absolutely glorious day here in the UK I can't believe how nice the weather is at

the moment here we go hello welcome it is English addict live from the

you happy yes it is Wednesday afternoon as you can see it is almost 10 minutes

past 2:00 o'clock here in the UK and we are live once again across YouTube thank

you very much for joining me it is an absolute glorious day

I really feel like going down there onto the lawn spreading my body out after

oiling myself of course with lots of suntan lotion and having a lovely

sunbathe however I can't do that because I'm here with you right now doing my

livestream so here we are then I'm glad to see you here as well I hope you are

feeling okay of course I was with you yesterday I decided to do one of my

naughty live streams mmm sometimes I do this I like to pop up on

your screens from time to time and that is what I did yesterday with my live

stream I couldn't resist going on yesterday because the weather was so

nice it was an absolutely glorious day yesterday and I hope you enjoyed the

live stream I think ours on how long was I on for yesterday I think it was about

one hour 45 minutes yesterday however today guess what today you have two

hours mr. Duncan that's far too long I can't possibly sit in front of the

computer and watch you for two hours well guess what you don't have to

because you can watch all of this later on of course so for those who are often

concerned earned by the fact that they can't watch

all of the live stream in one go you don't have to can always come back later

watch a little bit more maybe wait for the repeat on YouTube and of course you

can have captions not only recorded but also live as well isn't that incredible

if you want to have live captions it's easy all you have to do is press that on

your keyboard there it is all you have to do is press that on your keyboard

there press C right now don't put it on the live chat just press the button just

take your finger and press C on your keyboard that's all you have to do and

for those who are using mobile devices well yes you can also do it as well all

you have to do is go where Oh up there can you see in the corner you might not

be able to see it because the trees are in the way but there it is can you see

those little red dots all those white dots the white dots in the corner that

will take you to your functions and you can actually get captions right now so

if even if you are watching on your mobile device guess what you can get

live captions as well all you have to do is set the function on your mobile

a warning I am wearing my shorts I know it isn't a pretty sight I have very big

knobbly knees unfortunately but the good news is you will not see my legs today I

can guarantee at no point during today's live stream will you see my lengths so

don't worry even though I'm wearing shorts I have made sure that you can't

see them on the camera all by the way we've made it all the way to the middle

of the week yes it's Wednesday

yes we have made it all the way to Wednesday and I'm very very pleased that

that has happened to be honest isn't that nice it's it's very nice in fact we

are looking at quite a few things today we are also going to make some tea cakes

as well a lot of people have asked mr. Duncan can you show us your tea cakes

well it just so happens that a while ago mr. Steve and myself we actually toasted

some tea cakes in the kitchen so I will be showing that in its entirety Oh mr.

Duncan that is a nice word if you do something in its entirety it means you

do it complete you do it without any interruptions or you do it without

making it shorter you show the whole thing you show it or you watch it in its

entirety it's a great word that's another one for you to write down on

quarter past 4:00 a.m. a.m. what were you doing at that time this morning can

I tell you what I was doing I was vomiting

I felt so unwell last night I woke up in the middle of the night it was around

about 4:15 in the morning and I felt really unwell my stomach was really

hurting my body felt very cold and yet I was sweating and I knew what was going

to happen we all we've all been there we've all had this situation where we

feel as if we are going to be sick we are going to throw up and I got out of

bed I waited for a while but I knew it was going to happen eventually I knew I

was going to be sick and it happened at around about 20 past

4:00 force morning I was being sick in the bathroom I don't know how or why or

what caused it because I made the supper last night so maybe I made myself ill

with my own cooking who knows so I had some fish fingers last night

so maybe perhaps I did not cook the fish fingers for long enough however I was

being very sick this morning and there is nothing worse however I don't know

about you but whenever you actually throw up whenever you vomit I don't know

why afterwards it feels amazing it's like it's like your body has been

released from some sort of agony I don't know why it's suddenly as if a huge

cloud has been lifted from your soul I don't know why but there is nothing more

horrible and also quite pleasurable as well of throwing up being sick vomiting

and that's what I was doing very early this morning however I feel ok now I've

had lots of water I've been drinking plenty of water my stomach is okay mr.

Steve made some scrambled eggs on toast a few minutes ago so I've had something

to eat so my tummy

is full and I feel very happy we are also going to take a look at some baby birds

today baby pigeons baby Robins baby gold finches in fact at the moment here in my

