PEDESTRIAN | Learn English Vocabulary Meaning, Grammar, and Usage in Example English Sentences

Hi, everybody. My name is Esther. 

ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಎಸ್ತರ್.

And in this video, I'm going to  talk about the word ‘pedestrian’. 

ಮತ್ತು ಈ ವೀಡಿಯೊದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾನು 'ಪಾದಚಾರಿ' ಪದದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

A pedestrian is somebody who is walking.

ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಎಂದರೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ.

They might be walking on the street.

ಅವರು ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರಬಹುದು.

Or on the sidewalk where all  the stores and restaurants are. 

ಅಥವಾ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂಗಡಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್‌ಗಳು ಇರುವ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ.

The sidewalk or pedestrians might be  crossing the street on a crosswalk. 

ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಅಥವಾ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಕ್ರಾಸ್‌ವಾಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ದಾಟುತ್ತಿರಬಹುದು.

That's the section with the white lines where you  have to go if you want to go to the other side. 

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಬಿಳಿ ಗೆರೆಗಳಿರುವ ವಿಭಾಗ ಅದು.

So let's look at these example sentences.

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

“Don't hit the pedestrian.”

"ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯಬೇಡಿ."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

So in Korea there are very many cars and drivers

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕೊರಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಚಾಲಕರು

and they have to be  careful not to hit the people that are walking.

ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು.

The pedestrians.

ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು.

So "Don't hit the pedestrian."

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ "ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಬೇಡಿ."

The pedestrian crosses the crosswalk.

ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಅಡ್ಡದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Again, the crosswalk is where the white lines are.

ಮತ್ತೆ, ಬಿಳಿ ಗೆರೆಗಳು ಇರುವ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ವಾಕ್ ಆಗಿದೆ.

You have to walk there if you  want to go to the other side.

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು.

The pedestrian crosses the crosswalk.

ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಅಡ್ಡದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟುತ್ತಾನೆ.

The last example is,

ಕೊನೆಯ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯೆಂದರೆ,

"There are many pedestrians on the sidewalk."

"ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ."

Remember, ‘sidewalk’ is the area next to the street where pedestrians should walk.

ನೆನಪಿಡಿ, ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಪಕ್ಕದ ಪ್ರದೇಶವೇ 'ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ'.

It's safer, right?

ಇದು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿದೆ, ಸರಿ?

So "There are many pedestrians on the sidewalk."

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ "ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ."

Okay. And so that's how we use ‘pedestrian’.

ಸರಿ. ಮತ್ತು ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು 'ಪಾದಚಾರಿ' ಅನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಳಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

Remember, it means somebody who's walking.

ನೆನಪಿಡಿ, ಇದರರ್ಥ ನಡೆಯುವವರು.
