Learn the English Word "one" and the phrase "a good one"

learn some interesting ways to use the word one.

one'이라는 단어의 흥미로운 사용법을 알려드리고자 합니다.

We can use the word one

우리는

sometimes in sentences like this.

가끔 이런 문장에서 '하나'라는 단어를 사용할 수 있습니다.

You could say, that was one amazing

정말 대단한

movie, that was one awesome song.

영화였고, 정말 멋진 노래였다고 할 수 있겠죠.

That was one amazing cool concert.

정말 놀라울 정도로 멋진 콘서트였습니다.

So somehow the word one ends up in the sentence, if

그래서 어떻게 된 일인지, 'one'이라는 단어가 문장에 들어가게 되었는데, 만약

someone was in a car accident and they didn't get hurt

누군가가 교통사고를 당했지만

at all, you might say, oh, that was one lucky man.

전혀 다치지 않았다면, 오, 그건 정말 행운아였구나 하고 말할 수 있을 겁니다.

He could have been hurt really badly,

그는 정말 심하게 다쳤을 수도 있었지만

but man, he was one lucky guy.

So it's kind of a strange use.

The other word I wanted to teach you today

So this is similar where you can say,

그러니까 이건 비슷한 건데, "

oh, that movie, that was a good one.

아, 그 영화 참 좋았어."라고 말할 수 있는 거죠.

Or that song, that was a good one.

그 노래는 정말 좋았죠.

I went to a concert last summer and it was a good one.

저는 작년 여름에 콘서트에 갔었는데 정말 좋았어요.

So simply using the word one to refer back

그래서 단순히 '하나'라는 단어를 사용해서

to the thing that we were talking about.

우리가 이야기하던 것을 다시 언급하는 겁니다.

So to review, you can use the word

따라서 검토할 때,

one for a little bit of emphasis.

약간의 강조를 위해 '하나'라는 단어를 사용할 수 있습니다.

You could say that is one gigantic airplane.

정말 거대한 비행기라고 할 수 있겠네요.

There's no airplanes in the sky right now.

You could say that is one enormous boat.

정말 거대한 배라고 할 수 있겠네요.

And you can also use the phrase a good one. That car?

그리고 a good one이라는 표현을 쓸 수도 있어요. 그 차요?

Oh, that's a good one. What did you buy?

오, 좋은 답이네요. 무엇을 샀어요?

저는

a Toyota RAV4.

토요타 RAV4를 샀어요.
