thank you Connell

that's very kind of you well mr. Duncan you are still here

marvelous yes Nicole I decided to do a special livestream of the sunset as you

can see the Sun has now gone but about seven minutes ago it was still in the

sky go live every day can you imagine what would happen if I did that if I

went live every day I would die of exhaustion anyway it looks as if the

light is now fading and eventually I will disappear into obscurity because

you won't be able to see me yes it gets dark very quickly as soon as the Sun

sets it starts to get dark but of course the camera will make it look even darker

so it's still quite light here but unfortunately the camera can't see the

light yes this moment in time is called disc disc so disc sunset and now we have

the Twilight the Twilight the end of the day as the Sun sets it's all very

romantic it's all very romantic Thank You Aamir

for that yes we can use the word desk desk very good silver-gold

says mr. Duncan the weather today was very nice the Sun burnt me says silver

gold so now so now your your skin is silver gold I think so

I burnt my skin because I spent all day in the park near my house in Manchester

oh you have to be very careful about getting too much Sun on your body

because it's not good for your skin because when you get older you will

become all wrinkly and you will look very very old do you have a light in the

garden no I don't I don't have a light well not behind me anyway I have lots of

lights on the house but not behind me yes it is called disk disk anyway I

think I will go now because the light is getting bad unless I can make it a

little lighter let me just try something very quickly

mmm-hmm no that isn't much better so I think I will leave it for now and I will

go it's time for me to go unfortunately because as you can see the

light is now fading so I will see you on Sunday

unless of course I decide to do another livestream tomorrow which is very

unlikely because I have a lot of editing to do tomorrow so I will see you later I

also think that the statues are nice and unusual thank you Anna so Anna likes my

Easter Island statues thank you very much for saying that very lovely