garden I am surrounded by baby birds young birds that have left their nests

they have fledged from their nest so when a bird

fledges its leaves it goes out into the big wide world so we are going to take a

look at some baby birds a little bit later on I promise I won't be mentioning

my my little drama in the night I won't be mentioning that again so I'm sorry if

you were eating at the moment if you are eating I'm sorry but I felt as if I had

to get it out of my system literally it was actually literally I literally had

to get it out of my system at around about 20 past 4:00 this morning hello to

it is a real word it is something you can say if something is exceptional if

that it is super duper it is something that is wonderful amazing brilliant

fantastic I can't describe it it is so SuperDuper and there it is I like using

that word if you are watching yesterday you would have seen me struggling with

my rubber gloves a lot of people at the moment are wearing these rubber gloves

especially when they go shopping so some people are wearing their masks on their

face and also some people are wearing rubber gloves and as you can see I have

a huge box of rubber gloves and these are gloves that Steve sometimes uses

what I know what you're thinking you're thinking why why does mr. Steve need so

many rubber gloves well when he is when he's doing his car maintenance when he's

changing the oil or doing anything with his lawnmower so if he's changing the

oil or doing something he always puts a pair of rubber gloves on to keep his

hands nice and clean so there you can see rubber gloves and we have quite a

few of them here so we didn't buy these because of you know what we didn't buy

them because of fact we bought these a long time ago so we've actually had

these for a very long time rubber gloves so these are the ones that Steve often

uses when he's doing some maintenance on his car or when he's doing something

with his lawnmower as well and nothing else there will be no insertion around

ever heard anyone say this who do you think you are who do you think you are

it's a great phrase quite often when a person is being pushy maybe they want

extra special treatment or extra special service maybe they think they are better

than other people so they have to be treated better than other people you

might say to them who do you think you are come on but who do you think you are

you think you're so special you think you're better than everyone else whom do

you think you are so maybe a person who has a very inflated sense of entitlement

we've all met someone like that a person who believes that the world owes them

everything a person who walks around expecting everyone else to give them

what they want a person with an inflated large sense of entitlement they believe

that they should get everything they want and you might say to that person

who do you think you are you you you think you are special do you think you

are more important than other people who do you think you are you might hear

people say that sometimes maybe a person who thinks they are famous they might go

around expecting everyone to treat them like royalty it doesn't always happen

happened I don't know what happened I felt so ill and if there's one thing you

know about me I don't like being unwell I don't like pain and I certainly don't

like being sick I definitely don't although I don't know

many people who enjoy throwing up I don't know many people who actually

enjoy doing that to be honest are you feeling okay now I'm fine now it's great

when once the event happens so when you have the event but you feel great

afterwards it's very strange you feel somehow

take a look at something lovely would you like to see something very nice in

the garden here is something that I've been showing for the past couple of

weeks and now you will see that the rhododendron in the garden has finally

it has finally come into full bloom

all wow isn't that lovely so there it is now in full bloom the rhododendron in my

front garden looking quite amazing now with all of its lovely color lots of

flowers lots of plants on coming out that particular type of plant is called

an ornamental flower so you often use it for displays it is something that you

put in a certain place or position so it gets the full attention so quite often

ornamental flowers serve a certain purpose in the garden you will put them

maybe in a corner maybe a place where they are easily seen so ornamental

something that is used for display to decorate your garden with lots of

to see you back I have lots of flies crawling up my leg I'm wearing my shorts

today and I'm already I'm already starting to regret wearing my shorts to

Steve enjoys doing the gardening so I'm not going to stop him because he enjoys

it he loves coming outside although today can I just tell you something this

morning Steve was was going to go into the garden to do a lot of work

and he hasn't done anything because he's now having a holiday you see he's taking

a break from work even though basically he's been at home

for the past eight weeks but he's been working at home so now he actually has a

break so he is he is taking a little holiday at the moment for a few days so

Steve is in the house but of course he's always finding something to do he spends

a lot of his time on the phone talking to people you might not know about this

but mr. Steve is a person who loves chatting on the telephone what about you

would you say that you're a person who likes talking on the telephone a lot I

know these days because we have these amazing smartphones we don't have to

actually talk to people on the telephone so what about you do you still talk to

people on the telephone do you still actually use your voice to

communicate with another person on your telephone or do you do what many people

do nowadays they use their text services their SMS services instead so what about

