English vocabulary related to online shopping

Hey everyone.

Over the past year our shopping

habits have changed a lot, haven't they?

We haven't been going to shops as much,

and online shopping has made it a lot

easier to shop right from our homes.

In today’s video I'm going to teach you

some vocabulary to help you shop online.

Before we start, click on the subscribe button

to subscribe to the channel for lots of videos

to learn English.

When you're on the webpage of a shop

and you see something you like,

you can click on the Add to Cart button.

A shopping cart in a physical store is a bag or

a basket on wheels, where you carry your purchase.

Here it's a digital place,

where you add things you want to buy.

If you're only going to buy one item,

you can click on the Buy Now button.

This means your purchase will be

closed and you can make the payment for it.

When you see something you like but you

can't buy it now, you can click on the Add to List,

or Add to Wishlist button.

A wishlist is a selection of things

you want in the future.

When you add your products here,

you can find them more easily the next time.

If you're not sure if something is good or right

for you to buy, you can check out the Reviews section.

A review is when people who have

already bought the item write a

short text with their impressions

of the product, if they liked it or not.

Also, when you're checking out an item,

you can look at the specifications of the product.

Specifications are a detailed

description of how something is made.

It's where you'll find all the information

about the product.

If you are buying clothes,

you might have to choose the size.

The options are, S for Small,

M for Medium, L for Large,

and XL for Extra Large.

There are bigger sizes,

like XXL, for Extra Extra Large,

and smaller sizes, like XS,

for Extra Small.

When you're done adding things to your cart,

you can click on the Proceed to Checkout button.

This means your cart will be closed

and you can go to the payment section.

When you're in the checkout section,

you can choose the shipping type.

Shipping is the delivery of your product to you.

It includes both cost and time estimate

of the arrival.

If you see free shipping,

you don't have to pay for the delivery.

Also in the checkout section,

when you make the payment you might

see the options Promo Code or Voucher,

which is when you have a code of numbers,

or letters, that give you a discount,

or, Gift Card, when you have received

money from someone to buy at this specific shop.