you do you ever chat on the phone do you enjoy chatting on the phone to be

honest I don't there we go I'm being honest I'm not a person who

can sit talking on the phone for a long time I get a little tired of it I find

not being able to see the person all the time when you are having a conversation

and especially when they have nothing to say have you ever done that have you

ever been on the telephone with a person and they say nothing and yet the

conversation goes on and on and yet they're talking about nothing some

people might say it's a little bit like your live stream mr. Duncan

sometimes you will stand talking about nothing for a long time

zoom or some sort of device that allows them to see each other so you can

actually chat on your phone and see the other person as well so that has become

very popular during these strange times

so we have a lot of things to show you hot words connected to being hot and

there is the word hot when we say something is hot it means it has a lot

of heat it has a high temperature something that is hot is normally

illustrating the high temperature of an item something that's being heated up is

hot you might describe the weather as being hot

today today is a very hot day a lot of heat is in the air making the

temperature go up and up so today it's around about 26 Celsius today very nice

day very lovely hot we could also use an interesting phrase as well connected to

being hot you can do something in the heat of the moment if you do something

in the heat of the moment it means you do it spontaneously you do it without

any preparation normally if you lose your control of your emotions if you

lose control of your emotional state you might do something in the heat of the

moment because your emotions have taken over

they've become crazy in your mind you can't control your emotional feelings

the feelings that are happening maybe anger maybe lists maybe the desire to do

something crazy you do it in the heat of the moment

I think a little fly just went into my mouth em I think I swallowed a fly then

there was an old woman who swallowed a fly she swallowed a fly perhaps she'll

die to do something in the heat of the moment you do it based on your emotional

state you quite often lose control of your emotions or your feelings you might

also get hopped under the collar if you get hot under the collar it means

you become maybe flustered or upset over something or maybe you become very

excited by something you become very hot under the collar maybe you see an

attractive person walking down the street you might get a little bit hot

under the collar so to be in a heightened emotional state something

that is making you excited it might make you hot under the collar

you might have a heated discussion a heated discussion so when we say that a

discussion is heated it means it is passionate maybe two people are debating

and they are disagreeing with each other maybe they are arguing about the subject

you can describe it as a heated discussion

I watched a very interesting story last night on television there were two

people having a debate about the current situation in the world and one person

was saying one thing and the other person was saying the opposite they

ended up having a heated discussion it was a heated discussion passionate fiery

maybe they disagreed with each other and so the conversation became quite maybe

angry they had an angry discussion heated oh you're hot to trot have you

ever heard of this one this is an interesting phrase I think used in

English when a person is ready to go maybe a person is very eager maybe they

can't wait to start doing something we can say that they are hot to trot

compete against other people there is a lot of pressure on you to succeed you

there is a lot of pressure there is something that must be done maybe you

have to do it well or maybe you have to do it straight away without any

yesterday there was a baby pigeon have you ever seen a baby pigeon before

baby a little tiny pitch in a little baby pigeon in the garden and here it is

right now

doo-doo-doo oh did you enjoy that there it is a

little baby pigeon not many people get to see baby pigeons but at the moment in

my garden there are baby pigeons everywhere

do you want a rubber glove I have lots of rubber gloves here mr. Steve uses

them for all sorts of things when he has an emergency maybe he has to put some

rubber gloves on his hands normally when he's changing the spark

plug on his lawnmower or maybe he is doing something with his car

maybe perhaps hello to mr. Furr hello just variation it is not a baby it is a

grown one you are wrong you are wrong that is a baby pigeon did you know that

the pigeon will stay in the nest until it's much larger so baby pigeons when

they leave the nest are actually almost full size however if he's still a baby

it is a juvenile so a young bird we often describe as a juvenile

I can hear a pigeon now above my head hello - Karim Karim we would like to

have the masks mr. Duncan I don't have any proper masks I don't have any masks

at the moment I have one somewhere I think maybe it is in my backpack from

yesterday however I was walking around yesterday in town and I didn't see

anyone else wearing a mask no one so I didn't wear mine either maybe that was

the right thing to do maybe not who knows here are some more baby animals

once more Oh would you like to see some more baby pigeon

so here we go here we are again with some well there is one baby pigeon on

the left you can see there is a baby pigeon and

the other two are adults and you can see they are different there is a difference

between the baby pigeon and the adults so the baby pigeon is the small one on

the left and the adults are the ones on the right and you can see there is a

definite difference between those pigeons so that is what a baby pigeon

looks like compared to an adult we might actually get to have a closer look in a

minute can we go a bit closer I want to I want to have a closer look at the

kitchen

that is amazing would you like to see another baby bird okay here we go this

baby bird is a Starling so there is a baby Starling coming out oh and also it

is being fed by its parent as well so there you can see a baby Starling you

might even see two in a moment yes now - can you see - baby starlings so this was

taken in the place where I used to live many years ago unfortunately around here

we don't get starlings in this area and there you can see these are Housemartins

Housemartins once more they are a small bird and there you can see some baby

starlings having a bath in the garden on a beautiful summer's day very similar to

the day that we're having right now

talking of baby birds here is a baby bird that I saved a

couple of years ago can you guess which bird this is do you know which bird this

might be it is a bird that I found in my garden but this particular bird is a

baby it is a young juvenile bird and I

rescued it after it flew into the window it actually hit the window so I rescued

it took care of it and then a little bit later on it flew away so that is a baby

Bulfinch it is a baby Bulfinch a young bullfinch

here's another one now would you like to see a baby

goldfish you would okay look closely you will see ah there it is so there is a

baby Goldfinch the Goldfinch normally is a very bright very colorful bird but you

can see that bird doesn't have much color because it is a baby

it is a young Goldfinch so that is what a goldfinch will look like when it is

young when it is a juvenile so this one has just left the nest it's just

actually flown from the nest and there it is a baby Goldfinch finally would you

like to see a baby Robin yes can we please see a baby Robin okay so look

very closely and you will see on your screen right now there is a baby Robin

oh hello little Robin I can see you even though your feathers are cleverly

disguised you might notice the color of the baby Robin is very interesting

because it almost it's almost camouflaged it's almost invisible

because of the color of its feathers and that is because a Robin is a ground

nester so Robins normally build their nests on the ground so the chicks quite

often will have a very similar color to the ground and as you can see there that

particular baby Robin looks very similar the color is very similar to the ground

and that makes it much harder for the predators like sparrowhawks and kestrels
